How to restore my system beyond the 4 days that the system of lists?

When I go to the system restore, it works. But it lists a very limited number of restore dates and times. He let me just go back 4 days. Even with the checked box that supposed to add additional dates, the list remains unchanged. The list is always the same. I don't want to restore original configuration at this point. I need files my computer to a time before which system restores offers.

Hello

Basically, if there is no restore points, you can not go. The system stores only both of them according to the parameters of storage shadow volume and space system available, and oldest are removed as new ones are created. In addition, some updates will remove all old restore points to avoid potential conflicts. You can only restore to the points that are still available, you can not force the system to all go back higher than what is available.

Maybe if you post about the problem you're trying to solve, it can be an alternative solution.

    Hello

System Restore puts your computer's settings to a date earlied.

You mean that recovery of the system.

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • HOW TO RESTORE TRANSFER DIRECT TO THE SONGS IN MY MUSIC FOLDER

Desktop computer with Windows XP, Professional Version, and Service Pack 3. Since March 2, 2015, the browser is Firefox with Google.
Before that, I used Firefox Portable Edition. Our public library offers a download of a company called Freegal music service.
The process is to click Download an individual song that produces a popup that I click on save. He produced a second popup that allows me to transfer the song to a folder selected in MY music. This routine worked fine with Firefox Portable Edition. However, after that I recently installed Firefox, the second popup which would be used to transfer the song to my music does not appear and that's the end of the routine with Freegal. Firefox sends the song downloaded to two places in my computer that are Documents\Downloads my D: and C: Documents and Settings\Administration\Recent. I have two hard drives in use on this computer because of its limited memory. Then copy and paste the song of Documents D:------downloads in the folder selected in my music.
The library has no reported problems recently with Freegal. I guess the recent download of Firefox is its last edition, and I must say that it is a very fast browser. It is more convenient transfer the song to my music was intended by Freegal that the road should I use as described above.
I would appreciate comments on why this happens, because Firefox Portable Edition did not have this problem.
Any suggestions on how to restore this function in Freegal would also be appreciated.
    Please consider this message.

You should have an option to choose where to go downloads.

    • See _downloads Start , homepage, tabs and download settings
    • Use: Firefox button {(trois bar icône)-> Preferences-> |} General | Choose a download location (), or always ask

I'm sorry that I have no knowledge on Freegal.
(There are alternative possible workaround, thanks to another, 2nd, additional profiles for music downloads)

  • How to restore a pc with the recovery disk?

my pc crashed, wouldn't boot up.pressed f10 it restored until I knew it .i could kick myself for that, because I lost all my pix and files.now my pc seems to be missing something, because I can't get some of my programs to work.i think my recovery disk is corrupted and I need to recover my pc using the disc.can install someone shed some light on this for me?

a recovery of the system is the same as the factory restore.  If your computer is shipped with the OS pre-installed, then it is likely, that you have the opportunity to do a factory restore, which will wipe the drive clean of all data and restore the default OS and programs with which the computer originally provided.

However, if you can borrow a cd of win xp, you can try to repair your current installation via the recovery console.  There are some commands that you can run that can fix and adjust some things in order to stabilize the operating system.

either said by the way, don't be a system restore confused with a system recovery or factory restore.   I know it seems a little confused.

However, a system restore is the feature offered by the built in windows system restore feature, and it is not the same as a system recovery or factory restore.

    just some info.

  • How to restore a System Restore Points

Hi, Im because my Sidebar does not work because I accidentally delete some files of it so I search the Web for fix but it does not work with me so my last string is the restoration of the system, but it was deleted when my Sidebar is very good to have a problem with my Vista Im hoping I can still restore my system February Restore Points is Possible? Thank you

If you mean that you can recover restore points dating back to before those listed when you view available restoration done the answer is no.  Once they are deleted, they are gone.  Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear. The only exception is if you do full image backups and a version that includes the restore points, you want to have.  You can then restore the backup and get to those of restore points (BUT and this is a big BUT, you would lose anything done since the backup was performed, including your data and installed programs revised parameters.)  You can solve the problem of data by performing a full backup of your data (I mean ALL of your data, not only that of your profile - including e-mail, orthographic processing of data bases databases, etc.) before restoring and then after restore the image, restore the backup data - but you could do anything to solve the problem with programs or settings).  The full image backup is only available with Vista Business, Vista Enterprise and Ultimate for Vista (or if you have a 3rd party installed as Acronis True Image 2010 program).

In fact, restore point files can still be on your system, but the recovery of party 3 tools to get their (assuming they have not already been crushed which is quite likely, given the time) would not be able to identify them because they are not listed with names and dates , but apparently without meaning codes-, then there is no real way of finding Taylor with all other files there.  I do not know if the recovery programs will work with restore point files (they are different from other files).  Maybe a data recovery technician can recover, but they give no guarantees that they will succeed and they cost a lot of money (not less if they come empty)- but the decision is yours.

System Restore uses up to 15% of hard drive you to save restore points and can do it manually, automatically on a periodic basis or with certain functions (such as the installation of Windows updates).  Gives you generally a period of time long enough to work with - most people rarely use those who have more than a few days (because they notice the problems and try restoring the system quickly after that).  You can change (decrease) the amount of space occupied by the restore points as described in the following article: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/reduce-system-restores-disk-usage-in-vista/.  It saves space, but you have less available restore points - it is a compromise.

I hope that this same help if this isn't the answer you wanted to hear.
