Firstly, my computer is a Dell Inspiron with Windows 7

There is a lot of stuff has appeared in my windows media player and they really get on my nerves, they take a lot of space, not to mention annoying constantly!, but it tells me that I can't delete them because of the Trusted Installer, now I am the only administrator on this computer, but it keeps telling me that I must have the permissions of the administrator , ah, well, that's what I'm a dufus! LOL, if someone could give me some advice please?

Hi Corey Guthrie.

  • A programme called trust Installer has my computer now how can I solve this

    I download a program by the Trusted Installer and it seems that it is the owner of my computer with some files it says I need permission of the Trusted Installer to make changes to this file

    Hello

    Please, try the following:

    1
    right click on the file or directory that gives you the permission issues.

    2 right click and select 'Properties'.

    3 once inside the properties, select the 'Security' tab.

    4
    once inside the Security tab, select the "Advanced" option at the bottom.

    5 once in the "Advanced Security Dialog" window, click on the tab "Owner" .

    6 is where you can see the current owner (Trusted Installer).

    7 if you want to take ownership of that file or directory, click 'Edit'. UAC will ask you for permission, say Yes. Then, highlight the user name in the window "Change owner" that you want to assign as the new owner for this file or directory. Click 'OK' to finish.

    8 then, in the window "advanced security settings" , you see now that the owner has changed to that you specified. Click 'OK' to close this window and select "OK" once more to complete.

    9. follow the steps 1 to 4 to open the 'Properties' window for the file or directory once more.

    10 once inside the 'Properties' window again once, click the "Edit" button and say yes to UAC.

    11 to highlight the Administrators in the "group or user names" box. If the user ID or group that you want to manage permissions for said file or directory does not exist, click on 'Add' and type the user name that you want to have full control regarding the file or directory.

    12 once inside the permissions for the directors (or the username you chose), select "Full Control" under the "Allow" column. Click 'OK' to finish.

    Installation - 'upgrade' means what?
    Upgrade means that you can install Windows 7 simply by inserting the Windows 7 upgrade software in the DVD drive of your PC and follow the instructions on the screen. While you are not required to backup and reinstall your files, or reinstall your programs, it is a very good idea to back up your files and settings before you start any upgrade to the software. Get more information on the software updates and best practices .

    Installation - what does "Custom (Clean)" Mean?
    A custom (clean) installation clears the contents of the hard drive of your PC. Your files, settings, and programs will not be transferred to Windows 7. This means that to install Windows 7, you must:

    • Back up any files and settings you want to keep

    • Install Windows 7

    • Reinstall all your files

    • Reinstall all the programs you want to use.

    These four steps take time, skills, techniques and Windows Easy Transfer can help. However, if you are not comfortable with this process, please consider having the installation carried out by a local service provider.

  • Lightroom on a new computer - how to move photos from the LR I have on another computer

    I have Lightroom 5 installed on my laptop but now a new desktop computer. I plan to do the creative cloud because I would have access to Photoshop, but wonder if there is a way to transfer my photos from my old computer LR in the new.  Or if I have to buy LR still to have it on my new computer, first place.  Advice please? Thank you!

    Licensed Lightroom, whether it's a stand-alone license, or a creative cloud license allows you to install Lightroom on two different computers for your personal use. You can install Lightroom on the new computer, and then follow the instructions on how to move or copy the files to your current computer.

    How can I move Lightroom to a new computer? Lightroom Queen

    Each installation of Lightroom should have its own local catalog on a local drive on this computer. Some people use dropbox for the catalog so that it can be used on both computers. There are a lot of considerations when you try to work with different computers. But it can be done.

    8.3.4 Renaming a Datafile in the Primary Database

    When you rename one or more datafiles in the primary database, the change is not propagated to the standby database. Therefore, if you want to rename the same datafiles on the standby database, you must manually make the equivalent modifications on the standby database because the modifications are not performed automatically, even if the STANDBY_FILE_MANAGEMENT initialization parameter is set to AUTO.

    The following steps describe how to rename a datafile in the primary database and manually propagate the changes to the standby database.

       1.

          To rename the datafile in the primary database, take the tablespace offline:

          SQL> ALTER TABLESPACE tbs_4 OFFLINE;

       2.

          Exit from the SQL prompt and issue an operating system command, such as the following UNIX mv command, to rename the datafile on the primary system:

          % mv /disk1/oracle/oradata/payroll/tbs_4.dbf
          /disk1/oracle/oradata/payroll/tbs_x.dbf

       3.

          Rename the datafile in the primary database and bring the tablespace back online:

          SQL> ALTER TABLESPACE tbs_4 RENAME DATAFILE      2> '/disk1/oracle/oradata/payroll/tbs_4.dbf'
            3>  TO '/disk1/oracle/oradata/payroll/tbs_x.dbf';
          SQL> ALTER TABLESPACE tbs_4 ONLINE;

       4.

          Connect to the standby database, query the V$ARCHIVED_LOG view to verify all of the archived redo log files are applied, and then stop Redo Apply:

          SQL> SELECT SEQUENCE#,APPLIED FROM V$ARCHIVED_LOG ORDER BY SEQUENCE#;
          SEQUENCE# APP
          --------- ---
          8 YES
          9 YES
          10 YES
          11 YES
          4 rows selected.

          SQL> ALTER DATABASE RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY DATABASE CANCEL;

       5.

          Shut down the standby database:

          SQL> SHUTDOWN;

       6.

          Rename the datafile at the standby site using an operating system command, such as the UNIX mv command:

          % mv /disk1/oracle/oradata/payroll/tbs_4.dbf /disk1/oracle/oradata/payroll/tbs_x.dbf

       7.

          Start and mount the standby database:

          SQL> STARTUP MOUNT;

       8.

          Rename the datafile in the standby control file. Note that the STANDBY_FILE_MANAGEMENT initialization parameter must be set to MANUAL.

          SQL> ALTER DATABASE RENAME FILE '/disk1/oracle/oradata/payroll/tbs_4.dbf'
            2> TO '/disk1/oracle/oradata/payroll/tbs_x.dbf';

       9.

          On the standby database, restart Redo Apply:

          SQL> ALTER DATABASE RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY DATABASE
            2> DISCONNECT FROM SESSION;

    If you do not rename the corresponding datafile at the standby system, and then try to refresh the standby database control file, the standby database will attempt to use the renamed datafile, but it will not find it. Consequently, you will see error messages similar to the following in the alert log:

    ORA-00283: recovery session canceled due to errors
    ORA-01157: cannot identify/lock datafile 4 - see DBWR trace file
    ORA-01110: datafile 4: '/Disk1/oracle/oradata/payroll/tbs_x.dbf'

    Hope that helps.
