    First of all, you need to remove the dual-boot scenario (this is why you cannot format).  Here is the procedure - it is generic, but should work with these operating systems as wel (this is the second series):http://www.ehow.com/how_4558992_delete-computer-operating-system.html.

    Once you start only in Windows7 (you have more choice at the start), you should be able to use Windows7 to format the disk containing Vista and then you're done.

    Be very careful, because change startup files can cause you to lose access to the two systems - not only the Vista-if you do not correctly.  I suggest that ask you that question in the Windows7 Forums; http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/windows7 of confirmation for Windows7 is what you want to keep.

    GParted is don t know for me.
    Always is it that your laptop needs to install the SATA driver if you want to install XP on this laptop.
    The Intel Matrix Storage Manager contains the SATA drivers, and you can download from the Toshiba page or from the Intel page too.

    Back to the installation procedure.
    You have two options;
    You install the SATA drive external floppy driver by pressing the F6 key during XP Setup process or you will create a clean XP CD using the nLite.

    The two procedures work for sure. In your case if it n t work properly, then * you did something wrong! *
    And I recommend to repeat this procedure over and over again and recommend that you check each bet twice!

    You can also erase all partitions in Vista if you want to use the XP.

    Malwarebytes' Anti-malware (MBAM) or SuperAntiSpyware will often do the job. Both have free versions and you don't need to buy these programs.

    These can work for you, and all can be good. However, in many cases the computer will also infected with other horses of Trojan and protected by a rootkit. These machines are extremely difficult to clean. If your machine is one of these cases, either the interactive assistance to one of the specialty forums listed in the link below, OR take your machine to a professional on the local computer OR backup your data and do a clean install of Windows.
