How to pin an app in the taskbar in Windows XP?

I have now how it works in Windows 7, but did not have to do this work in XP.  I just want to stay available in my taskbar, even if I do not some applications use it.

You can't "attach" a shortcut icon to the taskbar XP, but you can drag the shortcut to the Quick Launch bar icons? If this is allowed? Right click on the taskbar | Toolbars and check it out. Unlock the to-do bar to adjust the size you want.

    It is not possible. It is a part of UI (UI) Windows. Auto hide is the only way to temporarily hide the taskbar.

    So, I accidentally this Internet Explorer default marking from the taskbar in Windows 8 desktop.  To try to solve this problem, I have created a new shortcut on my desktop for Internet Explorer and then that pinned to the taskbar, but it behaves differently.  Before all instances of Internet Explorer appears on the taskbar under the original Internet Explorer icon.  Now when I run my new pinned shortcut IE, it generates a second icon of IE on the task bar and each additional launch IE after which translates into a small tab which is drawn on the right edge of the new icon of IE.  Anyone know how to restore the Internet Explorer task pinned original shortened to the bar that installed with Windows 8.

    I just installed Windows 7 7100 on SBS2003 R2 32 bit workstation.  Everything seems simple with two exceptions...

    1. I am trying to pin a shortcut to the taskbar, but when I I drag it to the task bar there is a red circle with a bar diagonally and it won't PIN.  When the application is running and I click right to "pin to taskbar" the only options I have are to "close the window.

    2. is there a way to remove, hide or remove a program running in the taskbar (Windows Messenger for example)?

    If I understand correctly, you want to disassociate an application under the taskbar properties.

    Unfortunately, there is no option as such in the taskbar properties.

    However, you can use your favorite search engine and looking for a software that does it for you.

    Have you clicked on the app you wanted? If you said right click Download.
