There are three main ways to restore your laptop to its 'Condition of the factory' - see the document on the corresponding link below.

Perform a recovery of the HP system - Windows 7.

Perform a recovery of the HP - Windows Vista system.

Computer was working on, they must have cut off System Restore. Now, I have no restore point and says I don't have enough memory, but I do, so I can't do anything! I need to restore to the factory. can anyone help?

    Hello Brenda Rawls.

Restore points take back you to the factory settings.

Press F11 at startup to start the process of HP recovery to return to factory settings.

The process is illustrated on this HP link.

Depends on how paranoid you are, and if your computer is equipped with a provided by the manufacturer "restore hidden partition."

When a computer manufacturer sells you a computer with Windows preinstalled, part of the Microsoft license agreement requires that it provides a way to reinstall the operating system.  In the old days, you will get a physical media (CD or floppy disks even), but for a number of years, manufacturers have been rather including hidden software on the disk hard drive that by operating, restores the computer to the way it was when it left the factory.

How this restoration software is started depends on the brand and model of your computer.  See your user's Guide, go to the website of the manufacturer of the computer or identify the make and model in a response here.

Running these software in general should replace anything currently on the hard disk, including your personal information.

For more security, before running the software 'restore', you can delete any personal data that you know (there are still a few traces in the Windows registry and other locations of the system), and then run a utility that wipes free space and soft space on the disk.  See http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-secure-erase-utility.htm

If you have a Windows installation CD to give to the buyer - or if you do not care to sell a computer without an operating system - download Darik Boot and Nuke (DBAN).  This utility will erase safely any hard drive, including the operating system.

The extremely paranoid, including some administrations in three letters, remove hard disks and either keep for reuse or physically destroy them (by cutting, drilling, or fusion).

I know how to restore my computer to an earlier date, (how to clear the dates I'm not?)

    See: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306084

This article describes how to use the System Restore tool to restore your computer to a previous state. System Restore takes a "snapshot" of critical system files and some program files and the registry settings and stores this information as restore points. If your computer is not working properly, you can use these points to return Windows XP to a previous state when your computer was working properly restore. It can also change scripts, batch files, and other types of executable files on your computer.

  • How to restore my computer hp 620 laptop

Hello! Will you please help me with options on how to restore my computer laptop hp 620 with windows 7. Its screen is broken, so I use an external monitor that does not display the setting procedure

    Luckies Hello,

You may be able to switch monitors by holding the fn key and tapping on the F4 key at the beginning.

The part that I don't know is if she will go outside without having first cut the broken screen.

Some computers laptops will and some used. If you need to disconnect the screen first, you may not use the combo fn.

Page 156 shows the disassembly of the screen in the manual.  emr_na-c02780494 - 1.pdf

Also to access Recovery Mode, you press the ESC key to get an options screen, and then press F11. But I think you would need to first try the combo fn.

Let me know how it goes.

  • How to restore my computer?

    Hello.

I have a problem with my computer. I wanted to restore my computer for some reason. The problem is that a few days ago I opened it and almost all of the programs and applications have been removed and obviously I do not know why. Even when I open the menu start there no program in all the files in there.

    Need help!

    Hello Marti

Your only option and of course the best way to resolve this strange matter, is recovery image installation.
After that this laptop will be the same as on the first day after the purchase.

Check the document posted by Timox. You will find detailed instructions on the installation of HARD drive recovery.
If your computer starts correctly and everything will be ok if you please, as long as the first thing, create a recovery media and make backup recovery image. You can do this by using preinstalled Toshiba recovery media creator tool.

If something goes wrong with the recovery image saved on the HARD drive or the HARD drive is faulty, you will have media bootable recovery you can use for recovery image installation. It is very, very important for you.

I hope that you will be able to reinstall the operating system on your machine. A few comments would be greatly appreciated.

I can't restore my computer to this day of erlear

As the forums MS Answers does not prompt for any information system when a new question is asked, we know absolutely nothing about your system.

Not knowing the basic information a problem prolongs the frustration and the agony of these issues.

Also, we don't know what happens when you try to restore your computer - not to mention that it does not work!

See how it works and answer questions, better you can:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a genuine XP installation CD bootable, which is the same Service as your installed Service Pack (this is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, MSE, Comodo, etc..

What is the issue that you are experiencing that you think that the system restore will be remedied (or you are just convenient)?  Remember that the system restore is not a time machine.

Have you ever used the system restore to restore your system in the past?

Describe exactly what happens when you try to perform a system restore and the error messages you see which indicates that it does not work.

Some tools Anti Virus 'protect' your system so that they will not allow a restore of the system work properly.

For example, if you use Norton/Symantec products, you will see a message like this:

Restoration incomplete. Your computer cannot be restored...

It is also a popular Symantec problem (well, I'll be polite and call an "undocumented feature"...), they wrote an article about it:

    http://Service1.Symantec.com/support/sharedtech.nsf/pfdocs/2005113009323013

According to what you use for malware protection, you may need to disable the product temporarily, do the system restore and then turn the products light up again when the system restore is complete.

Sometimes you need start your system in Mode safe and so that your protection programs are not running, and then do the system restore.  Tips from Microsoft in some of their articles that if the system restore does not restore your computer, start in Safe Mode, and then run the system restore.  It works for some configurations.

System Restore is sometimes so afflicted or Restore Points are suspicious, the best solution is to reinstall your system restore.  This will remove the old Restore Points, but sometimes it's the only way to fix a broken system restore.  You don't have to reinstall XP, only the part of system restore.

That can leave you with your problem of unspecified origin that you hope the system restore will fix (using a system restore is usually not equivalent to fixing the problem though).

Give these ideas some consideration if they apply to you.

Sometimes malicious will afflict your system restore to prevent you to find and remove malware.  It would much rather you trick into thinking that you need to repair or reinstall your XP when it is not necessary.

No matter what you use for protection against malware, I do so and then only begin to solve any problems:

Download, install, update, and make at least a full scan with these free malware detection programs can solve any problems:

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

It can be uninstalled later if you wish.

The scans by operating clean, reboot, test and we can fix any other issues.
