How to stop Firefox to get suddenly an error message saying tabs are still open at the opening of the browser?

We have a MAC OS X 10.6.8 and all of a sudden, when we close Mozilla (at the same time using the red x and 'Quit') the next time we open Mozilla, it has a "well this is embarrassing" screen of error and we ask if we want to reopen our last session. Then it will be some email, Web page, fb page etc. who we were and that we can close or reopen it.

It started last week, we had the computer 2 years and have never had this problem before. I tried to restart Mozilla and after a few hours it started to do it again.

Hello, this requires a more recent version of firefox. to work around the problem in the meantime, you can try this: enter about: config in the address bar of firefox (confirmed the message information where it appears) and search for the preference named browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash. Double-click it and change its value to false.
