  I recently changed the motherboard in my computer because of the failure.  I reinstalled Win 7 and tried to start.  He failed online and phone support system could not unlock.  I use a key to upgrade of family 3 Pack that has never been installed on 3 computers.  I was under the impression that the rules of this East fell under the 'detail' and not OEM so that I can install it even if I changed the motherboard.

• Failed to activate after reinstalling

  I've recently updated my processor and motherboard on my home PC, requiring a reinstall of Windows.  I am running Windows 7 Home Premium, and I bought a pack of 3 family and installed on 3 computers (one of them is the computer that I just upgraded).  When I am going through the online activation process, it tells me that my product key cannot be used on this computer.  I tried the telephone automated system, which accepted my key, but asked me how many computers I had already activated on, and when I said "three", he told me my license Windows had exceeded the number of licenses (or something to that effect).  There is no option to tell him that I have reinstall it on one of the three.  When I called customer service, they told me to try the phone activation once, I did and it failed with the same results (I told them he would, but they said it should work).  Does anyone have other ideas? I had to 'disable' Windows before the upgrade to free a license?
