How to stop a program that runs as administrator

When you start a program that I use regularly, I clicked "run as administrator", how can I fix this so the program no longer works as an administrator?

I tried to go in the properties and uncheck "run as Administrator".

Help, please!

The "Run as Administrator" option in the menu popup is used only once when you select.  It is not stored and permantently used for future time you use the program.

Just close the program, then click the icon to open it normally and it is no longer "will run as an administrator" unless tell you him again.

    Hello

Without knowing the programs you want to disable, I'll start by saying that I can't be responsible for adverse effect to the normal operation of your system.

    That said...

    • Click Start
    • Type msconfig and press enter
    • Click on the Startup tab

You will see checkboxes for programs that run at startup.

Or you can use a more comprehensive tool called autoruns...

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

Maybe is a better way to explore the settings for the programs themselves, there is often a check box for "do not run at startup.

Control Panel has this option but ask me to turn on windows Defender.  When I do this windows Defender comes with an error 0x800705b4.  Why is this and why windows defender even get involved?

.. Why does windows defender even get involved

Is that a way to disable a startup program is through Windows Defender.

.... When I do this windows Defender comes with an error 0x800705b4. Why is this

This is because you have one of the following programs installed antivirus (AV)...

    Norton
    McAfee
    AVG
    Microsofy Security Essentials (MSE)

The AVs have their own advocate. To run 2 defenders in the same computer will create conflicts.
Therefore, Windows Defender will get SHUT DOWN.
This is why you received the error 0x800705b4 code when you tried to activate Windows Defender.

    .............................................................................................

However, the explanation of the reasons for which it is given, here is a way to disable startup programs without using Windows Defender...

Start > in the search box, type msconfig > Enter > click Start > here is the list of startup programs.

To disable, uncheck the box in front.

To activate... check the box opposite.

The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:

Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in.  Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.)  You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory.  This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

How to stop startup programs unnecessary upward poping when I start my pc

How to stop startup programs unnecessary upward poping when I start my pc

First of all, note that you should be in * all * the programs that start automatically, not only with those who are in the system tray. Not all the programs auto-start manifesting by an icon in the status bar.

On each program, you don't want to automatically start, check its Options to see if she has the choice to not start (make sure that you actually choose to not run, not simply a "don't display the icon" option). Many can easily and better be arrested like that. If this does not work, run MSCONFIG from the start. Run the line and on the Startup tab, uncheck the programs that you do not want to automatically start.

However, if I were you, I wouldn't do this just for the purpose of the minimum number of running programs. Despite what a lot of people tell you, you should be concerned, not with the way * a lot * of these programs you run, but * that *. Some of them can seriously affect the performance, but others have no effect on performance.

Don't stop all programs to run willy-nilly. What you need to do is to determine what each program is that its value is for you and what the performance cost is running all the time. You can try searching the Internet and ask questions about the details here.

Once you have this information, you can make a smart informed decision on what you want to keep and what you want to get rid of.

  • Defender error 0 x 80070424 with "Stop a program from running at startup."

With Vista, I get Defender error 0 x 80070424 when I click on ' default programs: stop a program from running at startup. "  How can I make changes to startup?

    Hello

If you use Norton, AVG, Avira, Microsoft Security Essentials, McAfee, etc. the default action is for Windows Defender must be disabled, that these AntiVirus programs have their own Antispyware Applications.

    There is nothing to worry.

Using both programs at the same time can cause system conflicts, etc.

To now change the Vista startup programs without using Defender, use one of these methods:

  • program that runs in the background freezes mouse

There is a program in the background, and I can't do anything because it freezes my mouse all the time.  When I go to the control panel and attempt to "stop a program from running at startup", a window appears telling me to turn on Windows Defender. This stupid popup won't let me stop programs from running at startup.  Someone knows how to fix this?  Thank you!

    Hello

Put the computer to boot and see if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: follow step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

Note: identify the program that is causing the problem by doing as from the above proposed link.

    Hope this information helps.
