HP 15 laptop computer omen: keyboard backlight

Hello, I recently bought my HP 15 Omen and when I got it all worked out well. After that 10 updated windows, my keyboard backlight is stuck on red and I can't change the colors. In addition, my touch screen does work with Google Chrome.

Help, please. Thank you

Oh and every time I close and open my laptop the metal part that connects the screen with the keyboard makes a rattling noise. Looks like it is loose or broken. Again, please help me I really like this computer

Yikes, I can't tell what it is photos, but I agree, it doesn't look good.

I would send it to get fixed as should be done no noise.
(Or if you bought in an actaul store, take it back and ask for an Exchange).

  • HP 15 laptop computer omen: Question of graphics - freeze/lock

I have problems with my graphics I think. I don't know if this is a hardware or a software issue, however.

Symptom: When I start a game the computer crashes and there's a hum. The sound almost sounds like it comes from the material rather than the sound. Although this doesn't happen every time. CTRL-ALT-DEL does not work when this happens. By pushing the button window does not work. The only way to get out the gel is hard boot the PC. This happened there as well after a game about 3 weeks session. I restored the computer to factory default and it worked fine until the 10/30/15. I would say the 1st time it happened was on 01/10/15. So a month elapsed before this happens again. Both times it happened after a long gaming session. I closed my laptop, went to another House and then when I tried to play again that this freezing/hum which is spent. This time I was unable to solve the problem.

I play the games or you have tried: Hearthstone, WOW, heroes of the storm, Starcraft II and Diablo III, Skyrim. All seem to have this problem now.

    Things I've done.

Restored PC to factory default. (Windows updates, installed updates HP installed, updated graphics card)

    Uninstalled and reinstalled graphics card

Restore PC to factory default (Windows updates installed, graphics card updates) - I remember when I first bought the PC. I installed HP updates through HP support Manager. It messed up the graphics. I have restored and it has worked well up until the 10/01/15. So I thought that maybe I messed up it by doing this. What is interesting is now after I restored my PC for the third time. HP can't find no updates. Maybe they stayed settled now?

Graphics card runs at 70 C (used Unigine & Unigine Valley) Ran this several times with no problem. This blows my mind. Why would this work but not games.

Peformance HP advisor no longer works. I uninstalled it and re-installed. Seems to be the slightest error out when he's looking for the graphics card.

To be honest. It seems to deteriorate, and even worse plus I have restore and try the different troubleshooting steps. Nothing is really make sense logically here. I have difficulty computers for a living but seriously this thing gives me a hell of a time.

I'm kind similarly not sure what more can be done.

It seems that the Nvidia GTX860M is having issues. When I right click and go to the Nvidia Control Panel. There is not much information at this location, as it used to be. The only option I have is 3D settings. It even after the Nations United-stable and re - install.

Any thoughts on where I should go with this? This PC is still under warranty and I year 3 help plan. Thanks in advance. I'm happy to give you any additional information. This thing is just blow my mind! Thank you!

After tons and tons of troubleshooting I finally thought to it. I was on the phone with HP when I thought about it. They kept transfer me back and forth between the Department of hardware and software. They have not really help a lot.

Just in case anyone else has this same problem.

    Laptop HP Omen 15 - Windows 8.1

Symptom: Chart question - freezing/locking up when you play ANY game and when you launch HP performance Advisor.

Solution: Uninstall Nvidia Graphics Card and Nvidia Ge Force experience. Also everything that said Nvidia in your Add/Remove Programs Control Panel.

Go to HP and download the Nvidia graphic card on there website to your PC. Do NOT install the driver of Nvidia graphics from the site Web of Nvidia card.

NVIDIA is currently on 352 or something like that. I downloaded 348 or anything that was on the HP website. Everything works find now. NVIDIA has missed something there put the driver.

Of NVIDIA Geforce experience will NOT work. What is the best so good solution? Playing games or using the Geforce experience.

Hope this helps anyone who runs into this problem.

  • HP 17-w033dx omen: keyboard keys stuck (when you play)

About four days ago, I bought the laptop HP Omen. The next day, I bought it, I started to play games. Occasionally (about every 15 minutes), my WASD keys would be stuck and repeat themselves in the games (my character would keep walking).

I have to press the button, regardless of the amount of pressure, to stop spam 'key '.

I turned off sticky and filter keys, as well as ensure that the keyboard drivers are up-to-date, and that the device is not in power saving mode (in any case, I always play with my charger plugged).

I'm kind of mouth gaping, whereas I bought less than a week ago, and the keys of the keyboard have nothing under their (I was very careful about not letting anything slide down there) and that the keys are starting to lock during the games.

Another speculation, it also seems to happen at half way through games, usually when my CPU and GPU are at their peaks, when my computer's temperature is higher (75-85 C for the CPU and GPU).

If someone could help me understand this, thanks!

I read your post about the problems with your new HP PC and wanted to help.

You should not have problems with a PC this new.

Looks like the laptop is overheating and that is the cause of lag, and also the keyboard to act up.  I do not know if this model is considered as a "gaming machine", but you should be able to get a read on that of HP.

While this PC is still under warranty, contact HP customer care directly so that they can put you in contact with HP Technical Support to see what they can do on the diagnosis and repair of your machine remotely.

I did recently, and HP technology was able to remotely access my PC on the Internet and to make the necessary repairs.

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: once you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to someone ' one - it can take a while!

    Good luck

    You should check this thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?MessageID=233069

You will find great shots of keyboard backlight and some information
You should check if the motherboard supports an additional connector called JBLG and is located on the right side of the connector of the main keyboard.
If it is available, then you can update the device with a supported keyboard backlight.

  • Satellite U500-1FN: would like to have a keyboard backlight

    Hello

I have this model u500-1fn without keyboard backlight...
If I buy a keyboard backlight for u500 will work?

Hmm, the laptop must support the backlight for the keyboard if you want to use this keyboard.
Under the keyboard there should be a slot in order to attach the cable from the keyboard backlight.
If it is available then you should be able to use this theory

But I read also some threads here in the forum and in many cases this didn t work even as the keyboard backlight backlight was used

  • Satellite A500 - 15 h - keyboard backlight doesn't work anymore

    Hello @ all,

I don't know if it worked before with vista... but if all goes well.

Lighting is enabled in the Bios. Features (on F1 - F9) controlled by the Fn do not work as well as the tone that has been heard normally by using the function for lower keys / turn on the sound cannot be heard even if the sound signal is enabled in the BIOS.

    I hope someone can help
    Thanks in advance

I have already installed value added package and updated BIOS.
Under Linux, the keyboard is also not on.

    Hello

First of all, you need to get the keys FN working again.
To do this, you must install the VAP and the Toshiba Flash Cards support utility from the European driver Toshiba page.

    Regarding the backlight on the keyboard;

Not all laptops are supported the backlight on the keyboard.
You should check the Z button.
If the Z button would contain a sign tiny keyboard then the laptop was equipped with backlight on the keypad and it should be possible to activate this using keys FN + Z combination.
