  • How to buy vSphere Client?

    I have one box of ESXi and vSphere client is perfectly suited for me.  However, I called commercial VMWare asking how to buy it but they cannot find in their system.  How much it cost and how do I get it?

    When you download you are sent an email with a license to apply to the server esx4i.  If you apply this license on the server, it is running in trial mode and will expire.

    If you don't have e-mail, log in again and the system to resend the email.

  • VSphere client light web - cannot select boot from ISO via the CD/DVD drive

    I had used P2v to virtualize a Windows 7 machine and after the start he said that the "the boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible. I think I need to run a repair using Windows 7 image and possibly launch a fixboot and fixmbr, but when I try to adjust the settings of the virtual machine using the web client to boot from the ISO it displays an error and the ok button to save the settings is grayed out. How is it doesn't let me do this?

    Never mind. I got the VM running in Vsphere client while trying to change the setting in the web client.

  • Cannot save orchestrator in vsphere client of web (v5.5)

    Hello

    We have difficulties registration orchestrator to use in the web client.  Control https://**server-ip**/mob shows that it is registered as an extension and that heart rate were received recently.  However, even after a reboot of the vcenter server services and services of orchestrator, logging out and back in the vsphere client, try to save it manually in the web client, etc is not always appearing.

    When you try to save it manually, what format should be used?  We tried several methods

    1. https://FQDN:8281

    2 https://FQDN:8281 / api

    3. COMPLETE DOMAIN NAME

    4 FQDN:8281

    5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

    6 https://IP

    7 https://IP:8281

    8 https://IP:8281 / api

    All of these methods give a negative result.

    Also, even if SINGLE sign-on is configured, and perform a connection test using configuration orchestrator web page succeeds, we are unable to log into the customer orchestrator!  It indicates that the user is not allowed, even if it's the same user specified in the orchestrator as administrator of the active directory configuration.  Just in case this might help, we use MS SQL Server Enterprise 2012 for the two vcenter orchestrator and.  In order to ensure that orchestrator db was fully complient, we duplicated the DB original vcenter then creates a user in the connection to the db vco and populated SQL tables.  The reported configuration wizard success.  (Note we also tried it with a fresh database and let orcestrator populate tables - which was also successful, but we still had the same problems with integration and customer sign; so to maximize compatibility, in case the db does not have the necessary objects, we have reproduced the vcenter db... the reason for this wsa as orchestrator can use the vcenter server db if installed in "easy" mode)

    We have searched communities and found many people with the same problem, but none of the cases that we found was actually marked "resolved."

    Could someone help us please with it?  Although version 5.5. impressive regarding the progress made and new features, etc., it has been an absolute nightmare of application.  I hope that VMware is working on fixes of bugs because if we had it to do over again, we would stay with version 5.1 for awhile.

    Thanks in advance for your help.  If anyone has had problems with the installation of version 5.5 (fees or upgrade), we can help... just ask me.  At our facility, we had about 6 or 7 different issues to which we have documented resolutions (most are easy to solve, but in a production environment, no downtime is not good!

    Sincerely.

    Post edited by: sietec2 - changed the ports that have attempted to 8081 8281, typo.

    Solved!  After the suggestions from you, I had a hunch and checked the file 'vco.properties'... then noticed something strange.  Here is the content of the file

    INSTALLER_UI = SILENT

    USER_INSTALL_DIR = C: / $Program Files$ / $$ / $VMware Infrastructure$ / $Orchestrator$ / $

    CHOSEN_INSTALL_SET = CS

    VC_Database_User_Name =

    VC_LogOn_User_Name = administrator

    JDBC_URL = jdbc:vdb:vcdb

    VC_web_Service_Http_Port = 8080

    VC_web_Service_Https_Port = 8443

    VC_Http_Port = 80

    VC_Https_Port = 443

    Upgrade_or_Fresh_install_Flag = fresh

    SSL_Certificate_location = C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\SSL\

    Customer_information = Windows user #.

    [email protected]

    SSO_URL =https://Our.domain.com:7444 / sso-adminserver/sdk

    [email protected]

    LS_URL =https://our.domain.com:7444/lookupservice/sdk

    IS_URL =https://our.domain.com:10443 /

    [email protected]

    SSO_DISABLED = 0

    Notice the line "BOLD", VC_LogOn_User_Name, went to the administrator.  Change that to administrator@{ourdomain.com} and restarting the server orchestrator, then logging on and in the web interface of vcenter server resolved the problem and the server of the vco appeared!

    So if anyone has the issue where it won't register in the web client, check the server.properties file in {orchestrator_install_root} and make sure the log the user name is correct for your environment!

    Thanks to those who helped!

  • get the username on vsphere client of web

    Hi all

    How can we get the currently logged in user name in the web client of vsphere. Son of https://communities.vmware.com/message/2297455#2297455 and https://communities.vmware.com/message/2246358#2246358 have been useful, but in the nets, code connects to the vCenter server, I want to get currently logged user. How can we get UserSession object without calling vimPort.login. Is it possible to get connected vimPort currenlty logged the user object in the web client of vsphere.

    I need to know the name of the current user logged to the customized access privileges to give in my plugin.

    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Best regards

    UserSessionService.getUserSession () .userName gives you the username.

  • Could not access console VM in vSphere client of web 5.5 - action "open console" is not found

    I use vSphere Web Client version 5.5.0 with vCenter Server Appliance 5.5.0.10300 build 1945271.  When I try to access the console of a virtual computer, I get the error "Cannot find action"open console"  I'm running Win7x64 with Chrome v37 and the latest version of Java.  I installed the VMware client integration plugin and restart the browser and the problem persists.

    All other functions, I've tried seem to work, I only have a problem with the functionality of the console.

    What can I do to fix this?

    Try to uninstall the plugin and install it by clicking with the right button-> run as administrator and then try to start the console. See if it works for you.

  • Can I connect a workflow to the vSphere Client GUI (Web)

    Hello

    I see that in workflows, you can do almost anything, but how can I get users 'normal' trigger / start the workflow? For our team to servicedesk (1st level) I wish I had some workflows that I want to connect to the vSphere GUI client. For example, a right-click on a virtual machine to create a snapshot that requires them to enter the name, days that should last the snapshot, email address and change the number.

    Gabrié

    You must configure vCO to integrate into the web client of vSphere. Once done, you can run workflows from there.

    If you use the vCO device, there is a document that I wrote in the documents tab.

  • How to assign read only to vm so accessible by console web vcenter

    Hello

    I want to know, how to assign the read-only for vm so accessible by browser web vcenter Web console to say?

    I know that we can assign permissions on each individual object. Is it true do us, if the virtual machine is accessible by vCenter Web Console (i.e. the Web Browser access)

    Thanks in advance

    all the permissions via vCenter using the vSphere Client or Web Client will be the same.  If you have applied using the vSphere Client, is there nothing more to do.

  • How to check the type of datamodel in case of response data from application of DataByConstraint in the plugin development web vsphere client

    Hello, I am new in plugin development web vsphere client.

    I need to send multiple DataByConstraintRequest (say A and B data model class) within a class of script simple action. But to handle events of response data, we use

    [ResponseHandler (name = "{com.vmware.data.query.events.DataByConstraintRequest.RESPONSE_ID}")]

    public void onVmListRetrieved (request: DataByConstraintRequest,)

    result: collection ArrayCollection): void {}

    The result is an ArrayCollection of MyVmData of the objects collection

    }

    Here how should I come to know this result variable is either A or class B data model. (including the result can be a collection of empty array)

    In case of DataByModel, we have events in response to the separate data for the data model class, but I couldn't find the same for DataByConstraint.

    You can define a unique ID_Demande for each DataByConstraintRequest and check in the response Manager.  'requestId' is a field of the class of basic DataRequest.

  • vSphere Client Plugins Web - how to debug the Flex INTERFACE

    Hello:

    It seems that, in order to develop, Flex at base of plugins using the vSphere Client Plugins SDK Web and get 'full integration', the developer is encouraged to use a MVC framework which is part of the SDK. In addition, I see things that seem to indicate that, once the plugin is runing in the context of the VC, actions will be triggered by the context running, etc...

    It may seem that in order to develop a base Plugin, the user interface must be developed, compiled and deployed each time.

    How should we do about writing a typical user interface application where the developer is able to set breakpoints, etc...? I can do it now if I do not use the hooks of VmWare, such as previously mentioned, but what if I wanted to exploit the pegs supplied?

    Thanks in advance for the help.

    Have you read the SDK documentation in questions before asking your new question?

    Debugging of all is possible.
