How will I know if I have a bad RAM or bad treatment or a bad hard drive?

Hi guys I recently opened my laptop for cleaning fan and so I disassembled it and I just noticed that the thermal paste is pretty bad, so I replace and apply a new thermal compound can clean the vents, then I put the laptop back together, then what happens is that when I copy the files it takes me a lot of time I reinstalled windows , then what is happening is that it's always the same thing how do you know and what are the factors which makes it slow during the copying thanks for help
