The older members of my family have a time very difficult adaptation to Windows 8 - can the laptop of HP 15 - d030nr work properly on Windows 7?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Lynn-Marie ,.

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems, with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your computer laptop 15-d030nr HP and who need to know the decommissioning. As this system came with the version of Windows 8 could be difficult. Some drivers are not available for Windows 7 systems and you lack some of the special features. Here is a link so that you can understand your downgrade rights.

Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant, if you need it. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need to update with Windows 7. Here is a link to page you produced pilot.

Here is a document from Microsoft that could help with older programs working with Windows 8.1.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.

Well, this would mean that you have to order the official HP recovery media to restore factory.

    Hello

Assuming that the hard drive has a style of mbr, system partition contains startup files and the Windows recovery environment and it is quite normal to show him the fragmentation - that partition should not be défragmentée, because it can cause problems with the loading of Windows.

  • p189sa: HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-p189sa Downgrade from Windows 7

    Hello

I bought this laptop HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-p189sa with little window 8.1 64.

I didn't know the poor performance and 8.1 window issues.

Although I tried this OS, I want to downgrade to a reliable operating system and best quality.

    Why change?

-L' network wifi icon is not working properly, when I change the network disables it in itsalf and it is impossible to solve it it then I have to restart the laptop.

    -L'interface is orrible

-Sometimes the phone takes hours before turning off or I never turn off

It is longer so the reasons why I want to change this OS not usable and hostile.

The downgrade problem is drivers that are not available on the hp Web site.

Can I use the drivers wind8 for wind7?

Maybe a program can adapt to drivers for wind7?

I am not able to develop pilots by myself so what do you suggest?

    Hi Paul,.

I installed the Realtak you gave me and Bluetooth works properly now.

Just to let you know that the Synaptics on the repo of hp drivers cause a crash on wind7. I used the drivers on their site here .

The laptop looks good for today, I'll do some tests of regression during these days.

Thank you Paul for you support.

    Thank you

    Hello:

You can find out if 3D driveguard is installed by going to Device Manager, click to expand the category of peripheral system and then look for the HP Mobile Data Protection sensor.

If you see the device listed, then you should be fine.

If you want to update the driver, here is the latest...

This package provides the software HP 3D DriveGuard to the notebook models that are running a supported operating system. HP 3D DriveGuard software protects the drive hard by parking the heads if cell phone accidentally falls, or is suddenly struck by another object.

  • Information system may not collect information. Unable to access Windows Management Instrumentation software. Management of Windows files can be moved or missing.

    Information system.
Popular management files moved or missing.

Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.

If the system restore does not work, do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

If this does not work, try to start in safe mode (repeatedly hit F8 key so that the start and go in safe mode with networking).  Then we will check some of your system files:

Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

Type sfc/scannow, go and let it run.  It will scan and try to correct some of your system files.  If all goes well he comes complete with no corruption, it could not repair (if it has these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228.

While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run.  It will scan and try to solve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a cause.

If it does not, then thanks for posting any repetitive error message in Event Viewer on startup (Start / Control Panel / administrative tools / Event Viewer).  Here's how to use Event Viewer: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic40108.html.

If this does not work, you will need to do a repair/system upgrade using the Windows Vista Installation disc authentic (you own or that you can borrow from someone).  Here is the procedure: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-vista.html as well as the upgrade from an earlier version of the Windows section of the following: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918884.  Although this will not affect your data, settings or programs, you should always back up your data before you start just be on the safe side. If other procedures do not work, it is almost certain to work.  You can have a lot of updates to re - install (including all you need to remove service packs).  If the version on system with SP1 or SP2 preinstalled cane and the disc is an earlier version, then you will need to do a slipstream drive as follows: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/151606-vista-sp1-slipstream-installation-dvd.html.

I hope one of these procedures can solve your problem.  If this isn't the case, after return and we will try something else.  Return message anyway so we know how it turns out.

    Good luck!

  • Why many DELL notebooks still come with Windows 7?

    Hello

I think to buy a DELL, probably the series Inspiron laptop.

I see a lot of DELL notebooks still come with Windows 7 and it's even a filter criterion when you browse laptops at DELL.com

There is 'Windows 7' and 'Windows 8 ' filters.

DELL is not confident in Windows 8 or what is the reason?

Also, if I buy a laptop today, would you advise me to choose Windows 7 Windows 8 and reasoning why?

    Thank you.

Windows 8 has no XP mode and does not have a start menu and is not compatible with many other things. So no I don't see things at my disposal at any time.

  • Cannot use Bluetooth notebook Mouse 5000 - mouse in Windows 7.

I do not understand, cannot use the notebook mouse 5000 in Windows7. When the Logitech mouse can. I can be found by bluetooth, but it has not installed all the drivers. And it cannot be used at last. I have no why material made by Microsoft may not be recognized by the new Microsoft System. I think it's funny. However, in the website of this mouse. It was said to be supported by Windows 7.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and you are using the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000.  I tried the way Service.MSC recommended to select automatic and then local system and then OK and and so on.  It does not work.  I thought the mouse was defective, but then I tried to pair it with three other phones and it is paired with each other.  Why not on Windows 7 system?  I found the problem.  In all humility, wait a few days before making the following fix to give time for a technical genius to say that it is a good solution or if I just open my system to a host of other issues.  What I can say to you is the failure to connect the mouse has been frustrating but the fix I suggest worked instantly.

Go to the icon START and type services. MSC and some SERVICES.  The dialog box that opens has a long list of things but find BLUETOOTH SUPPORT SERVICE and double-click or open it.  Select AUTOMATIC.  See the LOG on tab.  Choose the LOCAL SYSTEM and this is the road to nowhere.  This was the recommended fix, but it has never worked for me.  Select THIS ACCOUNT instead.  Type of LOCAL SERVICE.  NOW; If you click OK, it will say select password invalid or such.  No problem.   This; type Local Service in the dialog box, and then delete (a 15-dot-string) password points under the password and remove the string under confirm (the two password boxes are now empty).  Choose OK.  SUCCESS.  It should then tell you to STOP the service, then re - start the service before the change to take effect.  It should work now.

The first thing to understand I guess, is that there is a difference between the LOCAL SYSTEM and the LOCAL SERVICE.  Configuration help dialog box says the password in the choice of LOCAL SERVICE is a null password - that was my idea.  When I chose the LOCAL SERVICE (typing in the line of dialog box) I would always get the password box and this is what brought me to take a break.  Since it is a NULL password according to the Help menu - then you should be able to remove it?  Yes, I did.  He accepted my change and after stopping and restarting the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 service (don't use any transmitter/receiver) has worked perfectly and CONNECTED!

I compared all my other systems that accept pairing by checking SERVICES. MSC and each computer using LOCAL SERVICE AND NOT of LOCAL SYSTEM!

There you are!  As I said to the expectations of the beginning to see if a technical person writes and says "do not follow this recommendation.  I have no computer knowledge and my dose could have opened other problems outside power connect the mouse, the object of the exercise.  I'll look for it, too, in case I just create an unintended complication of other stuff like viruses, malicious this-and-that, and so on.

I post because the solution worked and I wanted to share the solution of all the many hours of total frustration in finding a solution to the question of the mouse.

    Hi SwaggaSamurai,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read your thread on your HP Pavilion Notebook 17z-e100 and wanting to downgrade to Windows 7. The hardest part might be some of the drivers. You have a copy of Windows 7 Professional? All the drivers can be found by doing a Google search. If you need help with drivers, I'd be happy to help you. Here is a document on Windows downgrade rights. I recommend to read this document and save all documents before you start, just so that you don't miss something important.

I bought a laptop HP dv6 want used with Windows 8.  The person I bought was not to remove his password or fingerprint scan, I have been unable to reach (I bought out of State).  I did some research and found the best thing to do was restore complete system - which i followed the instructions and made.  I don't have the original driver disc.

I am now in a loop of contant, where he arrives with the first password which successfully, I have changed but want to remove.  When it starts to load the administrator that is in a constant loop of Windows didn't load correctly. Restart the computer.  And I fo around and around, I tried everything I found here and many other bulls and still I am unable to make it work.

I have a Windows 7 disc, but I'm afraid to even try because I was told that resetting to the factory settings would work and it doesn't I don't want to do more damage.

  • HP ENVY 15-j050tx Notebook PC: can I partition Windows (c :)) by car?

My laptop details are given below:

    Operating system: Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Product name: HP ENVY 15-j050tx Notebook PC

    Model No.: F2C67PA

I have only two disks, C, and D.

Drive C is used for Windows and install other software. It has around 672 GB storage.

Impossible D drive used or consulted as it is a RECOVERY disk.

Some people recommend HP to store my data and personal files in the same drive where Windows is installed in the C drive, I fear in the case of corrupted Windows, my files of personal data would also be gone. I am thinking so to partition my C drive because it has around 672 GB and only 80% is not used.

    1. is it safe to partition C drive in which runs the Windows operating system?

    2. given that HP does not recommend partition, it creates problems for Windows to run with ease and efficiency?

    3. how to split the partition C drive?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    1. it's OK to divide c to create a partition for the data,

    2. I have not heard/read HP rexommendation. In my opinion, using tools HP to do a factory restore would eliminate all the plysical by car so no point to divide. And probably because that not sure people so how do not recommend you to do.

    3. Please follow the instructions below:
