• HP Laserjet Pro 200 m251nw: I've got streaks printing on laserjet 200.

  All of a sudden, I have red streaks, printing on the right side of my documents. I tried using the cleaning page and it doesn't seem to help. I also have small black dots in various parts of the document which keep appearing on my documents. Cleaning that does not either.

  It seems to be a residue of red on the sponge roll just before the paper out of the printer. How can we clean this roller or must it be replaced to correct? I used my vacuumn to try to clean it up, but it doesn't do any good.

  I understand that you have a problem of magenta print quality printing of your color HP LaserJet Pro 200 M251nw of the printer. I would like to help you to solve this problem today. Thanks for the troubleshooting steps you have already tried before reaching out for support, including.

  On this model of printer there no zones in the product that you can clean it manually. The only method supported this printer paper path cleaning and area of the cartridge is running the cleaning page. You may need to run the cleaning a few times page to fix this.

  Sometimes red streaks can be caused by a low toner cartridge. When toner is low, it can gather in some areas inside the cartridge and create a "streak". I can have you hold the cartridge by the sides and shake it gently from left to right to redistribute the toner. Once the cartridge has been shaken, reinstall the cartridge. Once your cartridge is re-installed, please test print to see if the problem of dragging is still happening.

  If the problem persists you can please click here for the steps of quality supported by your printer. "Once the document of support opens please run through the steps to"check toner cartridge status"", "make the diagnosis of additional print quality" and "inspect the drum unit for damage".

  If the quality issue persists you may need to try a new HP authentic to verify whether this problem is caused by a magenta cartridge faulty cartridge or the printer.

  The black dots that you see are often caused by a dirty paper path roller or fuser on your printer number. As mentioned previously, the only way to solve a dirty paper path would be to run several pages of cleaning. A defective fuser unit would lead to a replacement of the entire unit.

• HP 5550 starts printing then feeds on blank paper

  My HP Laser Jet 5550 worked fine with XP for a year. Now when I try to print it feeds just a white pice of paper.

  I tried on two other PC's and it works fine.

  HP software it will be priny a test page, but every thing IE pictures, word etc documents he spits right on a blank page.

  I tried to UN install it remove drivers and printer then reinstal and nothing works.

  Found a thread which solved my problem. Is is turned out to be setting DEP, Data Execution Prevention windows has been changed.

  Turns out that what is called Data Execution Prevention setting has been changed.  Not sure how this has changed, perhaps on a recent update from MS, not sure.  In any case, go to control panel-> system-> advanced-> Performance, then select the setting button. In Performance Options, select Data Execution Prevention, and then select the radio button top of page "enable DEP for window essential programs and services only."

  I would contact the seller you purchased toner of. The toner doesn't have an expiration date, so it should still be good toner to use the correct printer and they are expected to resume. If it was a special price when you bought the printer then I would insist on the cartridges of replacement at special price.

• DeskJet 5550 cannot print the page to clean cartridges.

  DeskJet 5550, Win 7 64 bit, after clicking on the clean print cartridges, it does nothing. Power light is solid on. The menu box arrives with Click clean to clean the cartridges now. Clicking on clean makes this area of empty menu and nothing happens. No error or no program has stopped responding. Can the text and images fine print except that I need to run the utility for a few minor flaws. Past to the best setting which helped a lot. Does not print the calibration page either. Prints all the tests and the test page.

  I believe you can force a cycle of cleaning as follows: power on press and hold the power button, press on and release the button X twice quickly, then release the power button.  No page will print, but you should hear the printer to clean.  A more aggressive cleaning can be done by pressing the X button twice and once the page break button, a still more energetic cleaning by pressing the X button twice, then press the page twice break before releasing the power button.

  You can print a diagnostic page holding the power and then button by pressing the X button eight times followed by the button to jump to page four times, then release the power button.

  My yellow toner cartridge leaked all over my printer. I cleaned and replaced the toner cartridge, but now inks are very washed-out. Black is washed out and the color is really low. The white paper, where there should be no impression is now a light gray as if the black toner is very slightly printing.  Anyone know how I can fix this problem? I ran the demo sheet and recalibrated, but nothing has changed.  The printer works fine otherwise.

  Otherwise, if it is something that can not be repaired, are there other printers using the 124 a toner cartridges? I have two sets over black and color toner cartridges and would like to be able to use them if the printing problem is not repairable.

  It can be expensive to repair an out of warranty and in some cases unit, it is easier to replace the defective unit.  Your 2605 seems to have internal contamination to the printer which affects the PQ print quality.  If you decide to buy a new HP printer, try a search on the web for HP retail and trade upwards to see if there is a reduction which will apply.  I understand the question and from my experience, it is not a simple not an economical way to fix the printer.

• WPSM54G and Windows 7 print tons of useless pages with characters

  I'm in a bit of panic here. We have a major trade show coming up next week, and our print servers do not seem to behave with our computers and printers.

  I use 2 Windows 7 machines to print wireless via a WPSM54G on a HP ColorJet printer 2025dn. I always get the printer 1-2 test pages to print success, but then the printers starts spewing pages of unwanted characters. The only way I can stop it once it starts is to reinstall the driver. Otherwise, each subsequent printing is undesirable.

  I tried the drivers that came with the printer on CD, the drivers that are part of Win7 and 3 versions of different driver downloaded from HP site. All with the same result.

  Printers work as expected when connected directly to the computer, but as soon as I use the Printserver it again. I tried various settings found in these forums to implement on Windows 7, all with the same result? Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? This will seriously affect our exposure.

  A few additional notes, when I connect to the print server and print a test page, it works without fail. Print through Windows produces unwanted code. Note also that we have 3 groups, consisting of 2 computers, 1 print server and 1 printer. On all 3 groups, the result is the same.

  Once you get the internet connection, then try to update the firmware for the printserver and check if that helps!

  You should not do something when this message appears, it should disappear; as it is just informative.

  I guess you could try a cold reset on your printer.  This set your printer to the factory settings, delete downloaded fonts, etc...  So what are you comfortable recongifuring the printer:

  Product resets

  To restore the factory the product's default settings, follow these steps.

  1. turn off the product.

  2 hold down the arrow button to the right and cancel at the same time.

  3 all by pressing two keys, turn on the product.

  4 continue to hold both buttons until the storage Permanent. init appears on the screen and then release both keys.

  I was watching a few just referb cartridges today.  I had two in my hand and spoke to another technician who said that society referb clean very important he should which is deep inside.  I tried to google your exact cartridge to make sure that I was looking at a similar to yours and I couldn't not all the images out of the box, so I'll just describe what I saw and can let me know if yours does not:

  So I had this little 'flap' on the bottom of the toner cartridge and when I pull it slightly back and forth, I see the drum.  It is what can be easily replaced (by buying a new toner) If you see what looks like one white line - in other words damaged.  By just trying a new or used cartridge, you can solve the problem.  Although the referb may have a new drum in there, we're components deeper inside, which could cause problems like that, but to answer your question directly... eh, I doubt it, but you get about 60/40 chance of getting a good or bad toner when you get a refurbished.

  Research on the age of your printer, it's probably just some general maintenance reason so if you get a new toner and you you have the line again, look at my link and in this list, you will see a merger that's going to be the next thing I would check.  Pretty easy to change I guess.  I hope that answers your question.

• Canon printer does not connect via the IPP Protocol

  I work in a company that sells printers offices/schools/etc. Yesterday, we received a call from a customer indicating that the Copier, we sold them connected not to a new computer they bought.

  I went to the site and noticed that the computers in question were all purchased during 3 months and all loaded with Mac OS X El Capitan. Most was registered on 10.11.3, and some 10.11.2 and 10.11.1. All computers work turned Yosemite.

  It was a cannon imageRUNNER Advanced C5235. The client declares that if he saved the printer, it would not be able to print, but would still see jams paper, messages and other statutes of the computer printer toner. After attempting to remove and reinstall the printer using the most recent driver available on the Canon Website, we received the same error, the customer received. We escalated it to Canon support, who asked us to choose LPD instead of the PPI for the Protocol, allowing the printer to you connect and start printing on all devices running El Capitan.

  After further research, to my knowledge, the ISB is more recent and has more features that the LPD, although I couldn't find much on it so I was uncertain about the origins of these two protocols, except that they were introduced in the 1990s. I know it's kind of vague, but is better/more recent than PPI LPD? If so, great. Otherwise, is there a way to solve this problem and get computers that run El Capitan to connect correctly using IPP?

  The problem here is that the driver Canon UFR2 or PS that was used on the Mac to print in ADVANCE of Canon C52xx does not support PPI. This is why you must use an alternative Protocol.

  Note that it is possible to print to the C5255 using the PPI, but you need to use the Canon PPDs which means the copier must have the kit installed Postscript printer and you get not the pretty picture base views the pilot UFR2 and PS to give you.

  Second point is that the Canon UFR2 and PS drivers, it is preferable to use HP Jetdirect-Socket to the LPD protocol. He sent larger packets and verifies the status of the target unit - LPD simply sends data to the fixed IP address so if the printer has a problem you don't get this information until you walk up to the photocopier.
