How will I know if my Windows XP has a virus?

He tries to stop after the first two loading screens and I'm trying to see if a virus is the reason why.

If you think that your computer has a virus, it is important to know if you have a real or whether it is another problem. There are telltale signs that may indicate whether or not you have a virus. Look and listen to find out if you regularly the following types of questions; Then, you can resolve your virus if you have an and recover your computer to good health. If you don't have such problems, consider other troubleshooting

Looking for obvious changes. Look to see if there are changes to your desktop, your Favorites or in how your computer behaves in general. If your desktop icons have moved or if something has been added to your desktop, it's a sign that you have a virus. Look in the "Add/Remove Programs" section of the control panel and see if there are any programs that you forgot to install. Often a virus will install other programs that cause problems. If you have a new toolbar in your web browser, it is another sign that you may have a virus.

Disconnect from the Internet. If your computer behaves differently when you are connected to the Internet, it is another sign that you have a virus. One of the main objectives of many viruses is to steal the resources of your computer. When you're not online, a person at the other end is not able to get to your resources.

Check your speed. One of the ways to know if you have a virus if your computer is running more slowly. Sometimes, the computer will run just a little slow, but after having a virus for some time the computer will become extremely slow in all this. Disconnected from the Internet can speed up your computer, but with the malicious virus, that it may not matter if you are connected to the Internet - virus will use your resources just to cause you problems.

Beware of errors. If you get strange errors or just more errors that do things like close your programs or you to restart your computer, there is a good chance that you have a virus. Sometimes the errors are normal, but they shouldn't happen constantly. Keep a log of when you get errors, what you were doing when it happened and how the error was.

Listen for the noise. If your computer is a lot of cracking noises accessing the drive hard if you do nothing, then it is probably controlled by a virus or a person who set up the virus. Most of the time when you are not using your computer it shouldn't do anything.

Inspect your security software. Check if your anti-virus, firewall software or updates of Windows have been changed or disabled. If you have security, but it is not up to date or not good enough, a virus to disable the software to give and other viruses more access

Run the malicious software removal tool

Download and install MSE to scan to install security software if you do not

It depends on which Bluetooth stack you use.  If you use Windows to configure your Bluetooth device, see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/883259

  • How will I know if my new laptop has Windows 8 Pro

I bought two Dell systems.  One was the M6700 I knew had top Windows 8 Pro and I installed Media Center with the Microsoft product key sent to me.  I went back to the system due to SIGNIFICANT and costly Pro Tech support.  After 26 days, they refused to fix the screen would dim every 3 minutes, saying: "if he wasn't a yellow bang in Device Manager it was not their problem.  The last day, I accidentally found a Dell program that controlled the graphic setting called color Dell Premier.  I decided to go back to the workstation even though it was a great system.  I didn't look forward to 3 years technical support useless and frustrating to a value of $350.

A month later, I bought an Alienware technical support personnel system is so much better.  I worked with them for years and never had the problems I had with the support of Corp.

Since it has been a month and I had just finished a factory on the M6700 system restore, I felt that I would have been able to use the product key for the Media Center.  However after working with a Microsoft Tech today for an hour. He seemed to feel that the Media Center button would not work on this system for two possible reasons. 1. what it cannot be Pro Windows 8 or 2. The key somehow was not removed from the M6700 after the factory restore.

So before having any contact with Pro support, I would like to know how I can tell if this system or does not have Windows 8 Pro.  I don't remember if the Windows 8 Pro showed in the system information report.  Or if she could be considered under control panel - system.  I tried to run the update on the upgrade assessment and who has failed for some reason, saying: it was not available in my country.  What is the United States.  It seems that the system is configured for which English is the language.  Given that I didn't get through a full installation of Windows as if I installed the program as you would if it was Windows 7 system comes through a Microsoft Agreement which I checked and then configure the network online and I logged on.  I was not even given the opportunity to choose the name of system I need to change.

I'm a little lost at this stage to say the least.  If Microsoft technology could not tell if it is Windows 8 Pro, do not want to assume that the OEM support would be.

I have the disc that came with the M6700 and I it matched with the disc that came with this system.  Both drives have the same part number and both claim it's for Windows 8 Recovery Media for Windows 8 products.

So it is a Question of two parts:

    1. How will I know if I have installed Windows 8 Pro &

    2. How can I get my product key Media Center back?

    Thank you for your support.

  • How will I know if my Airport Extreme has the latest firmware?  And (not related) how to change the password used to connect to my network?

I think I bought the latest version of Airport Extreme.  It is the unit which is rectangular, is about 6 to 7 w., etc.  I have some basic questions that I do not understand:

    1. How will I know if I have the latest firmware for this device?  I read a few posts that make it sound as if it was just automatically updates.  Is this true?

    2. can someone tell me how to change the password used to connect to my wireless network?

    Thank you very much!

    Chris

If a firmware update is available, AirPort Extreme flashes orange.

The most up-to-date version of the firmware is 7.7.3.

You can see what version you currently have the following on your Mac...

Open Finder > Applications > utilities > AirPort Utility

Click on the image of the AirPort Extreme

    Look for the Version

If the new firmware was available, you will see a button update here

To change the wireless network password...

Click on edit in the window smaller than you watched just to check the firmware version

Click on the Wireless tab at the top of the next window

Go back / change the wireless password and enter a new password

Do the same thing to check

Click Update at the bottom right of the window and give the airport a minute full for restart

  • How will I know that 10 Windows installed on my PC?

I'm worried, I continue to scan through my updates and I now see word on Windows 10, my desktop PC is not always connected to the internet, so that must be the issue. I had my reservation for over a month and I still don't see ANYTHING about it like everyone else. I'm leaving my PC hooked up tonight and check the morning but someone fast please tell me what I need to do. I booked on more than 4-5 different computers (of family) and my main thing is that I'm more worried.

The files will be downloaded in the background and you will be notified when they are ready to be installed.

With a pool of more than 1 billion devices to upgrade to win 10, only a small part of those who will get win 10 July 29.  First of all, insiders (those who have tested window 10) will from July 29, there are 5 million of insiders.
After that, in the next weeks and months , Microsoft will upgrade those who have 'reserved' win 10 in the waves. Those who have "reserved" their copies of Windows 10 will announce "once our compatibility work confirms you will have a great experience, and Windows 10 has been downloaded on your system"
If Microsoft determines that a user system is "not yet ready for your upgrade", the company will provide more details, such as contact information to allow users to get more details from application developers and device manufacturers.
Every day the implementation, listen us, learn and to update the experience for all users of Windows 10.

If you did not get the update or notification, be patient, the wire of time that you will be some have already begun their downloads in advance

  • How will I know if my flash drive has backed up all my data?

Just bought a flash drive.  I figured out how to run a backup on the flash drive.  But how do I know if the flash player now has my files?  And which files actually need.  How to restore files should I have to?

  • How will I know that the Windows Xp pro product key is already registered or not before you buy

  • How will I know that my Windows product key is if one on the sticker that is located on the computer does not seem to work?

You want more details. For two hours I answered all the questions that ask you that. And still no support. You up to the date of this laptop, every day at 03:00, so don't tell me the product key, which is on the back of this box is incorrect. Or that it is not the country I say. Just send me what is on the back of this box, which I paid too much for in the first place.

We are not Microsoft. We are volunteers who give of our spare time to help people. Complain about Microsoft is a waste of time. We are in the same boat as you when it comes to most of the problems and not more control or access that you have to do.

A product key is not in the box where everyone can see.  It is a sequence of alphanumeric 25 digit of 5 sets of 5 digits separated by dashes for the operating system.  If this is the original installation, the key will be on a label on the underside of the laptop.  It has been upgraded or purchased as a product of the retail (suggested by saying you that you have a box), then the product key for the product to the retail sales would have been on a piece of paper inside the box.  The product key on the label of the laptop would have been crushed (which would have been in the computer would have been product key from the manufacturer that could not be used to enable or provide proof) by installing the retail or upgrade.  Microsoft has no idea what is your product key regardless of the case - even if you bought them (unless it was by a download and then you should have an email from their share with the product key to this topic).

If this is not a problem of activation or re-installing and that you have installed and activated the product yourself, try of Belarc Advisor http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html and see if the product key, it reveals work best of all what you use now.

For more information, if it does not help, post to http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_install?page=1&tab=all&tm=1300700638376.

    Good luck!

  • How will I know if my Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 or x 86?

I have a 64-bit computer, but there are files on the C drive for Program Files and Program Files (x 86). I have questions on this topic, but do not actually need to know, so far. I'm trying to restore my backup files in when I upgraded Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium. I discovered an additional file/application had to be downloaded to achieve this, but unfortunately I do not know that you choose. x 64 or x 86.

    I have a few questions:

I chose Custom installation because I wanted to wipe my hard drive and reinstall just some things. I just discovered that a file was created on my computer as "old computer." If she was going to do this, why did I have to lose a day and 17 discs, backup files?

When I am able to restore the backup, I can choose what get-restored or am I stuck with everything? I think I deleted everything I didn't until I did the back-up, but just in case I would like to be able to choose what is restored to my computer.

I have a ton of papers of college in the end so I have to get my MS Office Suite restored to this computer, so if someone could help me quickly, I would really appreciate it.

    Thank you!!

  • How will I know if I have deleted all the virus from Windows XP Recovery?

I ran Malwarebytes & Scanner security Microsoft, both said that they have deleted the infected files. My browser is redirected is when I try to follow a link, as it had been before. But when I look at the Task Manager, I see "iexplore.exe" sometimes 4 times or more, using thousands of k of memory, although I only see or looking at a web page.  I won't try to restore my files etc if I'm still infected.  Should I run scans more?  I'll try such superantispyware.com suggested in another answer.  I use System Mechanic with Iolo anti-virus that updates automatically, but of course, this does not prevent this infection.  A few weeks ago I bought 'Spyware Doctor', but he made me uninstall my Iolo which I had always liked, and it did not help, did not remove much - I ran it before the two I mentioned above.  I have uninstalled & reinstalled my Iolo.  Microsoft Safety Scanner & Malwarebytes does not appear to conflict with Iolo.

Do you think I should do more?

You write zeros to every part of the training, set back to "as delivered" and then format and install fresh about this.  It's * really * the only way to be 100% sure that you are completely rid of something like this in due time.

  • How will I know if my X 220 has IPS?

    Hello world

I just got a new X 220, and I try to understand what to look for enjoying the IPS. (I in fact ordered it for the machine).

It seems bright and quite easily visible at an angle, but I expected a bit more.

    Anyone?

Also, I installed a new copy of Windows 7 Pro. Anyone know if there is a kind of the Lenovo driver package combo I can install, instead of taking the time to individually download and install separately, each driver?

If you go to control PANEL, SYSTEM and then DEVICE, under MONITORS MANAGER, IPS monitor is listed as "viewing angle wide & high density FlexView screen 1366 x 768.

    Thanks in adance.

I guess you need to do a couple of models that do not have the menu button (87xx, 6xxx, 7xxx) from the list. All the new models have the menu key, although this may change in the future...
