On my new laptop, it allows to print very well however evertime I try and open HP scan Pro it immediately crashes or not responding. I tried to update all my drivers and software, but it just seems to be totally unable to open. I really don't know what to try next?

  I had tried most of the steps that you propose before displaying the original question, but thinaks for suggesting it is useful to check.

  I managed to fix it myself.

  Basically the pop-up window was left during a previous installation of HP hardware. Even though I used the uninstall program provided, it was not completely uninstalled (annoying). So I uninstalled the new printer and then went through the registry and deleted any reference to previous material, the new printer, any other hardware HP, etc... I do not get into the registry to do this kind of thing but if the 'correct' uninstall program do not do so I have no choice.

  I then installed the printer again and it works fine. Now when I press the button it scans directly to the computer of choice and Windows Explorer appears to show the new file.

  If someone else is a similar problem and plan to do what I did then I have to remind you of the dangers of editting the registry...
