How to recover the 3 TB drive is now marked as protection GPT Partition?

I used my hard drive 3 TB Seagate for quite awhile on my 64-bit Windows 8 computer. All of sudden the drive stopped working and will not appear in Windows Explorer.

However, it now appears in the window as a GB Healthy (protection GPT Partition) 746.52 disk management. When I right click on the drive in disk management, the only option I have is 'Help '.
How can I get the drive to reappear in the file Explorer using the same drive letter that I used before? I want to retrieve all my old data from the drive - I don't want to reformat the hard drive and lose all this data.
What should I do?

I finally got my drive appears. I did a number of things, but I suspect that the thing last6 that I solved it the problem. Here are the things I've done:

-updated my Nvidia driver
-updated my version of Acronis True Image
-Finally, updated my version of Intel Rapid Storage Technology Panel as described on the following link: @see http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/disk-drives/f/3534/t/19516572.aspx
I was restart my computer several times given that this problem occurred, but the last time that I restarted, the message on my screen that read it was trying to fix the problem with the drive.
I think that the last thing I did (upgrade from the Intel Control Panel) may have solved the problem. It is specific to a Dell Alienware computer, so if anyone sees this problem, my solution will probably not correct their problem unless they also have an Alienware computer.
I am always amazed as to why this problem occurred, but I relieve it is now resolved.
