How to use my restore disks to install Windows Vista on my Toshiba laptop?

How to get Windows Vista installed on the Toshiba laptop?

I HAVE A TOTALLY VIRGIN (NOTHING on the HDD) computer PORTABLE TOSHIBA, I HAVE MY RESTORE DISKS for VISTA BUT CANT SEEM to GET THE OS installed on MY LAPTOP... Please help

As a general rule, the installation - insert the installation disc, restart the computer and boot from the installation disc.

BIOS - how to enter the BIOS and change Boot Order To Boot from CD/DVD

The computer might need to be set to boot from the DVD drive.

Each computer is different, when you turn on the computer, it should tell you what button to push to get into the BIOS. It is usually one of the following options and you have to push it in the first 5 seconds:

F1 F2 F10 F12 ESC LED

Once in the BIOS find the menu with the boot sequence and change it if it starts from the CD/DVD drive first. Each computer is a little different for this process as well, so I can't give exact directions.

If you can start still not install it:

Looks like you got the installation discs for the manufacturer of OEM computer, if so those are modified OEM Windows 7 install disks (they aren't the installation discs for Microsoft) and the best answer may come by contacting the manufacturer of OEM computers, because the changes they did make the different installation process then a normal installation disc.

Contact information for the manufacturer of your computer can be found here:

  • How to use the Dell CD to install windows 10

    Hello

We bought several optiplex 3040 provided with windows 7 preloaded, all machines include a purple cd with windows 10. I followed the instructions for restart in UEFI, access the menu CD mode and choose to restore the PC, the machine starts to work after it indicates that the restore is complete it restarts and displays the menu even all over again. What should I do to install windows using this CD of 10? what I am doing wrong?

Thanks a lot for your help

    Kind regards!

Never use DVD provided to install Windows 10. It is an obsolete old construction of Windows 10 meaning that basically, you need to install Windows 10 twice (clean install old build then update install the new version). In addition, the optical drive fails to pass SecureBoot.

Download an .iso of 10 RS1 Microsoft's Windows Live and do an install USB Bootable using the GPT Partition for UEFI BIOS, make sure that its FAT32 formatted and make sure your UEFI BIOS settings have Legacy Roma disabled, Legacy Boot disabled and a start on UEFI with SecureBoot.

    Hey SteveZea

you don't say if you used your laptop to join here or not

go to your site to manufacturers of portable computer with the computer that you use for here and find a download section

find the drivers for your laptop model number, download and save if you use another computer to get here

copy to flash drive, if you use another computer to do this and reinstall on your laptop

If the problem persists then contact the manufacturer of your laptop as their recovery process is not microsofts you have problems with

  • Can we install Windows Vista instead of Windows 8?

We bought a new laptop of Dell XPS with Windows 8 two months ago.  We hate it!  Are we able to install Windows Vista on this new laptop using the disc that we had from our old computer?

    Hello

If Vista is preinstalled on the old computer (Dell, HP, Acer, etc.), it is an OEM license and as such is not transferable.

If this Vista license was a license to retail, bought and installed by yourself, yes you are allowed to transfer, as long as it is only installed on a machine.

    In other words:

    OEM license: NO transfer.

    Retail price: Yes, you can.

And first of all whether Dell has Vista drivers available for Windows 8 machine.

If no driver available, you're wasting your time.

    See you soon.

    Thank you

    Hello

    You are welcome

If the CD/DVD drive in the works of PC Gateway, you can (at least temporarily) remove it and install it in the HP, you can run your recovery disc and reinstall Vista.  Once everything is running on the HP, you can always remove the CD/DVD drive and reinstall it in the gateway PC if you wish.

  • Used the same disk to install two copies of the Creative costume Design Standard 6 on 2 separate Macs?

I bought the student edition Adobe Creative suit 5.5 standard design and I was told that there was a copy to 2 Macs. I've only used on one. I then send the 6 suit standard design Creative updated (not student worm). Does this mean that I can still use it on 2 Macs? There was only one disc for 5.5 and 6, just do you use the same disk to install on Mac?

Yes, you use the same drive and serial number... The Adobe license allows 2 activations

When you install the CS6 upgrade you will need to enter your previous serial number

    Hello

the HP recovery discs do not normally require an input key product on your part

It's a good idea to always write it down in a safe place and away from the computer

Unfortunately, these stickers wear away very easily
