  Hi expert,
  I'd like to hear your comments on how to put in place a good policy to query the database of Production.
  We have a group of developers to report that sometimes run report against Production and took about 3 hours and almost consuming 100% of CPU.
  I need to put in place a policy of good but not ridiculous for this.
  
  My senior DBA insist on limiting the time as no more than 5 minutes, which I disagree. I think time is not a matter as long as it is not breaking the system. However, our developers in my opinion have a knowledge of Oracle. This is why we must put in place a policy which is good and easy to be digested by them. I think it is the reason for my senior DBA to take the shortcut of plan for the application of the limit of 5 minutes for the query.

  There is a very simple strategy, which can be implemented rightaway:

  Developers should not be near any system of production, and no test code should be run on a production database.
  You simply implement the Production, acceptance, Test strategy, where acceptance is hosting a realistic production as a version of the database.
  If it works on the database of acceptance, it can be run on production.

  Involve other correct strategies
  -limit the amount of time processor
  -limit the amount of disk i/o
  etc., using profiles
  This means that the session is disconnected, once a limit is exceeded.

  The Resource Manager using Oracle is a different option, which will allow the list of unwanted users at a lower priority, but it is an additional burden.

  Finally, "developers" are the only virus against no scan anti-virus software to protect your server.

  To return to the home screen, you must slide up from the bottom of the screen. You need to make the same gesture, using your mouse when you use the Simulator. Drag the mouse with the lower edge of the screen to the top.

  I'm trying to understand how to set programmatically the current node in a tree view of the ADF.

  My use case example is quite simple; If we take the sample application ADF Summit where under Management Summit, we have a tree view on the left with a list of high level of the country which in turn contain a subset of customers; then, in the right pane, we the customer detail information.

  What I'm trying to achieve is a solution by which I can add a new customer, commit and then to the tree show the client newly created as the currently selected entry.

  I use a pop-up dialog box to create my new entry of the customer and everything works well in this area, and my newly created folder is saved in the database.

  I know how to force the tree to cool off, but what I can't understand is how to do so, it highlights the newly created folder.

  Any help would be much appreciated.

  Hello and welcome to the forums.  You don't say what version of Captivate you use, but if you have version 5 or 5.5, the answer is Yes, you can have a blade of legend of text on the screen.  You can use a to do.  To open the effect controls panel, use the window menu, and then select effects.  Select the caption text that you want to have the scroll.  I'll demonstrate using version 5.  You should see:

  

  Click on the fx to open the menu effects.  Select the trajectory, then RightToLeft.

  Drag the right end of the effect of RightToLeft to length of parchment.  Here I show that I have extended it to the length of the slide, 3 seconds:

  

  Then look at the text of the caption on the slide.  If it is enabled, you should see a 1 in his lower right:

  

  The 1-click and you will get starting and ending points of the motioin effect.  Drag the start point at the right edge of the blade and the end point at the left edge of the slide.

  

  When the slide plays, the text caption will start on the right edge of the screen and pass through and leave the left edge of the screen in 3 seconds.
