  You can restore to normal full image (well close to normal) just using the USB Flash drive and a hard disk formatted, white (with a system partition at least as large as the partition which it replaced)- and, of course, the backup drive.  I see no reason why a bitlocker recovery will be different - after all, it's just not added encryption process (although the exact procedure may vary because you may need to supply a password to authenticate the restore function and decrypt the files as they are restored - that's why it doesn't happen on the CD).  Of course, this means that you must have done a full image backup using bitlocker (not a full backup or a file backup).

  Bad, bad. Buddy. Generally, you need to create the recovery to the first disk using the laptop.

  Either you'll assign compatible SATA mode (in BIOS)
  Or you must include the Windows XP SATA drivers.

  Win 7 and Win 8, Documents and Settings is a folder hidden, locked, unlike XP.

  Documents, videos, photos and etc are now included in the C:\Users\User name, and that's where your installed programs will send them.

  You can change their default location, and your software usually sends to the new location because of the way it is redirected.

  When a program is something important, is usually not a physical copy of the file. It basically accesses its location of origin, as if the imported file is just a shortcut to the original.

  Your Outlook was simply looking for the file to its actual location through the 'shortcut '.

  Most all programs have an OPTIONS, PREFERENCES, or SETTINGS button somewhere.

  Search through the links at the top of File, Edit, help, etc. It should be in one of these if ut doesn't have its own icon... a gear, for example.

  It is usually best to make a clone with an external drive. It makes no sense given the power (spinning). Seagate and WD offer similar programs, called 'DiskWizard '.

  I think that the whole operating system will be restored in a new virtual machine... I have it... The changes will have to be done in the file listener.ora (hostname or IPADDRESS and also PORT NO in case you want another port as the existing one). Once you have made the changes that you have to bounce the listener, I mean stop and start the listener... I don't think that any other changes are needed... Make sure that the same need for entries (from the listener) to be included in the TNSNAMES file. ORA file both client-side... The tns service is used to connect to the remote database server (from the demand side or whatever source you used to connect to the database server)... I just think that the change to do...   It is possible that you have removed the external device without using the option remove the device safely. Restart the machine and try again.
