How to fix a Windows 7 BSoD?

In recent weeks, I was struck with the BSoD. Somehow, after going into Safe Mode, I was able to revive the box (though I doubt that really fixed anything.).

When I try to use Windows repair software, it is said that I have no problem.

When I use Windows recovery software, it says it's 'something', but nothing changes.

When I try to use restore points, he tells me that they are corrupt and cannot be used.

Here's my last BSoD:

I went looking for a crashdump... There is none with the date of the day!

Where should I go from here?

Thank you very much...

Paul

Hello

Well, it could be a hardware error and those who can only be fixed with software. Sometimes
Re-installation of Windows is the solution to save time, or will tell you more material.

Use the method of start-up mode minimum to see if you can get the system starts.

In advance Options, you can find the restoration of the system, System Image recovery, automatic startup repair, command prompt, changing the parameters of UEFI firmware (not available on all computers) and change the boot settings.

You should first try System Restore.  Changes to the system to cancel the system restore return your computer to a Restore Point previous. You must choose the restore point before the problem came as dated.

    Hi John,.

Thanks for the quick response!  After that, I tried the reallocation of photo gallery Windows Live as the default application for photo files.  So when I saw your response, I followed it for Windows Live.  I don't understand what you mean by "you'll have to recataloguer."  I changed the name of the file, and then open the photo gallery, according to the instructions.  But shortly after a stop too it (a few minutes with 'Live,' immediate versus with regular photo gallery).

What I started to do, is try to copy old photos from a CD on this relatively new computer.  They would not copy.  Then I tried to select 'Import pictures' rather than 'open folder '.  That's when I noticed the problem with the photo gallery Windows stops immediately.  It seems to be the same problem another user has pointed out - Data Execution Prevention stops the program.  But I can not turn off DEP for library - it will not allow him.  I tried an update, or a DEP-compatible version, but found none.

Here's a maybe stupid question: can I just move to another photo application?  Aren't my files always in there somewhere, accessible by another application?  Or am I totally off base regarding how it works?

    Thanks for the ideas!
    Veronica

New catalogue means when you rename or delete the .pd4 file... your Photo
Gallery will return to the way it was the first time that you opened. The
    Photo Gallery will fill again.

It may be interesting to try to uninstall Windows Live Photo Gallery (you can not
uninstall Windows Photo Gallery). And if it is a recent issue... it can be
worth a try to restore the system to an hour before it began.

Yes you can use another software... IrfanView, Picasa and FastStone Image
Spectator got three which may be worth a try (all free).

Your photos are probably in your pictures folder.

    Good luck.

I was with the windows media player 12 to broadcast my media from my pc to my xbox 360

I have installed a codec pack to get mainly mkv and other formats of media for playback support
It worked fine for a long time.
recently the windows media player 12 categorizes the mkv and accept other formats avi, wmv formats and in the other media section
and the xbox 360 can not find this article so I can't stream this content more
What can I do to fix this

    Hi ChrisLovett,

MKV is not a format supported by Xbox 360. If it worked with the Codec pack that you use, you can remove this codec pack and reinstall the latest version of the codec pack and see if that helps.

You can use your favorite search engine to search for a converter to convert the file format of .mkv in another format that supports the Xbox 360.
