How to install XP on a laptop used, have CD/DVD but no product code

I bought a laptop used on three or four years with a genuine version of XP Professional already installed. I have the XP disc with me (has "for refurbished PCs ' printed on it), however I do not have the product code with me when I moved to Southeast Asia. The laptop broke down so I will soon buy another used quality XP laptop.

Is it possible to install XP on it without the product code?

If so, is it possible to activate it without a phone call? I have a quad-band GSM, but the voice quality is very poor with calls long distance.

Thank you

No product key, no activation.
