  Restore the default values for the printer:

  Press the wireless button and the Cancel button in the control panel of the printer at the same time and then hold down for 5 seconds.

  The wifi password is stored in the keychain, and if you synchronize via iCloud Keychain it would be available for the new phone.

  I think you need to do a full install on the computer.  Here's a guide that should help you get installed it.  You can use the guide for your operating system.  You will need some information before you begin.

• With Macs DO NOT use symbols in your wifi passwords!

  It's more of a discussion of assistance than a question. I was recently informed by a wifi from my internet provider technician not to use symbols in my wifi passwords where I connected my Mac products. He said, in his experience, that's never a good idea. Apple seems to have problems with the symbols.

  Feel free to weigh in with your experience. But I think he was right. My Mac, ipads and phones, including my Apple TV still fell the signal in my house and a condo I have elsewhere (different internet service providers). I had everything checked lines, computers even buy a new modem and all I had to do was change the darn passwords for those with symbols. Head a slap!

  Now, I feel is no longer the problem. Amazing little trick that everyone should know!

• Airport Extreme doesn't let me change the wifi password

  While in the airport utility, I try to change my wifi password and I get "error when updating the configuration."

  There is also no list of what devices are connected to the wifi.

  All these things were there yesterday, no downloads or updates between yesterday and today.  Full cycle restarts were made.

  The Setup is Cox as ISP, my modem (Arris Surfboard SB6183), AirPort Extreme 5th gen.

  It seems that Cox is currently implementing a number of changes to their service having to do with IPv6 at the present time.  Cox users who have Apple routers have problems as a result of this, and... if we are using the correct information... Cox is telling users that airports are not compatible with the changes that have been made.  Here is an example of message that we saw today:

  Change default delegated prefix IPv6 in Airport Extreme with the Configuration automatic IPv6

  Cox suggests to reboot the router when a problem arises... that helps for some users, but not all.

  Disable IPv6 on the router from the airport... What is not possible. Even if it were, Apple uses IPv6 settings to enable communication with other Apple devices on the network. You can disconnect IPv6 to the WAN port on the airport by changing parameters IPv6 link Local Only... that Cox makes no mention of.

  Now the possible Catch 22.  You must be able to enter the parameters of the AirPort Extreme to change the link Local only... and if you can not access the settings on the airport... things will be difficult.

  You are able to open AirPort Utility, click on the image of the AirPort Extreme and then click on change to display the settings... page with tabs for different areas... or... you get an error message until you can get the settings?

  If you are not prompted to use the new password to your Wi - Fi network when trying to connect, you may have to remove the network on your system. This can be done by the following steps.

  1. Open system preferences in the Apple menu
  2. Choose the network
  3. Select a Wi - Fi connection on the left
  4. Click Advanced... in the bottom right
  5. Choose your network from the list of preferred networks
  6. Click on the '-' at the bottom of the list
  7. Click OK
  8. Click on apply

  Once removed try to connect to your Wi - Fi network normally and you will be prompted for the password.

  Hello! :) I recently got an iPhone 3 g from my friend, to use as an iPod because I can't afford the package of data that requires smart phones. Well, I can't find my Wifi password! :( I tried and do the "show characters" in wireless properties, but it won't let me. The box is... used output so you can not click it, unless you click on the box where the password is typed. And when I do that, the entire password disappears from the box! :( And there is also a box in the 'Connection' tab that says "Activate the WLAN connection settings" is unchecked.   I understand that you have trouble connecting your HP DeskJet 2545 because you forgot your password wireless. I'll be happy to help you.

  If you forgot your password wireless, you can always contact your internet service provider, and they can help you to recover or reset your password. The method you were trying before you will not give your wireless network password, but rather a pin connection Wi - Fi Protected Setup (WPS). This WPS pin can be used to connect your printer if you follow the steps below. I found this information in the user manual.

  Wi - Fi Protected Setup (WPS - requires a WPS router)
  These instructions are for customers who have already put in place and installed the printer software. For the first time installation refer to the installation instructions provided with the printer.
  To connect the HP Deskjet 2540 series to a wireless network using WPS, you will need the following:
  ● Wireless 802.11b/g/n network including a WPS compatible wireless router or access point.
  * NOTE: The HP Deskjet 2540 series only supports connections using 2.4 GHz.
  Laptop or desktop computer ● one is with wireless network support, or a (NIC) network interface card. The computer must be connected to the wireless network that you plan to install the HP Deskjet 2540 series on.
  * NOTE: If you have a WPS router with a WPS button, follow the Push Button method. If you are not sure that your router has a push button, follow the method Menu Settings wireless.
  Push Button Configuration (PBC) method
  1 hold down the button wireless to the printer for more than 3 seconds to start the WPS push mode. The wireless status light starts flashing.
  2. press the WPS button on your router.
  * NOTE: The product started a timer for about two minutes when a wireless connection is established.
  PIN method
  1. press on the wireless button and the button to launch the copy in black at the same time to print the network configuration page and look for a WPS PIN.
  The WPS PIN is printed at the top of the printed information page.
  2 hold down the button Wireless Control Panel of the printer for more than 3 seconds. The wireless status light starts flashing.
  3. open the configuration utility or the software for the router wireless or wireless access point and enter the WPS PIN code.
  * NOTE: For more information on using the configuration utility, see the documentation that came with the router or wireless access point.
  Wait about 2 minutes. If the printer connect successfully, the wireless light will stop blinking but
  remains lit.
