• How to control the speed of an animation in Flash Catalyst

  I created a simple slideshow in Flash and published as a .swf file. The slideshow contains little pictures and animation takes about 45 seconds to run at 8 frames per second. When I imported into Flash Catalyst, the animationa turns very quickly, taking only about 15 seconds to get through the whole slideshow.  I have re-adjusted the Flash animation to make it run more slowly, but when I imported the new version of flash catalyst, it rotates at the same speed, - always very fast.

  Is it possible for me to control the speed of my animation film and runs the same speed I've implemented in Flash?

  I don't know of a way. Flash Catalyst works at 24 frames per second, so any imported SWFs will run at the same speed of reading. Could recreate you the slideshow as a component with Flash Catalyst? It might be easier that by adjusting the slide show in Flash Professional.

  You also may need to remove the old imported SWF and import the SWF file adjusted, just to be sure that it uses the correct version.

  The issue is that Flash Catalyst uses the theme of the wire. Validators appear this way on this topic. What to do, once you have finished with the project, take back into Flash Builder and change the theme. This can be done in the framework of the project > properties > Flex theme > Spark

  Hey everybody.  I made a video in Flash Pro, and I want to be able to play in Flash Catalyst.  I use 5.5 of the two versions, btw.  I have Flash Pro video export to a .mov file and then use Media Encoder for which make a .flv file.  I put this file in CF and publish on the web.  However, when I put these files "deploy on the web" on my site Web, the video does not play.  Everything works except for the video.  So I put a short, generic .flv file I downloaded from the internet in my CF file.  I published on my site again, and everything worked fine.  The video is played.  Then of course, the problem with my video must be in the encoding process.

  How should I do this?  I read an article online that said when I export a file .mov for CF, I make sure that I don't have "Fast - compressed header" selected in the Streaming options.  Well, I checked and I do not have.  It's a little less regular 'fast '.  So what I'm doing wrong here?  I tried to convert my .mov file in an f4v file, and it does not work.  Help here would be greatly appreciated.

  I am using Windows 7 64 bit operating system. I installed Adobe creative suite CS5, which is 32-bit. The application is installed in C:\Program files (x 86).

  Solution: -.

  (1) right-click on the shortcut file "Adobe Flash Catalyst CS5.lnk"

  2) click on the shortcut tab

  (3) add the following setting -data "catalyst %APPDATA%\Adobe\Flash" (after "C:\program file (x 86) \Adobe\Adobe Flash Catalyst.exe ')

  This step will redirect files and folders created when running the user profile.

  I've seen reports of this. Take the trial of Flash Builder, open the Flash Catalyst in this file to make the change. You might get a better error as well.

  As a point of reference, the file size of creating a banner in Flash Catalyst will be quite high. I do not recommend the use of Flash Catalyst to create banners for use on a production site.

  It is not supported for round tripping between Flash Catalyst 1.0 and Flash Catalyst CS5.5. When FC won round-trip support with Flash Builder, he had to migrate to the current version of the Flex framework. There is a reduction in education (if you qualify) for CF CS5.5.

  I have create a skinnable in Flash Bulder 4.5 component - where I would include a DropDownList or combobox control. In doing so, I get a compatibility warning and am not able to import using the componenen in catalyst 1.5.   Flash Catalyst 5.5 supports only a limited set of Spark components. The drop-down list unfortunately isn't one of them. Although several other components have been improved MX spark with the 4.5 Flex framework update, they were not included as "natives" components in Flash Catalyst. You can always include the component and ignore the warning of computability, but the actual counting of the component has to be via Flash Builder, and Flash Catalyst.
