How to install a virtual appliance of CentoS 5.2 in Fusion?

Hello.

I'm a Mac with Fusion user.  I downloaded the virtual appliance CentOS 5.2.  I've expanded the 7z file.  Now, I have a directory that contains

CentOS5 - f001.vmdk CentOS5 - f005.vmdk CentOS5.vmx

CentOS5 - f002.vmdk CentOS5.nvram CentOS5.vmxf

Users.txt CentOS5.vmdk CentOS5 - f003.vmdk

CentOS5 - users.txt CentOS5.vmsd f004.vmdk ~.

What is the next step?  I tried 'Import', but all files are grayed.  I tried 'new virtual machine' and then pointing to the vmdk file.  That continued "successfully", but the panic of the system during startup, complaining that there is no such thing as VolGroup00. "."  What is the secret?

Thank you.

Asher

Without knowing the explicit file and specific that you have downloaded everything I'm going to say at this stage that you can run (double-click on) the CentOS5.vmx file.

Since the files listed, it looks like a picture of work/drive station. What you can do is to use VMware vCenter Converter Standalone to convert the virtual machine to your ESXi host.

  • How to install the virtual machine tools

I am new to this, and it's fun to find how to do everything. I'm stuck now, so need some help, I did search but could not find definitive answers.

I have ESXi installation, it will run on a dedicated slide. I have a windows-based virtual machine that I use to test.

I downloaded the iso of VM Tools for Linux to install on the server so that I can push to the client virtual machines. I can't understand how to install the VM on the server tools so that I have the option in the console to push to turn the VM to the client tools.

Is there something I'm completely missing? The iso is for linux, which is the server. I assumed it would be installed on the server that would allow me to push to windows clients.

    Help, please!

VMware tools for Windows is already included in the installation of ESX.

Customer Infrastructure using, go to the console of the virtual Windows computer and logon. Right-click of the virtual machine in the inventory on the left, then select "install/upgrade VMware tools. If Autorun is enabled the installation starts automatically, if not the Windows.iso is loaded into the virtual computer CD-ROM drive and you have to run setup.exe.

    Hi Alexander,.

    ·         Using Windows XP on the virtual machine?

    ·         What version of Windows 7 you have installed?

If you plan to install Windows XP separately and have the dual-boot Windows XP and Windows 7, you must have a Windows XP disc. You can see the following link for more information.

How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals

If this is not enough, you can install Windows XP on Windows 7 using Virtual PC, unless you have one of the following editions of Windows 7 (Professional, Ultimate or Enterprise). This does not need to have the Windows XP disk.

  • How to install the virtual machine to ISO image

Rather than burning a CD from ISO images downloaded from each OS you want to build a virtual machine it would be more convenient to use the ISO image directly. How can I achieve this?

Create the virtual computer with CD player.

Double click the CD drive in the virtual machine properties.

    Select USE AN ISO IMAGE

    Navigate to the image.

and also you can refer to this link

VMware Workstation 12 Pro Documentation Center

First duty (if the customer has a button for this) eject the CD in the comments, then ctrl-alt to focus the host, right click on the CD icon in the bar area of low right state of the workstation user interface and select disconnect; repeat, and then click edit. Select the image ISO next necessary; reconnect; then click the mouse back in the window of the customer and to know that the next CD is loaded.

  • How to install Toshiba virtual sound sending?

I'm a complete novice. Toshiba sent an update for Virtual Sound. It has been downloaded, but I have no idea where the file should be stored. If he has left as a zip file or should it have unzipped? Any suggestions gratefully received.

    Peter

    Hello

I never received all of the Toshiba but only downloaded files from the driver page. I think that the utility has been compressed as the other drivers on the page of Tosh and you must decompress it before you perform an installation.
You can save the zipped file anywhere on the HARD drive and then unzip this package.

The new folder should appear with the Virtual Sound mentioned.
In this folder, you should find an exe file (I hope).

Simply run the exe file and follow the instructions

  • How to install Windows 2003 Server virtual appliance

    Hi all

I installed VMware server 2.0 and created a new virtual machine.

Now, I want to install the microsoft windows 2003 Server virtual appliance. I downloaded the same from the microsoft site and there is an .exe file and two .rar files.

I want to know how to install these files on my virtual machine.

You help me please about this request.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Himanshu

Server 2.0 won't open it without conversion because it is in the format Microsoft Virtual PC/Virtual Server that's why you need to go through the converter.

When you run the converter, select 'Other' as the source type, find the .vmc file and destination choose "Other virtual machines" and give it a name and a location where to put the files it produces.

  • vSphere Data Protection Virtual Appliance 6.0 does not install

I tried to install VDP 6.0 on ESXi 6.0 for the last day and I'm seriously about to launch smashing everything like the incredible hulk.

There are thousands of guides, I have used them in the yellow on bricks. It installs, but as soon as he told me to go to the party for the configuration it simply can. It will not resolve the host name to anything. It irritates me even typing the sentence. I have virtual appliances for the vRealize Operations Manager, vCenter Server, both work perfectly and have been set up in record time. I change IP address, virtual LANs, DNS, reinstalled 4 times entries. I did all humanly possible simple configurations and the INVESTIGATION period will not solve so I can set it up. I try to put in place so I can prove the case for the VSAN still further it and it's making it really, really hard.

Anyone having problems with the VDP 6.0 installs correctly?

I was running into this same issue. Try to open this Web page that is part of the same subnet.

Try another browser. I couldn't get it work well with Chrome, but with IE and Firefox.

  • How to install an OS (windows7) invited on a virtual machine

    Dear friends,

I installed ESXi 4.1 on a system (AMD64).  I can't connect to the ESXi host of vsphere client on a laptop computer.

I have created a virtual machine for windows 7.  Screenshot attached. As is apparent from the screenshot, I created a virtual disk for windows7, which is presented as "Windows7/Windows7.vmdk [datastore2].

After this point, I'm not clear on the next step on how to install windows7 on the virtual machine.

-I guess, I have to reboot the host, ESXi, with a CD of windows7, I did.

-After a few screens, it shows the list of partitions, as shown in the two screenshots.  But none of the partitions show the virtual disk, I created and allocated using vsphere client.  In vsphere, I created a file of virtual disk of size 256 GB (maximum allowed, even though I have 1 TB * 2 discs), hoping I'd find this 256 GB as partition, on which I can install windows.

    - But I can't find a relevant 256 GB partition.

I'm doiing it the right way?

Is there a particular method for installing an operating system on a virtual disk file?

Thanks in advance and best regards,

    RV

It depends on your needs. With ESXI, which does not allow direct access to virtual machines (as you have already discovered) you will usually have the best performance and reliability. If you need to use the host and run virtual machines as part of it, then you might want to take a look at products like VMware Workstation or VMware Player who install an operating system (Windows or Linux) on top.

  • Is there a mechanism to prevent the Virtual Appliances Cisco to be cloned or exported in the form of the OVF/EGGS?

I am very confused why Cisco has no mechanism to prevent its virtual appliances are cloned or copied, for example I can install ACS 5.6, buy a license and deploy it, then I can export the virtual as appliance and the OVA file and deploy it elsewhere in other licenses without the need to buy another license, after the deployment of file EGGS I can even change the IP address , Default Gateway, NTP server or any settings that I want but license is valid in steel...

    Why the hell is happening?

Not a bug, it's how ACS works now, it's your ethical standards if you break this system of 'trust' that Cisco has implemented. It is actually as most of the Cisco product was working at the time, and some products are back for this model (ASA APEX ex.)
