  Hello.  I am new to Adobe Premiere and this might be a really stupid question, but it is possible to take a slice of video, a piece out of it and record this song like a new video file to use in several sequences?  For example, I have a videotape of interviews with a 100th birthday that I have attended and I would like to connect different comments in different parts of a video that I do.  But I would like to create splices of all comments I recorded, consider each comment and then organize the comments on the paper and then go back and put the clips of commentary in different parts of the video master.  How to connect the original video into smaller pieces and set them aside so I can embed clips at a later date?  I know I can cut video and leave it in my main video but I really want to put aside.  A bit like cropping of a picture and make a backup from the cropped image under a different name, so I can create a collage of pictures that result later, I crop.

  I also first elements 12 on 64-bit Windows 8.1, so we should be able to cross-check the issues present.

  If you have audio files saved on the hard drive of your computer (if those that came with the program or your own), then you can import them into a project of 12 items were created using the add media/files and folders/projects active where you drag the file to the workspace Expert Timeline (usually the soundtrack).   No, because the limiting factor is the computer is USB 2.0, which is how it connects any external drive apart the external drive. As USB 2.0 is much slower, there is no real advantage to a 7200 RPM drive. What you need is a Firewire enclosure that supports FW800 which is much faster than USB 2.0.

  Make sure that the system restore does not monitor the external drive.  SR does need to control the system drive and to the system drive, SR has only about 1 GB of space max.  Make a right click my computer and select properties then the System Restore tab to configure SR.
