In Windows 7, there is a folder "Documents" a copy under "Photos".

On windows 7, I seem to have a double 'My documents' folder under "my pictures." This has happened only recently. I have not copied the folder or moved. Or have installed new software.  If I save a file in my normal "My Documents", then the file is replicated in the other "My Documents" under "my pictures." Can you help me because it seems like too much space on my hard drive?

See you soon

It is duplicated in your photo library or

C:\Users\\My Pictures?

If it's under the photo library

Select understands it: x locations (blue letters)

You will get a window change how library brings together its content .

Select it and then remove my documents.

I doubt that it takes more space on your hard drive.

As always, backup your documents.

%AppData%\microsoft\windows\sendto is the name of an environment variable.
    On XP, this variable points to C:\Documents and Settings\ < user > \Application Data\

  • Windows 7 users / locked the folder my documents (junction point)

I use Windows 7 and have just loaded Microsoft Office on a new laptop computer and when I try to set as default file locations in "Word" it tells me that I can't access name / my users/user documents, when I look at the way it shows a lock on the file. I looked a few answers to this problem but do not understand.  There are two users on the laptop and everyone can see other files, but not their own, in other words when I am logged in, I can see other users ' users / folder my documents but not my own and vice versa. " The result is that when I try to save a document using "save under" it comes up with access denied to folder. I know that I can choose where I want to save my colleague he needs to record simply in his papers when she was on but not save must start looking for the complete path.

Location in C:\Users\registration by default defined \Documents.  Do not use the 'My documents' folder - it is a junction point and should not be modified or used by users in some way.

  • Document cloud: is there a local folder to synchronize?

I just spent an hour with technical support that do not understand this fundamental question. If you have the Document Cloud, is there a local folder where you can put your files so that they are in two places - locally in a file and in the cloud.

It is not a difficult thing to ask, but they took me around the block and back again talking about mobile applications and other services!

Document Cloud work like DropBox or OneDrive or GoogleDrive, where you have a dedicated folder on your desktop where the files and they synchronize with the Document Cloud.

Because if it's the service, I don't have this issue.

The answer is no. Unlike creative clouds, he is no sync client or file synchronization for cloud Document yet.

  • Export the contacts from Windows Mail in a single folder

Original title: How can I export contacts from Windows Mail in a single folder. It seems that export all? Help!
Trying to export contacts to a folder only in gmail, but cannot select one.

    Hello

There is no option in Windows Mail to export a specific contact group.
You can export all contacts to Excel and edit/print as you wish.
Follow these steps to export the Windows Mail Contacts to Excel:
    a. open Windows Contacts by clicking on the Start button, all programs, and then clicking Windows Contacts.
    b. on the toolbar, click on export and then click on the CSV format.
CSV (Comma Separated Values). It is a format of generic file used to export or import information to and from databases or spreadsheets.
    c. click Export, select a folder where you want to store your contacts in the new format and then click OK.
    d. when a message appears telling you that the contacts export process is complete, click OK and then click Close.

  • Windows.Old does not list the "Documents and Settings".

I installed Windows Vista Ultimate on my main hard drive of workstations.  I looked online and saw a lot of messages on many sites saying that all my old documents of the previous version of Windows (XP that wouldn't start) should be available in the Windows.old folder, in a subfolder called Documents and Settings.  The only folders that are weProgram Files and Windows.  I tried to take possession of the entire record and made sure that Windows displays the hidden files and folders.  My username has the administrator capabilities.  I'mREALLY hoping that the files are not entirely lost.  All that I'm missing?

    Hello

Documents and settings folder must exist inside the windows.old. Check if the file is hidden and also check the Recycle Bin folder is deleted by mistake.
Or you can also use windows search to search for any document in this folder to track the location of the folder.

    I hope this helps.

  • Successfully installed XP Mode, but is not "Windows XP Mode" in the folder "Windows Virtual PC"...

Successfully, I installed XP Mode and the VPC and ran the first time very well. I installed a few programs and quit smoking. Now, I have a Windows Virtual PC folder in my Start menu. It has shortcuts to launch the programs that I have already installed and they work fine, but there is no way to start XP Mode in its own window that it was when I ran, so I can not install anything else.

All the info I've found say to select Start-> all programs-> Windows Virtual PC-> Windows XP Mode. However, in the installation of this entry is not. The only thing there is another folder containing the apps I had installed the first time.

Please offer suggestions for the restoration of the facility.

    Thank you.

  • What is the ldiag file in Windows 7? How can I stop Windows write files in this folder?

Can someone tell me what is the ldiag file in Windows 7?

Somehow, Windows creates files and writes to this file. It keeps then write files until the entire hard drive is full. In other words, there is no place to save a restore point and no place to open Outlook, etc.

When this has happened in the past, I had to contact the Microsoft response service and a level 2 technician to erase files. They said, the problem has been "fixed", but he continues to be...

Do you know what "program" in Windows write files to this folder? I think it's a kind of diagnostic file. I tried the search "help" and the community and have not found anything to answer.

Well, I hope that he is an expert in the community who can advise me on this. Thank you in advance.

Thank you for your kindness in answering this question. I worked with technician level 2 Microsoft Office of response on the issue.

I see that the files are part of the Lenovo system. Somehow, the Lenovo system analysis - triggered by something unknown to me--and wrote a text of 25 to 30 Gigabyte file!  I've identified it as a program of Lenovo, the write file and the program triggered by some unknown parameter. Then, I took the step to stop this program, Lenovo to run and then remove the text files.

The steps you suggested are 'typical' first response / suggestions that you could do in that first level. However, in this case that they had nothing to do with the real problem.

I often do a disk cleanup. This program is not clean these text files of the diagnosis of Lenovo.

I start the computer in safe mode to diagnose problems. Yet once, just for the record, being in safe mode has nothing to do with the question of the Lenovo running program.

No, there is no error message other than a message about 'disk full '. I ran a small program to see the size of the folder and was able to quickly identify the issue of file ldiag containing two text files, each about 25 gigabytes.

Once again, thank you for your suggestions, but they were just basic, 'typical' suggestions and really had nothing to do with this specific problem. However, you have correctly identified the ldiag as being a file of Lenovo. Once that technology Tier 2 response office and found out that we were able to "solve" the problem.

I'll keep the links you sent for reference.

Thank you for taking the time to answer.

  • In Windows 7, if I have several documents open in Microsoft Word, how can I get the documents that appear side by side (although reduced)

When I was with Windows XP & I opened several Word documents, the documents would appear side by side on the taskbar, although that reduced to a minimum. In Windows 7, is it possible for me to get there instead of the documents that appear on top of the other? I hope you understand what I'm describing. Thank you.

Right click on a box empty spots in your bar and select Properties, then select the option or "combine when taskbar is full".  This means that each document or file you have open will get its own key, as long as there is place so that it fits.

  • There is a folder named recycler and some shortcuts in my USB

I insert my USB in my laptop, when I open it, there is a folder named recycler and some shortcuts named copy of shortcut1, a copy of shortcut2 ect... ect... I don't know a virus or something... .and I also I formatted, but they are always there... Help, please.

    Hello Lucia,.

Windows 7 sometimes has trouble with an external drive. Try to download and install this freeware application, Aomei Partition Wizard: http://download.cnet.com/AOMEI-Partition-Assistant-Standard-Edition/3000-18512_4-75118871.html?tag=mncol;1 (only use the Direct download link).

Try formatting the USB using Aomei. See if using this external application, Windows will recognize the entire disk, free of anything else. This app has worked for others in a similar situation.

Post your results here and let me know how you fare.

    Kind regards
