  (just edit the post, the CD-ROM drive can be mounted/dev/cdrom and/dev/cdrom-had in my vma)

  Here's what I had to do to mount the iso and install the driver on my console Management Wizard vSphere:

  First of all, I attach the ISO using vSphere client on my vm VMA. then:

  sudo mkdir/media/cdrom

  sudo mount/dev/cdrom-had/media/cdrom

  vihostupdate - Server < ipaddress.or.fqdn > - install - /media/cdrom/offline-bundle/INT-intel-lad-ddk-igb-1.3.9.19.12-offline_bundle-166506.zip bundle

  It will ask for the username password and install the update. Restart the ESXi.

  If your vMA only makes available the/dev/cdrom, you can deploy the FVO in a new virtual machine and try again.

  I downloaded the free versions of two of these codecs , hoping to be able to transcode as an intermediate codec for my AVCHD files. The problem is that neither appears in the options either my first Pro CS6 Adobe Media Encoder Export/Import? What gives? Am I missing something here? How to get the option to transcode or encode DnxHD or Cineform on a PC of CS6 version?

  Problem solved.

  After another night of googling and experimentation, I managed to understand what the problem was. So finally AViD DNxHD for QT codec works like a charm on my machine.

  It turns out that the problem was with the Avid codec installers (tried THE 2.3.7 2.3.8, 2.3.9, and EP 2.3.7).) They install files (extension *.qtx) real codec for the wrong directory:

  "C:\Program Files (x 86) \QuickTime\QTComponents\.

  However the correct location is:

  "C:\Program Files (x 86) \QuickTime\QTSystem\.

  Therefore, you need copy/move files from the avid *.qtx in this folder manually and you will be able to play/import your DNxHD media in MOV containers so that compress video in DNxHD via QT in the SOUL, PP or any other software that can deal with QT.

  Right click on the file vcdcontrolTool.exe and choose run as administrator removes the "could not open SCM: access denied" message, but VCdRom.sys is still not visible in % windir%\system32.
