I know how to stop a clip of looping using the this.stop (); order by placing the command in a separate layer from the Action Script, in a keyframe within the video clip timeline. This allows the clip to play through both, and then stop. But I need to clip loop more than once, maybe 2 or 3 times and then go back to the main timeline. Anyone know the code for this?

  Also, is it possible to place a break (I'm guessing, perhaps using a timer of some kind?) between the loops, so that the film is going to pause a few seconds before the loop is executed again, then stop? Please note that I must not the clip to stop when there's an event like a reversal or whatever it is. I just need to play a couple of times, pause between pieces and then stop and return to the main timeline. Please let me know if anyone can help.

  There are different ways to do... the simplest is probably to put a bit of code directly in the scenario of your clip. Assuming that your frame 1 is a 'pause' with a stop() in there, you can add the following text:

  var loopCounter:int = 0;

  Stop();

  Then in the last frame of the clip:

  loopCounter ++;

  if(loopCounter == 3) {}

  dispatchEvent (new Event ("clipDoneLooping"));

  gotoAndStop (1);

  } else {}

  gotoAndPlay (2);

  }

  So in your main time line you have a condition that tells the clip to play with a gotoAndPlay (2); If you need to know the video has looped three times and has finished you can listen to the clipDoneLooping to ship.

  myClip.addEventListener ("clipDoneLooping", doSomething);

  And will be called the doSomething function.

  To place a pause between loops, you can use a timer object. Instead of the gotoAndPlay (2) conditional above, you should just start a timer.

  I'm building a small widget to the web user interface, and trying to keep all of my the most changeable elements, I can (form of layers) and things instead of rasterize layer effects. I have a shape layer that makes a badge in the shape of burst, and he has a gradient on it overlay to give dimensionality. Now, I want to put a circular layer topped on it (with a transparent gradient melted in it) to give the badge a big nail gloss. The problem is that if I do the badge, a layer of cutting for the circular Fermata, the climax gets covered by the gradient on the badge overlay. I thought maybe I could dupe the badge shape layer, stip effects, then cut the nail that and set the fill opacity to 0% - making a transparent layer... but this is just the highlight disappear thus (I suppose that elements within the clipping mask are considered by embankments - and this is also why the gradient on the Baden he covers if I hang it there).

  If I just rasterize my bland-in gradient and use a vector mask on it that has the same shape as the badge, it works fine. But it is not as elegantly resizable. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?

  Select the layers you want to hide, and then click the G command to put them in a group, and then either create a vector or a mask bitmap on the group. If you are having problems with the effects and how they interact with the mask, double click the effect and change the settings in red

  Only the parts of the image? Use the Ultra effect or chroma Keylight in AE to key.

  If you overlay your video with clips, there is no need to adjust the opacity.

  Hi guys, I'm new here and I'm new in this videoediting.

  I find fantastic Premiere Pro for editing videos, it's really a program for PRO´s.

  Because of this, it has so many functions and options that it is difficult for a beginner to find his way.

  I tried to find the answer to my question in help, here in this Forum and I have also two different video tutorials, but no luck.

  Background:

  I got 10 video cassettes of a Sony handycam I took in 1989-90 in New Zealand who live there with my 2 little girls for a year.

  I got the strips turned into DVD´s and I have no problem to read and edit them in CS4 Pro. But I want to make a few different videos to different audiences.

  A DVD included all travel, a short version, and then I want to use some clips for something completely diferent.

  I put a lot of effort to change the lightning and the edition of each clip with a lot of attention. I want to just do this once for each item.

  So, how can I save the edited clips so I can easily open them in different projects?

  Probably a stupid question but no question - no answer!

  This will be a little complex, but here goes...

  Your original source material (bands) are the BEST material to use for editing.  NO bands from dvd. The dvd is mpeg 2 and very compressed and EDIT isn't a DELIVERY format (for watch and enjoy).

  so, although you can get the VOB's in first, you already deal with a video that is compressed and was only to be watched...

  What does that mean?

  This means that when you export this vob it is compressed again (this part of the workflow gives you a certain freedom because you can export under a "Lossless" codec as lagarith and even dv avi type 2 is pretty much OK re: loss)

  So, if you handed in the first all these small pieces of groovy things backed up your ten discs, you look EVEN more loss of quality through compression and decompression and so on...

  When you export you get what you did for the effects and you can not save these effects to export things, that you can later adjust when you re - import.  You are exporting to a format of 'delivery'... to be looked AT only... 99% of the time... in general.

  So what you want to do is just dreaming and I love it... its a beautiful dream, but it is a little far fetched.

  Ideally, what you would do is:

  Capture your original images of a band on your hard drive.  THESE clips become your source... material and NOT a vob to a dvd.

  Now you have the source material original that you can use again and again in many different projects many... and you will never lose any quality to import those into your editor.

  Then you do what you want with effects... and when you have finished changing the DISC NUMBER 1, you save this project as a DISC NUMBER 1 PROJ.

  Then you move and change the DISK NUMBER 2 PROJ... and finish editing and save that one... for each of your 10 disks.

  Now when you want to mix and match and play with all this material, you start a NEW project and set THAT NEW project regardless of your choice in your 10... registered projects and making movies nice as you want... to save the nine projects... so your original 10 projects do not change and you have always these healthy and safe...

  When you import clips 10 original project of your saved projects you can change the effects etc because it will be 'open' as you say, so your new project can do things that are totally new and exciting...

  But the important thing is the workflow, saving and naming of your projects in order to keep track of what is what...

  What do you now, export and import and export again, etc. is NOT how you want to really change things... especially if you HAVE the original footage on tape and that can capture instead of use the dvd stuff that is ALREADY a bad format for editing due to compression, etc.

  It has been long but I hope you get the general idea...

  The top layer is a shape made out of expanded trails, I also do a compound path. The second layer is made of paint brush strokes, I ungrouped them.

  If I understand you correctly, that is exactly what made the AE camertracker. Follow you your shot, create a camera and a solid, then simply use the replacement process to substitute your video clip for solid.

  I'm doing a video presentation of Whiteboard.

  
  What I should really do is bind the sequence .png of the arm/hand to the effect of sequential race that I applied to the layer below, as to pretend that the hand movement draws this layer (which is actually a scanned hand drawing) after masks I created with the Auto route tool.

  Obviously, I need to find a way to do it to avoid creating keyframes for each unique hand (REALISTIC) movement.

  I train after effects CC 12.2. I have a composition of 'HAND' with 7 different .png goes on loop, stop motion such as; a composition where the edge effect is applied to the design and overall composition where I would like to merge the previous two.

  Does anyone have any suggestions?

  It may be possible to copy & paste the masks of illustrator and join some of them in a continuous path, however, but otherwise he must get used to the fact that there is no automated for any solution. Some things just need a tedious manual work and it's one of those things...
