original title: remove a program.
When my computer has been updated to my programs. I had a program called Security Master AV. I went and deletedd, at least I thought I did, but it reappear. Help, please
Follow the instructions given below Web site
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-security-master-AV
Use malwarebytes to remove this program
http://www.Malwarebytes.org/MBAM.php
Security Master AV is a program that impersonates an anti-malware program, but is actually a computer infection that uses deceptive tactics to make you think you are infected. This program is considered to be a fake anti-spyware and belongs to the family of Virus Doctor. Security Master AV is generally installed through Trojans that pretend to be legitimate programs, but instead to install this rogue on your computer without your permission. The installer will also create many harmless files that are detected as malware when Security Master AV scans your computer. Once installed, the thief will be configured to start automatically when you log in to Windows. Once launched, it will scan your computer and state that the files that it created during installation are malicious files residing on your machine. In reality, these files are harmless and pose no harm to your computer. They are only intended for you to scare you into thinking you are infected in the hopes that you will then purchase the program.
Hope this helps

How to manage startup programs if Windows Defender open habit?
When I try to change startup programs, I get an error Windows Defender message: 0x800106ba when I click on the link to open Windows Defender. It used to open this way recently and I read that it might have something to do with other antivirus programs. I was not able to open Windows Defender for the month from the list of programs, but I've always been able to open it when I try to change startup programs, until, like yesterday. I tried running it as administrator and also to open it in the location of the file, but I get the same error message. So, how can I manage my startup programs? Windows Defender is not yet in the list "uninstall programs", but it's in the start menu.
What other programs Anti Virus, Anti Spyware, are you running?
It is not possible to uninstall Windows Defender, as confirmed by this article.

Does anyone know how I can remove this program that has no program folder, no registry keys, but still works? I can still print from this computer, but cannot access the HP Director (a function to scan, print, clean & align print head, etc.), which is what started this process of trying to uninstall/reinstall the program.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

This message can be considered "solved!" I was finally able to remove the program with the HP disk. I tried to reinstall (overwrite) the program, but I received a message that the installer has detected that the program is already installed. I wanted to try it manually, so I 'opened' the disc, you click on "setup" and received the same message. At this point, I was ready to try anything and noticed the "Launcher" icon and thought, what the heck, can't hurt to try at this stage, so I clicked it. I wasn't expecting the screen, I had, who said that it would be to uninstall the program. I thought it was too good to be true and easy way (after all), but after that it's over, I checked my Add/Remove programs and my 'problem' program was gone.
Thought I would post this so anyone who might encounter the same problem can try this.

You can use msconfig or the program below.
And search for particular software tools > Options re start.
http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx
This utility, which has a knowledge of auto-starting locations of any startup monitor, shows you what programs configured to run at system startup or login and that the entries in the order of processing windows. These programs include those in your startup folder, Run, RunOnce, and other registry keys. You can configure Autoruns to show other locations, including Explorer shell, toolbar extensions, helper objects to the browser, Winlogon notifications, auto and many start-up services even more. Autoruns goes way beyond the MSConfig utility bundled with Windows Me and XP.
See you soon.

How to uninstall a program that is not in the category 'Programs' from the Panel control?
The program I'm trying to uninstall is a game called 'Purble Place' and it was already installed in my computer. I want to uninstall it because it seems to me a bit too childish and not very interesting. I tried to find it in the control panel in the category 'Programs', but it was not and I could not find a solution in the internet, even not in the "help and Support Program". Does anyone know how to uninstall the game (and maybe installed programs that are not listed in "Uninstall programs")?
Hello, James R, P
It would be prudent to remove entries from the registry and the values for Purble Place. It doesn't hurt also to them to leave because they don't refer to any program since you already have you have already uninstalled the software.
I hope this helps answer your question.
Thank you

How to uninstall and reinstall norton security
I have Norton Security for 5 devices and put one on my new iMac, but when I click on advanced customize it does not open. Nothing happens. I was hoping that if I uninstalled norton and reinstalled then it would work. I tried to uninstall norton, but he said it did not with the OS systems. Nobody knows that I can either get advance to work so I can use the settings or how to uninstall and reinstall?
Thank you
It is not recommended to install antivirus on Mac applications unless you want a computer unstable and crashing. OS X is extremely secure and must be kept up-to-date to stay. AV, cleaning or ANY other third party are tools to keep the OS X works well are a total waste of time, energy and resources system.

I'm still under Win XP on a Dell using Avast Antivirus desktop (under license).
I opened a link while working at my g-mail account.Firefox cannot detect Trojans programs. Attention do not install a fake virusscanner, you will be infected by malware instead. Personally, I wouldn't trust this thing Security Defender, this looks like a scam to me. I guess Avast is preventing the download because it is a virus. In general, it is always very dangerous to install software that you receive in the mail. Also never install a fake 'Firefox-update"that is send by post.
