How to use memory and boost system performance by using 8 gb win7 Professional 64-bit

Hello

I m using HP430 (I have 3 Basic) laptop with win7 64 bit Professional installed.

recently, I ve upgraded to 8 GB of ram, but I don't really see the system performance problem.

Can anyone guide the optimal memory use and improve the performance of the system (file e.g.page, etc.)

Thanks in advance,

Prashant

Hello.

If, for example, your system was using 2 GB before you upgrade the memory, it will use more than 2 GB.  The only time where you would see that a performance gain would be if you had only 1 GB in the system and the system was attempting to use 2 GB.  If you had more that what you were using in the first place you will see no difference.  8 gb is a lot of memory for normal use.  At most I use about 3.5 GB and it is with some powerful applications running.

See you soon.

  • 5.1 surround Sound speaker system does not work in Windows 7 Professional 64-bit edition

My problem is about the same as other users who cannot get their surround sound speaker system to work properly in Windows 7.

I have a subwoofer and 5 speakers (2 front, 2 rear, 1 for the centre).  Connection to the RealTek HD Audio embedded is simple, orange for the subwoofer, green for the front and black for the rear.

Test the sound in Control Panel-> windows sound produces a sound on all channels and RealTek HD Audio Manager at the same time, which is the desired configuration.

However, different applications use different channels.  IE and Firefox use the front channels, VLC/MediaPlayer uses the back.  3D games (that is to say WoW) through all channels.  In each case the subwoofer does not work.

I tried to download the latest drivers on the motherboard (Gigabyte) manufacturers site.  I even tried the supplied RealTek drivers (even if on the Web from RealTek site which is NOT recommended).  I tried to connect the connectors of the subwoofer to the different takes (reversed black and green).

I have experimented with the settings in RealTek HD Audio Manager and control panel-> windows Sound.  Nothing works.

These exact same subwoofer and speakers worked perfectly well on Windows XP.

    I have 2 questions:

one) has anyone resolved their 5.1 & Windows 7 problem something that I have not yet tried?

    (b) when will Microsoft take this issue seriously?  All Microsoft provided answers just repeat what everyone

    has already tried.

First disconnect the cable 3 (orange, green and black) then click on Control Panel configuration-hardware and sound - Real tek HD audio manager - central tick, subwoofer and rear pair, front left and right and filling of speaker

Then click on advance device settings.

Select "perform front and reading of output devices back two different audio streams simultaneously" and give ok

Plug all three pins one by one and select the appropriate option in the popup windows.

    That's all.

You give enough information for me to get this working.   My system runs Win 7 X 64 Home Premium.   When I select 5.1 sound capacity side my 550 x Logitech speakers are not recognized.  If I select 7.1, which is the capacity of my chip Realtek chipset, I can get the two outside are activated as a "rear" speakers and can push the test tones to each of the four surrounding speakers and the combination of Center/bass via the Realtek driver.

Regarding the "front and reading of output devices back two different audio streams at the same time" worries... I can't find this option.  There are at least two suppliers of 'control of the interfaces' assets on my system.  One is provided by RealTek, the other by Microsoft.  The access roads to these interfaces is roundabout and confusing, to say the least.

Some compromises are in order in my humble OPINION.  I have my Pandora one stream play in an acceptable way in my small study.  Many of the source of sounds streamed to me are recorded in stereo or mono, I find myself hitting the 'matrix' on my Logitech X 550 button quite frequently.  Sometimes a more recent piece is delivered which actually looks Ok without the decoder "matrix".

What I would really like to be able to do is to "reconfigure on the fly" between the built in speakers on my Acer Z3731 system USB bar ' All in One ' and my external Logitech X 550 popular with the ability for the presentation of "5.1 surround sound" through three sons.  When I try your procedure, I don't get separate recognition of each thread, as it is trendy and often end up with its 2.1 being eliminated in my 5.1 speakers, because somehow Microsoft has re-recognized the built-in USB port based his bar instead of the three rear wires plugged into the outlets provided by the manufacturer of the system.

If there was ever separate 'Speakers' and 'Realtek' icons in the UI on my system, speakers are long gone and I can't get back them.  All I see is the Realtek driver.  I would like to see the two icons 'Speakers' different, I could mark "integrated 2.1" and "5.1 external '", in addition to the driver Realtek.»  How can I get these to reappear?

Can anyone suggest a way to have two different sets of "speakers" recognized and identified in the Microsoft UI in addition to the Realtek driver?  If I could get because of this, I think that the driver would let me 'set as default' one or the other speaker set, and I 'software switching' capable of letting me choose the external speakers or integrated sound bar offers the sound.

  • How to get a USB 2.0 wireless adapter to work on Win7 Ultimate 64-bit?

    Details:

    ASUS P8Z77 - V motherboard w/Intel Core i7 3.5 Ghz 3770 K LK
    16 GB OF RAM
    HWUN4 USB 2.0 wireless adapter b/g/n w/Realtek chipset Hawking RTL8192CU
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit fully updated to include SP1
It is the second USB card who refuses to work on this platform, the first being something Rosewill which also uses a Realtek chip.
I checked that the drivers for my MB are up-to-date, verified that I have later Hawking, tried drivers directly from Realtek drivers for the chip and assured that I installed the latest Intel MEI driver package for my motherboard. I went on the USB settings in the BIOS, but I'm not exactly fluent in what the options really are or do. I went through all of this also try to get the Rosewill unit to work several months past, as well, but without success with a device. It is postulated that the Hawking unit is actually Edimax, although I can't find any similar product on the site in order to try the drivers for. I also completely turned off my firewall ZoneAlarm and Avast! antivirus during installation and configuration, for the same results each time. The results does not same are achieved regardless of USB 2.0 ports 10 or if I connect to the adapter for.
With this Hawking and the previous Rosewill adapter, drivers seem to installs successfully, such properties as displayed in the Device Manager say "this device is working properly", but they do not find a wireless signal. Simply says Windows Network Diagnostics adapter is "problems" and suggests that drivers can be a problem and always indicates that the latest drivers are already installed every time I have send the update to the latest drivers on my hard drive.
I can come to only three possible conclusions:
    (1) Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - bit is unable to use USB 2.0 wireless network cards.
    (2) Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - bit is unable to use USB adapters based on the Realtek chips.
    (3) my motherboard lacks the correct BIOS settings to fully activate USB wireless.
I have several other USB 2.0 devices that all work fine on this platform, including cameras, USB keys, external drive docks, mice, keyboards, phones, and others. I googled the days and found nothing to convince me the problem with my motherboard, I can't find anything specific on Win7x64 being a problem with this. Comments on NewEgg and other sites indicate people successfully use wireless adapters USB with Win7x64 and even on the same motherboard, I use, so I have to assume that I have either overlooked something or not yet found appropriate hardware and/or software settings.
With this post being half-rant and half-cry for help, I will respectfully ask for suggestions on how to solve this maddening problem.

«I don't mention it in my first post, certainly, but these devices have very certainly works wonders on a laptop with Win7x64 and a desktop computer with WinXPx32 installed.»

So your previous conclusions are wrong, because they contradict what you are saying now.

I wanted to know if the adapter STILL works, not its past history. I have a D-Link WDA 2320 worked in another PC perhaps a year previously, but now it shows in the configuration, and that's as much as I can get with it. A few years ago I had a computer that did not like any wireless device, either PCI or USB and finished by hard wiring it which was very annoying.

    OK, back to your...

Go to Device Manager and uninstall the device.
Then set Device Manager to show hidden devices.
Remove any instances where the adapter has tried to implement on a USB port
Remove all instances of the downloaded driver files.
Restart the computer. There should be nothing about it that the adapter can use more

Then download a SINGLE instance of the pilots approved here. http://hawkingtech.com/products/hawking_products/Hi-gain_wireless_networking/HWUN4.html

According to the manual, you must run the file from the driver before connecting the device to the computer...
Connect the device and then run the driver file. Restarting after the installation of the drivers and when the computer is back running, connect the device...

  • IncrediMail is safe to use with Windows XP (Professional 64 - bit)?

Yahoo Messenger 11 is also installed. IncrediMail and Yahoo Messenger - Yahoo Messenger have for the most part - software Exception 0xc0000005 message when connecting to the Windows account. Prices IncrediMail 2 Yahoo Messenger 11 compatible (running on XP Pro 64 - bit)?

What the manufacturer of IncrediMail and Yahoo Messenger?  Them, support whence little matter your operating system of choice.  They are your direct line of support for their products.

In the meaning of my question...

According to the web page Windows 7 for IncrediMail Compatibility Center (IncrediMail 2 is the name, they are on v6.26 build 4922) - it is compatible with Windows 7 x 64.

According to the web page compatibility Windows 7 for Yahoo Messenger Center (v9 anyway - presumably they did not later incompatible with the newer version of consumer Windows OS, it would be necessary to run on)-it is compatible with Windows 7 x 64.

I would probably be completely uninstall them, restart, download the latest version of each - install one at a time with a reboot between the two.

  • Can we use this product key on the back of the laptop for the activation and the windows 7 Professional 32-bit to windows 7 Professional 64-bit upgrade?

I have a laptop HP originally shipped with windows 7 32-bit professional. Now I want to upgrade to windows 7 professional 64 bit. I don't have with me installation disk. So I thought that it is possible (and legal) to resume an installation of windows 7 professional 64 bit disc from a friend and use this product key on the back of my laptop computer to activate windows after the installation of 64-bit? I'm a bit confused.

NOTE: This sticker on the laptop has windows 7 pro oa, and a product key to 25 digits (xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx) written on it.

In addition, the product ID in the information system in the control panel is OEM.

Yes, you can use the product key located on the COA sticker with a full retail version or the version upgrade Windows 7 Professional disc.

You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.

Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.

Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the applications needed.

    http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/07/using-Windows-easy-transfer-in-Windows-7/

Boot from the DVD 64 bit Windows 7
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)
Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:
The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.
(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

  • 10 Windows, system and process compressed memory & slow down the performance of Lightroom

I use Lightroom 6.6 (non - CC version) and for months, I have noticed the degradation in performance on my machine Windows 10 the more Lightroom runs. LR restarts solves the problem for a while, but anywhere from minutes to an hour, Lightroom performance down to the level where it becomes unusable.

Finally, I think I found a reproducible indicator in the Task Manager which may lead to the reason for this - it seems to be linked to the process "System and compressed memory" which is new for Windows 10. Maybe it's a coincidence, it could be the correlation instead of causation - but that's what I want to know.

When I start Lightroom and edit some pictures, everything seems normal in the Task Manager:

    17-07-2016 00-59-41.png

Lightroom uses about 6 GB of memory, which is OK, as I 24GO of RAM in my machine. The mentioned system and compressed memory process currently maintains that a low profile with the use of memory 204 MB and Lightroom performs well at this point.

Some pictures later, however, things start to get worse:

    17-07-2016 01-09-15.png

The system and compressed memory process increases its memory footprint and Lightroom memory footprint decreases. At this point, I think Lightroom is already slower - but this could be just imagination. It isn't so bad so I can be sure that it really is.

But a few minutes and retouching of photos later, system and compressed memory past Lightroom in the memory usage and which are how things always become really bad:

    17-07-2016 01-37-54.png

System and compressed memory draws a memory more and more away from Lightroom, and meanwhile, Lightrooms performance is killed. As I understand the system and memory tablet, it's intent is to compress the memory instead of disk paging-, but it seems he has high performance here and there of the implications would not even be necessary to page or compress memory because there were a lot:

    17-07-2016 01-38-08.png

Perhaps a Windows problem, may be a Lightroom problem - chances are, it's a combination of the two. With 24 GB RAM and Lightroom be gourmet applications in memory just running, this should not occur or cause problems. I use other applications in memory such as Visual Studio, or sometimes first - this does not occur when you use this application.

I can't believe I'm the only one knows than that on Windows 10 - yet I have not found much about it online, just a few remarks on this subject in some support threads here and there, but no solution.

So-, here is my question d ' others have experienced this too? Someone was able to get this under control? It's really frustrating relaunch Lightroom every 30 to 60 minutes to get a good performance.

    Thanks for the tips

    b.

There is a leak memory known in Lightroom 6.6. You might want to try to go back to Lightroom 6.5.1 and see if the problem goes away. See How do I restore a previous version of Lightroom? The Lightroom Queen and where it says Lightroom 6.1.1 you insert Lightroom 6.5.1

  • How to monitor the CPU, memory and i/o on the system

    Hello..

    Some body help me?...

    1. how to manage the monitoring of the performance of the system and the database during execution of ODI?
    2. how to monitor the CPU, memory and i/o on the system?

    TQ
    balleur

In an attempt to partially answer your questions:

    1. how to manage the monitoring of the performance of the system and the database during execution of ODI?

Monitor the performance of the application from a commercial point of view. As transactions per minute, or response time or time elapsed for the key events of the company. Monitor the activity of the material such that the CPU usage is not necessarily linked to the performance of your application. Performance should be measured from top to bottom - business first, then the lower levels until you get finally to computer equipment. Only if you get a problem to the next level - response time is too large, for example - you can go through the lower levels to identify the cause and fix it.

    2. how to monitor the CPU, memory and i/o on the system?

I personally use "sar" on UNIX-BASED or Linux, or rather "CFDCs" which is the system activity data collector. SADC will measure and collect data on activities on CPU, memory, disks, etc. and save them to a file in binary format. You can then extract these measures later for analysis using SAR (sar f sadc_file_name). The benefits of SADC are that it is light (these operating systems measure such things anyway, just CFDC records far), it records everything at once (with the exception of the network), it records the time stamp too for each measure, and you can analyze it later when you want to.

There are commercial products out there too who do similar work, with additional features, such as the integration of Oracle and the relationship between several systems. TeamQuest is an example, but there are others also. (I do not work for TeamQuest, but I used their product in the past).
