How to identify the type of HARD drive / Serialnr

Hello community,

I would like to know if it is possible to identify what HARD drive I have access in practice:

In a scenario of esxi 5.5, I have 2 or 3 identical HDDs which can be distinguished by the ability of (identical), and the identifier that is advertised to Configuration-> storage. Here, I see only identifiers like naa.5002455784d568d3, but where I can see the manufacturer, the model and - if possible - the serial number of this device?

I would like to know which physical hard drive, specifically, is assigned to my storage.  OK, I could stop the esxi system and remove all hard drives except one and find the ID but I can identify the HARD drive also directly in the vsphere client?

Thank you for any suspicion!

Greetings

Tom

Hi friend

Use this command in your ESXi: # esxcfg - scsidevs - l | egrep-i ' display name. vendor'

Also please check this KB:KB VMware: hardware (System, storage and i/o) compatibility of host ESX/ESXi confirming

    In Windows 7, you can get a lot of details by selecting Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, system information, components, storage disks. It was very similar to Windows XP, but for all information users tend to use Everest or Belarc Advisor for additional information not available. Everest has been best Bellarc advice but they ceased to offer tan updated free version. However, the 2.20 version is always available from third-party sites.

    Check out bad news.

    Unknown HARD disk password cannot be removed or deleted.
    In this case, the HARD drive is blocked and is no longer usable

    I think you can abandon this HARD drive and you can buy a new :(

  • New installation of Windows 7 will not identify the second internal hard drive

    Attempted recently to upgrade a computer running the SP3 of XP to Windows 7.  Bought the new FULL version of 7.
    Have two 1 t Seagate Barracuda SATA drives on board; Operating system in partition 1 of disk C:. second disc to store data only.

    Several unsuccessful attempts to install 7, but with helpful suggestions, others on this forum, (i.e., update of the BIOS, re-formatting drive C to do a clean install, etc.) finally managed to a successful installation.

    All right, except that it does not find my second hard drive.  I have the disks attached ports SATA 1 & 2, but the system reads them so much as the C: drive.  The second disc appears in the BIOS Setup and Explorer as just the C: drive.

    Tried to change the SATA port for second drive to 3 and 4 with the same result.  It always appears as the C: drive.

    How can I get the systΦme can recognize the drive, so it can be assigned to a drive letter and I can access?  I suspect that the reformatting of the first disc for installation probably erased some boot sector/configuration info.

    A side issue: before attempting to upgrade to XP, I backed up my "Documents and Settings" on an external drive.  Now that XP is passed to the computer, can I continue to use Windows Easy Transfer to retrieve all my settings and info from the program, or who's going to screw me up?

    Check if the hard drive is assigned to a drive letter in disk management.

    Click Start, right click on computer

    Click on management of

    Expand disk management

    Select your external hard drive if its posted here

    Make a right click paths and change drive letter

    Restart your computer, open the computer in the start menu and see if it shows then.

  • HOW TO IDENTIFY THE TYPE OF ACTIONSCRIPT CODE DURING EXECUTION

    Is it possible to get the version of actionscript in flash movie that is to say, if AS1.0 or AS2O or AS30 during execution?

    It is possible to detect the execution if a movie is of the type AVM1 and AVM2.

    AVM1 means all the movie clips targeted before the Flash Player 9. [AS1 or AS2]

    AVM2 means video clips focused on Flash player 9 or higher. [AS3]

    The following code detects the version of the clip.

    var img = _loader.getChildAt (0); _loader is a loader loading an external swf file object.

    If (img is AVM1Movie)

    {

    Alert ("avm1 movie...");

    }

    on the other

    {

    Alert ("avm2 movie...");

    }

    I don't think you can distinguish if the movieclip is AS1.0 or AS2.0. because, at compile time, the AS2.0 code gets converted to AS1.0 code.

  • How can I identify a defective internal hard drive to be replaced on a macpro in early 2009

    How can I identify a defective internal hard drive to be replaced on a macpro 2009 beginning el capitan running

    A good starting point is the Information System (Option while clicking the Menu Apple key). At the hardware level, click on Express SATA/SATA and look for the SMART State in the bottom right pane for each HD listed in the upper pane right. Unless the State is OK, looks like not verified. If the drive is totally dead, search for a missing list for a drive Bay, you know is filled.

  • How to install Win7 on new hard drive and still access all the files from the hard drives of previous Vista?

    I currently have a Windows Vista PC. It has two SATA drives, one with the operating system, the one I use for storage.

    I want to buy a new SATA hard drive and install a new copy of Windows 7 top.

    I want to know the steps to follow to do this. My plan is this:

    1. turn the pc power off and open the case.

    2. remove the old hard disks

    3. plug the new empty hard drive

    4. turn on the pc and the insertion of the disc to install to Win7 for DVD-ROM drive

    5. enter in the bios and put the DVD-ROM as first boot device

    6. install win 7 on new hard drive.

    Is this correct?

    Because my next question is important:

    7. Turning off the computer.

    8 reconnect the two old hard drives. New total number of SATA drives connected = three.

    Now when I restart the PC and login to Win 7, it lists two other drives as, for example, D:\ and E:\ readers?

    How can I make this work?

    Thank you very much!

    Thanks for your reply, but I don't want to dual boot. I just want to have the hard drive as the master drive Windows7 and the old two drives as slaves, where I can access files as the pictures and letters.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Well, I would disconnect all drives hard current interns, then connect the new hard drive, reinstall Windows 7, re - attach the old readers as slaves and copy all the data you need to on the disc of Windows 7.

    See:

    How connect a SATA Hard Disk as a slave . eHow.com
