  I'm setting up a test program that detects if Excel is open. I used the command line TaskList from the Exec.vi system to give me a list of running processes, and then do a search on excel.exe by using the search function and Replce I use the offset passed indicator replacement wired to a greater than 0 primitive to determine whether Excel is indeed running.

  If the primitive returns false, I can open the file by using the new Report.vi with the templete contntrol wired in. If it returns true, I want to see if the workbook is loaded and if not, load.   Why do you need to close Excel?  If your model is already open, the new report VI will grab the open reference and use it (if the file has already been registered).

• Design problem - can not do the persistable class

  Basically I have a best score of the class that implements Persistable I want to either extend SimpleSortingVector or contain private SimpleSortingVector.

  However, as SimpleSortingVector is NOT persistent, I can't make HighScore Persistable.

  I guess that means I can't as unsimple extend SimpleSortingVector and make the persistable subclassing, then how the hell do I I still my class?

  I know not glib, but there are essentially two approaches:

  1 figure how do a "mailto:" link that passes the information you need (partitions, etc.) to the user's email client.

  Problem A: users will need TO have a client installed messaging, like Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.

  B problem: users will see that email content, editing and will have to manually click 'send '.

  2 set up a program of mailer on a Web server that your Captivate project can 'POST' the data to.

  Problem: you need a Web server, a program of mailer and a page that will receive the posted data (PHP, JSP, ASP, .NET)

  B problem: you will need some kind of security around this script mailer or spammers surely find and use it to send their own spam stuff.

  Do you REALLY need to send by e-mail?

  May be preferable to an internal server.

  I tried a lot of things, but it is not working properly.

  I logfiles with the data of one ore more test ports. All entries in log file has a time stamp.  Timestamps are not equidistant. I can read the log file and get a table 1 d (n long elements) of the timestamps and a table 2D data (n x m elements m test ports).

  How to generate a report in the tiara with the time that x-axis it? The difficult is, I can't transfer the timescale to tiara.

  I could first convert timestamps double and double transfer al. This does not solve my problem. The tiara-channel resulting if of type 'float' and not 'time '. I need a script to swich the channel to 'time'. I see no solution to load a layout of report (TDR), to call a script to transfer data from additional text.

  When you write a channel timestamp in a PDM file, tiara automatically identifies it as a weather channel. So when you export the right data, you will get good results ;-).

  To illustrate this, I wrote an example VI: it creates two TDMS files with random timestamps and displays then the two files into a single report of DIAdem. I hope that you find it useful.

What would work better would be if I could instantiate a class singleton when coldfusion starts, but I have no idea how to do that.
