  Such an entry in the context menu is probably added by a PDF file about the extension, in order to check your extensions.

  Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

  My OEX program (www.oehelp.com/OEX/) has a function that will remove attachments (and save them if you want) messages with a click of a single button that is much faster than to try to do it manually.  It has a number of other features as well.  It also works well on XP in Vista (32 bit only) for Windows Mail and OE.

  Yes, you must use Albums to be able to use the online backup feature.

  The rational is that we needed a way for you to identify what should be saved and which should not. (As requested by the early detection of user of the backup feature). Rather than create another metaphor organization around backup, we decided to exploit the existing organizational metaphor of the Albums. The other thing happening that here is that sharing is based on the concept of Albums online, and sharing and backup are using the same code to keep your files in sync with your desktop files online.

  If you just want to backup everything in your catalog, simply create a new Album entitled everything (or other), he scored for backup and then everything that put you media in it.

  The two identical lines "- 0016364eef3a6cb259049c527692 -" seem to define the attachment, and when the file is saved and dragged in my OE Inbox, it looks and reads the same, same dates etc, but with no commitment and no apparent problems with OE to open it.

  Is there a better way?

  I don't think that your question is so bad. In theory, each dbx file has a maximum capacity of 2 GB. In reality, they probably become corrupted long before that. Normally, I propose now about dbx files a 300 MB max to err on the side of caution. 0.25 GB = 250 MB, (kinda, sorta, close enough), so it's not a problem.

  You need to be most concerned with is backup OE on a regular basis. Here's my standard advice for OE. Last mentioned is OEQB backup tool that is invaluable, still free.

  General precautions for Outlook Express:

  Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

  After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

  Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

  Hello!

  Thunderbird has no way of native to do, but you might consider the AttachmentExtractor for Thunderbird Add-on.

  Once it is installed, you can select all the emails that you want to download the parts attached and right click then click on "extract selected Messages to' > 'Browse (0)' and then choose the directory you want to save the attachments to.
