HP compaq 6720 s

Hello

I have a laptop hp compaq 6720 s.
Now, I'm going to install windows 8.
Where can I find the drivers?

Sorry for my bad English.

Yes.

Just use your laptop support W7 drivers and driver page. Most of them should work.

A newer version of W8 exceeds consumer preview (Preview Release), that you can download on the link below.

    Hi all.

I tried similar topics before posting, finding nothing; so I apologize if I was wrong and a similar thread already exists.

I formatted my Compaq 6720 s, re-installation of Windows Vista (the same system before formatting). After that, I noticed that miss me the network drivers (the computer is not able to identify wi - fi networks) and I couldn't find them on the net. I installed HP wireless assistant but it does not help.

Also, I noticed that the system does not work in a full screen, but more about a square screen based on the height (so there is a black band on both sides), then, probably, I also have some problems within the video drivers.

Thanks to those who will help me by telling me where to find the drivers.

  • Compaq 6720 s won't start not

    Hello

I have laptop Compaq 6720 s Intel 1.7 Ghz, 1 GB of ram, running Windows XP Professional.

When I went on the laptopm the wifi led is on, power led is not lit and the led above the charge point lights with a light blue color and blinks. The screen is dark (see no activity here). I can hear the fans running and nothing else. It stays that way. When I unplug the power cord, the fans will continue to run and I had to cut the fans to perform on the power button of the laptop at all times.

Even the laptop is turned off, the indicator light above the power cord blinks without interruption. I removed the battery and plugged the power cord. Always the same condition. Now, the laptop power cord is not connected. I have strength under tension of the laptop (which disappears in turn fans). But the led above the power cord keeps burning anything.

I think I have a 1 year warranty left. I can communicate with HP service staff only on Monday. But I would like to know if I can do anything to throw upwards before that. More important, I want to know if my data is recoverable.

    Thank you

    Harish

    Try a hard reset.

Remove the battery and disconnect the electric plug adapter.

Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds. Then put the battery back and try a boot to the top in windows.

If it does not try reinstalling your modules of memory and try a boot up into windows.

Then see if external connection to the video out gives you monitor a way in windows.

If it does not try to remove your hard drive and see if your laptop shows the BIOS screen.

If still no go, pass any of this than troubleshooting insulation information about the HP Service Center.

I have laptop HP COMPAQ 6720 s. A few days ago, I run startup check using the bios. at the end of this review, I restarted my laptop. He sought power on password prior to loading the bios. I did not put any power on password until now. so please help me with this problem and suggest me a solution so that I can access my laptop.

This means that someone who has used the laptop put a power on password in the BIOS. He did not by himself.

is - can anyone provide the Bluetooth HP driver that will support with my system?

    You are the very welcome.

You should be able to use the Vista driver for the audio of your laptop support page, or be connected to the internet, click the multimedia audio controller requiring driver, click on the driver tab, click on update driver then Auto search.  Windows Update should find, download and install an audio driver.  It may take awhile for windows search, so be patient until it installs a driver or reports that he manages.

Same for ethernet, but you can also try the W7 ethernet driver directly from Intel...

  • HP Compaq 6720 s: Power-on password

    Hello world

My hard drive died a few months and when I bought a new, I couldn't do anything on my laptop because of some power on password. So, I google a bit and discovered that it's the BIOS password.
I get no error code because I wrote incorrect password three times, it shows only a strange sign. And, of course, I can't enter the BIOS and remove password.

My serial number is: [personal information deleted]

    P/N: GB902EA #AKN

    Service etiquette: C6720sUC530W5X16QBBN10AaSL

I'd appreciate any help or some generated password.

    Thank you

    Hello

Unfortunately, business machines such as Probooks or EliteBook have more strict security consumption patterns - they do not produce "stop codes", the password cannot be derived from the serial number and the code is stored in a nonvolatile memory to remove the RTC cell does not reset the password in this case.

If you Contact HP Business support they should be able to send you a file custom SMC.bin that you can use to reset the password at startup.

  • The password of Bios HP Compaq 6720 s

    Hey,.

Tried everything to remove bios password for this computer, purchased previously. He didn't give me any code locking of the system even if I try for wrong password several times. Is there a key combination to get this code?

I have S/N P/N ofcrouse and service tag numbers and codes from the back of the laptop, it would help to generate the password?

    THX in advance

    @wasdwasd

There is a major difference in the BIOS of the ProBooks and EliteBook "portable classroom business" and "laptops of class home".

Class portable home more produce a stop code "after 3 failed attempts" we can generate a master code of the

Some laptops from home to class have an option to set "STRICT SECURITY" which resembles that of laptops of class business. "If RIGOUREUSES SECURITY is enabled and that you forget the password it is impossible to remove it. »

I recently went into my bios Setup and click Load set default values and now my laptop does not charge upward, I get the blue screen of death flash and disappear.

I tried to reinstall my operating system, but it did not work as it says that my hard drive is not present and that I should check the set up.

    Can anyone help?

    @Winston1979,.

    Run the Bios.

    Reach:

Configuration menu of the native system-> device-> enable/disable SATA Mode configurations.

Changing the setting here on what you have now.

If you Select select disable and press F10 to save the Bios. Then go to file-> save changes and exit and press F10 for the economy again.

If you disable select Activate and press F10 to save the Bios. Then go to file-> save changes and exit and press F10 for the economy again.

  • Compaq 6720 has

I am having problem of wireless network and lack of driver for acpi\hpq0006. The wireless network does not flow with DHCP from my router. It comes up with another IP address and the gateway that is out of reach. IPconfig displays 101.128.65.170 on a 192.168.0.1 router. I have read some other posts here on the forum and it seems that HP is having a problem with their motherboard. I change to an Ip address and the static gateway, ping my router and most of the time back only 25 packages as appropriate. Waiting time is about 2300ms. I tried the ping command with my desktop computer to my laptop with the same results. In the Manager of devices/network adapters, it shows the wireless connection, works very well.

This is where I messed up completely; I had Vista on my computer which has always been slow and thinking it could be a software problem I updated to Windows 7. I wiped my hard drive and I had no backup of Vista discs (bad choice). I read, where one of your employees has stated that, in order to fix the hardware problem, you need the software on the computer, it came with. I've had this computer for a while, and if they don't fix it reasonably I'll just have to throw. I never heard a problem with motherboard of anyone, this seems to be more the factory default. Women use it just for Facebook and their games.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

  • HP compaq 6720 s windows vista basic, my system restore

What will happen if I restore my system to factory settings, and how do I do this?

    Hello:

Before you plan to do this, you should back up the files you want to keep as a recovery of the system to factory settings will erase all content on your hard drive and reinstall the operating system and programs from your PC as the day you got it.

To start the system recovery, you start the PC and at the beginning of the HP welcome screen, press the F11 key to start the Recovery Manager. Follow the instructions on the screen.

If this does not work, you will need to contact HP and order a set of recovery DVD.

  • upgrade Windows 6720 s

I want to upgrade the operating system on my HP Compaq 6720 laptop PC s (with processor Celeron) Vista to Windows 7. Could someone tell me if the system supports the 64 bit version of Windows 7, and if there is no problem to find 64-bit drivers?

    Thank you

    Andrew

    Hi, Andrew:

Officially your laptop is not supported for Windows 7 by HP or an operating system to 64-bit for this question.

My only concern would be to find a graphics driver for 64-bit and possibly the audio driver.

One other model specifications might work (HP 6910P) but there is no guarantee.

I suggest that you run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor and see what it reports.

  • 6720 T

I bought 2 used HP 6720 t and I wanted to know if they normally CD DVD players?

It was an option. What you have there is a "thin client" that runs a server environment. The software is not installed on the computer, in other words; just enough to initialize and find the server. They aren't portable ordinary normal and I'm not sure that they can be converted into ordinary laptops normals. If all you want to add an optical drive, the regular series 6720 will work:
