Contact hp and ask them to send you a set of xp recovery disc

they do it for a nominal cost

also ask them if you can have a recovery hard disk partition

but I think it's unlikely, because they initially provide you with disks

    Hello

You n t need to use the Toshiba Recovery disk if you want to you can use a Microsoft Windows clean disk in order to install the Windows operating system on your device.

The necessary drivers and tools can be found and downloaded from the Toshiba driver page.

I did in several times, I have my own CD Win XP and I was able to install Win XP without the use of the recovery disk

    Hello

AFAIK, restore (F8) image of HDD factory settings will delete all data on the C: drive. Using recovery disks it will delete all data on the local local c and D: (hard disk image file creation). If you have some important data moving to device drives or dvd external usb for all cases. That's all I can suggest

  • Satellite 1900-102 how to restore XP CD without a recovery Cd?

    Hello

I'm looking for a solution to my problems.

I would format XP Home / or return to the initial configuration and at the end to make a dual-boot with a distribution of linux (Fedora or Ubuntu).
But I have no cd/dvd recovery or XP installation cd and I can not buy mediabackup online.

How can I do? Is it possible to format HARD drive with another XP cd that I was coming home from a relative/friend? Is it possible to format with an OEM - XP cd?
Is it possible to get the Toshiba help or not?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello

    > Is it possible to format with an OEM - XP cd?
    > Is it possible to get the Toshiba help or not?

You need a Setup disk if you want to install a Windows XP operating system.
Unfortunately, the laptop seems to be very old and I don t think you will be able to order a recovery disc, you will need to purchase the Microsoft Win XP.

After Installing Win XP boot, you can download all the drivers for this laptop from Toshiba's European driver page. The drivers are located in the archives. (on page Toshiba European pilot, in product type click Archive instead of the laptop)

    Hello!

I think that every resident has reason. You can restore t to factory settings on the recovery disk Toshiba no CD/DVD drive work.
If you want to use the Toshiba Recovery disk, you need to replace the CD/DVD drive!

But as resident suggested, you can install Windows XP with a disc of Microsoft. Therefore, you don't need a CD/DVD drive work.

It of your choice what you do! Either you replace the CD/DVD drive, or you use a disk of Microsoft.

    Hello

Could you please tell me what model of laptop you have exactly?
Have you changed the system of Windows in the past?

With regard to the installation of the system:
Laptop Toshiba computers come preinstalled with an image of Toshiba and, usually, you can retrieve the computer laptop initial configuration by using the option of recovery of HARD drive or you can use the Toshiba recovery media that you create using the preinstalled tool called Toshiba Recovery Media Creator.

This software allows you to create a flash disk or recovery recovery memory stick.
In your case, it would be desirable to create a flash memory stick, because the phone was not equipped with a CD/DVD drive.

I recommend you to check the following documents from Toshiba on the system recovery procedure:

  • Re: Satellite A300 - how to restore the original condition?

    Hello

My computer freezes for a second or 2 from time to time and Toshiba support told me it might be a software problem. I don't think, because he began the day I bought the laptop and the display driver keeps on the work stoppage, but because I said that if it's a software problem.
I would have to pay for it, I want to try everything before sending it for repair. This is why I would like to restore my Satellite in its original state as he was just at the moment where I bought it.

So basically I have 2 questions:

1 - does anyone have any idea why it keeps freezing on me? And what I should try to do to fix it?
    2. can someone tell me how to restore the laptop to its original state?

    Thank you very much Dina

    Hello

To determine if it of a software problem or not, you need to restore the factory setting and if it doesn't work you can go to an authorized service provider. They can repair the laptop for you.

The factory settings can be restored with the Toshiba recovery disc. I guess that your laptop has been delivered with Windows Vista, if you have options to restore factory settings: the Toshiba disk recovery or HARD drive recovery service.

HARD drive recovery function formats the first partition of your laptop and install Vista again with all the drivers and tools of Toshiba. It is an image that is stored on the second partition of HARD drive in the folder HDDRecovery.
If you go into the advanced with F8 boot menu after you start the computer, you can start this feature of Toshiba. And then select Repair my computer and some Windows files will be loaded. Then, you can choose the function to drive HARD Toshiba Recovery and follow the instructions on the screen.

The Toshiba Recovery disk, you must create first, or have you done this yet? Normally, you get a reminder of recovery message after the first start of the laptop that you must burn this disc. Therefore, you must the preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator and the image in the folder in HARD drive recovery will be burned on the disc. Then you have a startup disk that can restore the factory settings and HARD whole disc formats then back up your data first!
The recovery disk is necessary if you have a new HDD or Windows start doesn t. Otherwise, you can use HARD drive recovery.

I hope I could help a bit and now you understand how to restore the factory settings.
If you have any other questions, please let us know! :)

  • How to restore my computer hp 620 laptop

Hello! Will you please help me with options on how to restore my computer laptop hp 620 with windows 7. Its screen is broken, so I use an external monitor that does not display the setting procedure

    Luckies Hello,

You may be able to switch monitors by holding the fn key and tapping on the F4 key at the beginning.

The part that I don't know is if she will go outside without having first cut the broken screen.

Some computers laptops will and some used. If you need to disconnect the screen first, you may not use the combo fn.

Page 156 shows the disassembly of the screen in the manual.  emr_na-c02780494 - 1.pdf

Also to access Recovery Mode, you press the ESC key to get an options screen, and then press F11. But I think you would need to first try the combo fn.

Let me know how it goes.
