How to stop Inspiron 530 desktop (XP) sleep/wake extended?

I am trying to adjust the settings on my Inspiron 530 desktop (XP) so that it does not Hibernate mode or standby.  Under "power options properties", I have the 'Enable the hibernation' box unchecked, but that did not work.  In the morning, the power button blinks, put into hibernation.  Can someone help me with this?  Please?

In addition, as a question aside, is there another place to plug the headphones in addition before?  Is there a plug in the back that would work?

Thank you, in advance.

Hi Reg232

Please write to us.

Please click on this link and install the video drivers according to the video card on the computer.

  • How to get or install a 2nd HD for Inspiron 530 desktop PC

    I'm helping a colleague to set up a new Dell Inspiron 530 desktop computer. It is not possible to order this online with a 2nd hard drive system. He's thinking about controlling the system with a single HD, then buy another HD locally and adding.

    However, what I saw inside my elderly parents Dimension 521, Dell goes HD using a plastic slider/support type and not with the 4 screws usual. I guess that the Inspiron desktop computer uses a similar system and that the plastic support is necessary to mount the HD in the case.

    I would like more details on this subject. Is there room to the desktop Inspiron for a 2nd HD? Is it possible to order the HD mounting bracket separately and how? Alternatively, if you place your order by phone, would it be possible to have the 2nd HD included in the original order of the system.

  • Graphics card for Inspiron 530 desktop PC

    I need a replacement of the graphics card for a Dell Inspiron 530, I got in 2008.  Any suggestions?

    Assuming you have the Inspiron 530 mini tour and not the Slimline version.

    You could install a GeForce 9400 GT 1 GB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x 16, with the default 300w power supply.

    I've been using same GeForce 9400 GT 1 GB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x 16 in the Inspiron 530, with the supply POWER Dell 300w, without any problem.

    The GeForce GT 240 1 GB 128 - bit DDR5 PCI Express 2.0 ready video card x 16 HDCP, would be also compatible.

    If you want to install a more powerful video card, this would require the set power level.

    Hi Sam,

    A power plan is a collection of hardware settings and system that manages how your computer uses and conserves energy. Power management can save energy, maximize system performance, or balance conservation of energy with performance.

    Let us try these methods.

    Method 1.

    You can run the troubleshooter of power to set your computer's power settings. The resolution of the problems of power check things as settings timeout of your computer, which determines how long the computer waits before turning off the display or enter the mode 'sleep'. These settings can help you save energy and extend the life of the battery in your computer.

    Open the power Troubleshooter: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/open-the-power-troubleshooter

    Method 2.

    You can create a new power plan and check if that helps.

    Change, create, or delete a power plan (scheme): http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/change-create-or-delete-a-power-plan-scheme

    Hello

    Unless you know exactly what you do, in any case you are to change your registry database.

    This can make your operating system unusable.

    Download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware in Mode safe mode with networking:

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

    And here's how to go in Safe Mode options; Select safe mode with networking from the list of options:

  • How eliminate the duty press F1 on startup or restart my Dell Inspiron 530 desktop PC?

    Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

    Ideas:

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

    Check the time system to see if it is correct.

    If it isn't, it's a sign that it may be a CMOS battery failure, which also having to press F1 is a symptom of, too.

    It's a battery power supply NET, size piece that keeps your system settings when your computer is off.

    They cost about $5 to replace.

    http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000239.htm

    How to replace the CMOS battery in the above link info.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    You can also try setting your Bios back to default values, if the time is correct.
    In the Bios, it will indicate which key support for defects: F5, etc..
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go into Setup/Bios.
    See you soon.
  • Recently my 2008 Dell Inspiron 530 desktop decided to download the drivers for a floppy drive, which he did not. Trying to remove the drivers it just comes back. =(
    Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!
    Ideas: I honestly have no idea where these persistent drivers came and am not techi enough to know where to go to fix this.
    • You have problems with programs
    • The error message only comes when I turn on the computer and I have to press f1 to continue because disk 0 loadout or something else does not, and it is becoming a real chore.
    • Recently, I stopped using windows update automatically cause I learned from a friend that I may be causing this problem and download the drivers, but I'm not sure it really the problem.
    • everything I tried like a hotfix removes the drivers, but they came right at the start.
    Hello
    Disconnect the card reader and start the computer to cross check if this is the origin of the problem. You can also connect to a different port and check the result.
    You can restore the computer to an earlier time when it worked very well for this problem. To do this, follow these steps.
    1. open the system restore by clicking the Start button, all programs, accessories, clicking System Tools, and then click System Restore.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    For more information about system restore, see this link:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-is-system-restore
    I hope this helps.
    Hello Mike,.
    The model of this system is designed to support a DDR2 667 MHz SDRAM, 800 MHz frequency.
    And if your system configuration has been successfully upgraded to a Processor Quad Core support then more memory of 8 GB, new video cards and a bigger power supply can be accommodated.
    Hoping that it helps.
    So im havin a bit of trouble with my laptop. I disappeared for a month and so did not use my laptop during this period. When I got home and started using it, I encountered some problems.     We are direct opposites. I only use my laptop when I travel away from
    Ugh! Registry cleaning programs are all snake oil. Cleaning of the
    registration is not necessary and is dangerous. Let alone register and
    do not use any registry cleaner. Despite what many people think, and
    What software record cleaning suppliers are trying to convince you,
    have unused registry entries is not really make you hurt.
    The risk of a serious problem caused by a registry cleaner by mistake
    delete an entry you need is much greater than any potential benefit
    It can have.
    Read
    http://www.howtogeek.com/171633/why-using-a-registry-cleaner-wont-speed-up-your-PC-or-fix-crashes/
    and also
    http://blogs.technet.com/markrussinovich/Archive/2005/10/02/registry-junk-a-Windows-fact-of-life.aspx
    Here cleaning product:
    http://www.howtogeek.com/113382/how-to-use-CCleaner-like-a-Pro-9-tips-tricks/
    Let me stress that neither me nor anyone else who warns the
    use of registry cleaners never said that they always cause
    problems. If they have always caused problems, they would disappear from
    the market almost immediately. Many people have used a registry
    cleaner and never had a problem with it.
    The problem with a registry cleaner is that it carries with it
    the risk of a significant problem. And since there is no
    benefits of using a registry cleaner, running that risk is a very bad
    good deal.
  • screen brightness blocked after sleep/wake extended in windows vista with HP Pavilion dv6000
    Sometimes after recovery mode PC standby or Hibernate, the brightness of the screen is locked up and I can't change it.
    Nothing happens when I adjust the brightness setting in power or with FN + f7/f8 options.
    Even when I remove the power cable and operate on battery rest brightness up
    The only way to fix this is to completely restart windows vista.
    This happens not all the computer returns from sleep/hibernate, but it happens frequently.
    I have all the latest drivers for:
    BIOS F.31
    I have all the latest important updates from windows update.
    Anyone know a fix for this?
    For example, is there a way to 'reset' of the screen without having to reboot vista?  Once the brightness has been blocked, and I tried to reinstall the driver for the graphics card. The screen resets during the installation process without getting out of vista, and brightness worked normally.
    Someone knows a way to reset the screen without having to restart or reinstall the graphics driver?
    HP Pavilion 6563, home premium Windows Vista 32.
    In fact, I found an easy way to solve the problem without having to restart vista...
    I just close the LID and open it back, now I can control the brightness again.
    I put the "close cover" - function of "doing nothing" in the powersettings...
