HP 2000 - 2d09CA withdrawal of Windows 8 and Windows 7 installation

So after a lot of reading, I managed to install WIndows 7, however I have now discovered that there is missing and not available for download, drivers in particular, network controller, PCI Device, SM Bus controller and Ethernet controller. I found a few posts here where people found compatible drivers for their machines which they have downgraded successfully to Win8 to Win7 and I wonder if I'm in the same boat or am I relegated to reinstall Windows 8.

Thanks for any help.

Hello:

First install the amd chipset driver and restart.  You want the first file on the Web page.

http://support.AMD.com/en-us/download/chipset?OS=Windows 7-64

Then, all the W7 x 64 drivers and the software of this model will work on your own, except the driver for the wireless card (your needs a newer version).

DO NOT USE ALL DOWNLOADS OF BIOS OR FIRMWARE FROM THIS LINK

This driver for the wireless card should work on your model...

  • 13 and 14 Firefox installs incorrectly on my windows 7 starter edition. Also, I can not the Scrapbook addon to work. Can you tell me why?

I tried to install Firefox 13 and 14 on my netbook, a starter for Windows 7 operating system running. The installation starts to go smoothly since the file setup.exe; but after the installation appears to be complete, and I press the button "Open Firefox" program of firefox can be seen to start opening because it accumulates approximately 50 MB of private bytes RAM on the windows task manager or the service program of "process explorer" from sysinternals. However, the firefox window never opens and so firefox does not appear to be installed properly. "" Also I had problems with getting the album ' addon to install properly. " I have another computer, a laptop, XP family and I can get Firefox to 13 or 14 to install but it is on the other computer that I can't get the 'Scrapook' addon to install correctly. There is no notice on the Addon page saying the addon "Scrapbook" does not work on Firefox 13 or 14 and the addon installs, but not properly, so it does not work.

I have old files Firefox setup.exe, and if I'm successful to install an older version, firefox 3 or 4 on an external hard drive. I got this old firefox to work on XP Home Edition on a hard drive external laptop and can successfully use the addon "Scrapbook" in this way.

I don't understand why I have problems with Firefox 13 or 14. I think I first noticed the problem with Firefox 12 "Scrapbook".

Thank you marcsances for your reply very comprehensive. Your advice jogging my memory, so before I have done as you suggest, I reinstalled Firefox 14 and then uninstalled using the windows 7 program/control panel uninstall installation. In doing so, the Firefox uninstall window opens and when asked to choose to uninstall any program or all personal settings etc. too, choose to uninstall all personal settings too. I then reinstalled Firefox 14 and the Scrapbook addon and they now work correctly.

I daresay that your instructions are quite right, in this case, I don't have to go through the command prompt.

    Thank you.

    Hi Mandude,

What Windows version\edition you run the computer?

Step 1: Disconnect all external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) readers, etc...) Except the mouse and keyboard > check if installation of update takes place more quickly

Step 2: You can follow the steps mentioned in the article below, which deals with a similar question

  • Windows Update, error: "Windows Modules Installer has stopped working and was closed".

Whenever I run windows update, and try to install an update for Vista, I get the error message"

"Windows Modules Installer has stopped working and was closed"

. This has happened for quite awhile and I tried many suggestions on the web. If you do an internet search, you will see this seems to be a fairly common problem, but I can't find any official solution of Microsoft. I am afraid that I do not receive the latest updates and security patches so would like to help with this question.

    Thank you

    Hi guys

I had installed up-to-date antivirus software and my problem seems to start after an update from Microsoft. Do a search on the web and you will see similar stories. I spent so much time trying to solve this I think it's better just to do a re-install. Certainly not the resolution I had hoped, but appreciate this type of questions are almost impossible to solve the problems through intermittent mail such messages.

    Thank you

  • Where can I get a copy of the Windows XP installation for my sister. His was a virus and I had to format the drive. It's a registered computer

Where can I get a copy of the Windows XP installation for my sister. His was a virus and I had to format the drive. It's a registered computer. I have it ready for the operating system but I need to download a copy so I can retrieve my CD-ROM/DVD-Rom drive, so I can then bring to its system and reinstall the XP and then if she wants that we can get a windows 8. I use windows 8 on this system, I bought a few months ago and it's satisfying, but I don't understand why when I got it I could do things like using the keyboard of the screen with my fingers, but now I can't even use the keyboard mouse. It won't work at all. In a way I found it better that way at the beginning because I do a lot of typing and it would freeze until I was constantly stressed. I returned to Windows 7 mode I think but not sure.  All I know is that these two things have never worked correctly, so if they are still under warranty I will bring to the Future Shop and maybe they can fix it. I wish I could turn on and off easily so it does not interfere with my writing and study of a language second.

  • Windows Update offers me a few old updates, is there a way to track and organize the installation of update history?

    Original title: update windows

I am regularly offered 'old' updates for installation, for example, KB2487367 published 05/08/2011. Is it possible to copy my Windows Update history file to an Excel file? I could then sort by number of update and avoid download/installation of the old updates. Or better yet, is there a historic Windows Update file that is already sorted by number of update?

Yes, it was installed successfully (according to the history of the update). No indication that it was available on resetting for several days. I went through my entire history of update to see if/when it has been previously installed. It is not a major concern for download and install. Am I better turn off just the download of 'important' updates offered by Microsoft? He done wrong to "re-download"?

If you install, you may need it.  You only * need * to install critical / security updates really.

If the update installs correctly and not is not offered on several occasions "burst" - there is no harm in just letting Windows Update just "doing his thing"...

    tan7655,
If I read this correctly, you have a portable computer that do not have an operating system on it.  You try to install Vista and get the error.
You've restarted the Vista installation?  So then you get the same error? If you have tried to install more than once and continue to receive this error, check that the laptop is capable of Vista?  You may need to check with the manufacturer of the laptop to see if it is able to support Vista. Hi JRCLNSIN100,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forums.

We would like to get some more information from you to help solve your problem. You better, please answer the following questions.

    ·         What is the disk you use to reinstall?

    ·         Is this a recovery or reinstalling the disc you are using?

    ·         When exactly do you get this error message?

    ·         What is the edition of Windows Vista, you try to install?

    ·         How old is the drive that you are using?

    ·         How are you starting the installation process?

After researching the error 0x8007000D code is essentially due to file corruption and a problem with the drive itself.

First check if you have scratches or dust on the disc and clean the surface and try again.

To check if the disk is wrong, you will need to copy the contents of the DVD to the hard drive and try to install using that.

To perform a flat installation of Windows Vista, follow these steps.

Note The hard disk must have at least 3 GB of free space on the disk for the Windows Vista installation files. The hard disk must have at least 15 GB of additional disk space to install Windows Vista. For more information about system requirements for Windows Vista, see the Microsoft Web site at the following address:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/products/windowsvista/editions/SystemRequirements.mspx

    1. Insert the Windows Vista installation disc.
    2. Start Windows Explorer.
    3. In Windows Explorer, click to select the drive for the Windows Vista installation disc.
    4. On the Edit menu, click select all.
    5. On the Edit menu, click copy.
    6. Click to select the hard disk you want to contain the flat installation files.
    7. On the file menu, point to new, click the folder, type Windows Vista Setupand then press ENTER.
    8. Double-click the Windows Vista Setup program, and then click Paste on the Edit menu.
    9. Double-click Setup.exe, and then follow the instructions that appear.

See the link below for more information on flat installation.

This problem can also occur if the firmware of the DVD drive is defective or obsolete.

If the step above does not resolve the question suggests that you install the latest drivers for the DVD player on the computer.

  • Process host and Windows Modules Installer has stopped working and was closed!

    Hello

Some error messages I get are "host process for Windows Services stopped working and was closed" and "Windows Modules install Stopped Working and was closed."

It didn't happen until three weeks ago, when I did a system restore.

I searched the internet for a while now and can't find anything.

Thanks I hope you can help,

    Michael

    Hi Michael2017,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    2. When you receive the error message?

    3. are you able to install updates on the computer?

Windows Module installation service are the two basic services responsible for all your updates installed correctly. Windows Module Installer service enables installation, modification, and removal of Windows updates and optional components. If the Windows Installer of Module service is disabled, install or uninstall windows updates may fail.

Check and make sure the installation Module of Windows service is running on the computer

    (a) click Start; in the start search type services.msc and press ENTER.

    (b) ensure that the installation of Module Windows Service is running and the startup type must be handwritten.

    I hope this helps!

  • What is the difference between my "reinstallation DVD' and a 'Windows Vista Installation disk'

In a thread on repair Vista (link below), "a real Windows Vista Installation disc" has been claimed. Laptop Dell Inspiron 1525, my wife took a Dell DVD "Reinstalling Windows Vista Home Premium 32 BIT SP1 - DVD".

    Are they equivalent?

In general, yes your reinstall Dell drive is identical to a disc to install Windows genuine.

The differences are not applicable for the repair procedure. (FYI - Toshiba and HP Vista, the disks cannot be used to perform a repair install, while gateway disks will work for Vista)

    How to clean install Vista:

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
