HP dv6000 with Hp lp2475w.

Hello... I know very little computers so any simple advice would be apreciated.

I have a HP Pavilion dv600 (vista 32 bit). It has a mounted Nvidia geforce Go 6150 graphics card.

I use mostly this laptop with photoshop to edit photos. Because of the limitations of the screen of the laptop I buy a HP LP2475w monitor to use as an external display. This screen has a native resolution of 1920 x 1200. My spec graphics card ' says that it will support monitors up to this res.

We know if this material match will work OK? All the problems?

My NVIDIA Control Panel does not have a facility to change the screen resolution so I would normally change it in Control Panel, but listed here max res is 1280 x 800. Is it because it's the res max for the laptop screen? Does then change it to a maximum of 1920 x 1200, after I installed the new driver monitor and selected which monitor?

Because the graphics card uses the memory of laptops I need to change the settings to allow him to use more?

If so how would I do that?

Sorry... a few questions in here!

Thanks for any help

It should work perfectly. There is no way to change the video memory and no need to do so. The pilot video and material pull in as much memory as necessary to support that the work you do. Yes the only resolution that you have now is 1280 x 800, because that's the max of the laptop screen resolution. Once you plug in the external monitor, another screen will appear and you can configure in nVidia control panel. See if it doesn't just without load the driver for the monitor and if not, then load the monitor driver that comes with the monitor. You only need to run screens dishes (including your built in the laptop screen) to the default resolution, which is also the max.

You can consider to extend the Windows desktop on the external screen, but you can also mirror the current desktop on the external monitor. My wife is a professional photographer who lives his life's work in Photoshop. It uses an extended desktop arrangement and Photoshop at the pictures on the extended part of the office. You will find that the HP monitor is very steeped in colour and that it requires calibration to give you an accurate picture of how your photos will look once they are printed. Calibrate a screen for Photoshop work is a bit of an art in and of itself and there are software and hardware tools that help:

  • Updating BIOS for Win7 on Pavilion DV6000

    Hello

I have an older HP Pavilion DV6000 with 4 GB of RAM (2 GB RAM upgrade).    However, only 2.69 GB can be used.   It has been suggested that I have upgraded the BIOS and turn "remapping memory."    The OS is Win7 Home Premium 32 bit OS.

l has a problem to find good BIOS upgrade.

Currently, the version of the BIOS is F.3D

    Processor: AMD Turion 64 x 2 Mobile Technology TL-56 1.80 Ghz

    Product ID: 00359-062-3478866-85570

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated as my new software needs more RAM to work.

    Thank you!

    Sam

    You are the very welcome.

Chart type is the main factor.

Even if your laptop has a Nvidia graphics card, a system memory is set aside for the graphics.

There is nothing you can do to change the amount of memory usable in your PC, unfortunately.

I was having this same problem, but was able to install the updates. I don't know what makes the difference, but I've done two things differently.

    (1) I turned off the Windows Magnifier.

    (2) the cancellation is always produced when updates have been started automatically. I ran the update manually and updates have been installed successfully this time.  (Start, all programs, HP, HP Update)

I have Notification set up to automatically check the Web for updates.

I put it to check for updates every week.

    I have a Pavilion model #: a6750t.

Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1

    Hope this helps.

  • Windows 8 and dv6000

I haven't posted anything yet so I thought I'd let anyone who is curious given know: Yes, you can upgrade your DV6000 with Windows 8.  I did mine a few days ago and it seems to work great so far.  The procedure described in the thread Windows 7 Upgrade Guide for HP laptops for laptops of level 3 pretty much works for Windows 8, but with even less work.

My hardware configuration given that class DV6000 laptop computers were so many hardware configurations.  Not sure if I have a DV6000 DV6100 since my case has a certain product number and my BIOS has a number of different products.

Intel Centrino Duo T5600 at 1.83 GHz
    Intel ICH7 chipset
processor nVidia GeForce Go 7400 graphics
    Built in webcam
    SD card slot

I did a backup of my hard drive image by moving the drive of my laptop to another computer and using Acronis True Image backup (free versions available at Seagate and Western Digital).  Replaced the hard drive and run Setup from Win8 since a DVD burned ISO image created by the Upgrade Wizard of Windows 8.

I selected "Custom" for the type of installation, so I could change the partition of my hard drive.  Like most HP laptops, I had a recovery Partition and a partition without a name (diagnostic?).  I used the Setup program to remove all partitions so that Win8 would have the use of the disk set.

The installer of Windows 8 identified and installed the drivers for most hardware on my laptop.  Drivers not installed by the Setup program were for the audio Conexant modem Conexant soft, quick launch buttons, the Ricoh 5-in-1 card reader and the nVidia GPU.  All, but the card reader Ricoh and driver nVidia GPUS have been downloaded by Windows Update, when first update.  If you are connected to the internet during installation, the installer can download drivers during installation.

The installer has correctly identified the Ricoh memory card reader and buried a message in the center of the Action.  The message tells you automatically to a HP's FTP server to download the driver for the memory card reader.

The only factor that had to be downloaded and installed manually was for the nVidia GPU.  The latest worm driver 179,48 for Win7 from the nVidia Web site has worked well.  Do not use the Vista driver on the HP site.  The tiles disappear with it.

And that's all.  I was able to find more recent drivers for the Intel PRO / Wireless and I always check other materials.  But the installer of Windows 8 does most of the work and did it properly.

Windows 8 feels much faster than Windows XP.  It starts without a doubt faster and other window operations feel more quickly together.  The Metro interface is a little weird, but I can live with that.

So if you have a DV6000 similar to mine, Yes, you can put Win8 on it.

  • SSD for dv6000

I have a Pavilion dv6000 with Vista 32-bit, which requires a restore, but I would like to take the opportunity to install a SSD. Although I saw some stores with patterns that indicate 'compatible' with my machine, I want to know the specs of what I need.

  • Compaq dv6000 - screen divided into 4

Compaq DV6000 with processor intel core duo and 950 GMA intel card, whenever I start the computer, as soon as it starts, the screen is divided into 4 identical screens, and remains in the same way even after check-in. on vista home premium, looked at the properties to all the graphics, portable restored to factory settings, still problem persists. interesting, however, that display the same laptop to display extended is fine.

Picture attached in the following post: http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-compaq/690743-hp-dv6000-screen-split-into-4-please-help.html

    Help, please!

    Thanks for the p/n

This means that the problem is hardware related. An integrated video chip of your laptop system board has problems.

If your laptop is still under warranty that HP can be replaced under warranty. Check the status of the guarantee

You should also check to see if your laptop battery falls under the recall program

If is no longer in warranty, you need to decide when you replace the motherboard of the laptop or possibly having sewn video chip (it is cheaper) is worth the expense. There are online companies who specialize in this type of repair.

What are the chipset and the video chip to the system board from your laptop?

Use CPU-z and GPU-z at the end of this information.

  • Problem with laptop Pavilion dv6 wireless connection

I have a problem with a computer laptop dv6-6b50ea Pavilion of customers. He has win7 64 bit installed and an Intel Centrino WirelessN1030 with blutooth wireless card.

The user has used the laptop abroad with a 3G usb dongle with T-Mobile, but now wants to connect to his home wireless router.

Initially only the two switched 3g options are visible in the network for the connection options. Therefore, I uninstalled all T-Mobile software for control of the key usb 3g and removed the dial two profiles, but the laptop wouldn't see any wireless connection.

The orange light was on the f12 key and I couldn't get the wireless to work. Finally I found that even if it has been enabled in the HP connection manager, it has been disabled by Windows Mobility Center. I finally got the light turns white but still saw wireless networks while two other laptops could see the router in the same place.

I took the computer laptop and tried it on my own wireless network, and although he saw them he said that they were very poor and wouldn't connect. I tried all the normal things like turning off the antivirus and windows firewall. I've updated the software of the driver from the HP website, but it still wouldn't connect.

Finally, in desperation I disabled two virtual connections created by the driver. Finally he saw all my access points Wi - Fi including some a long way outside. I have is that it connects and thought that I had a crush, but restarting it would link is no longer. Since I brought the oldes driver I can find on the Intel site, updated twice by HP Support Assistant, who has updated the bios and installed the latest drivers intel, but it now not see any wireless network, or if it does sporadically and does not connect. Ethernet connection works fine.

I've seen lots of messages on mobile phones of series dv6000 with Wi - Fi and an overheating issues etc. What is the same thing with the dv6 6b50ea?

    Any suggestion would be appreciated

I had a very similar problem with Tablet Dell Latitude slate ST of my son.

He has the card brand Dell Atheros wireless bluetooth/wireless combo. He had connection problems in W7, but I was finally able to make it work most of the time.

I saw on the Dell forums, a lot of people complain about this card.

I installed W8 on the Tablet and there is no pilot, so I resorted to an old driver w7 and I can't get the map to work most of the time.

So, I ordered an Intel 6230 without wireless/bluetooth combo card for it and I'll see if it makes a difference.  Intel has W8 drivers for the card.

I did the same thing you did... inserted a map of the network, D - Link DWA-125 USB into the USB port.  W8 recognized, installed the drivers and it connects without any problems at all.

The difference between my situation and your is however that the 1030 Intel has no problems experienced with W7 link I know, that's why I suggested a factory reset to see if you can start from scratch and exclude a hardware malfunction.

If the card still does not work, then of course we should be replaced by a card support listed in the service manual.  Unlike Dell, with all computers laptops HP, you can install one of the maps in the service manual and they must have the part number HP on them or they do not work.

    Kind regards

    Paul

  • The upgrade of the motherboard on DV6000

I have a DV6000 with an Intel processor. I want to spend the motherboard, so I can install both a faster processor and a better graphics card. My question is... What is the best motherboard that I can install on this case? I don't mind to do a small modification to the case if one plank DV6500 series and above will fit, I would that the HDMI output. So overall, I need to know: the best advice for a DV6000, what change in case do I need to do, and what additional parts will I need for the new motherboard. I know I have to upgrade my fan and the heat sink.

    Thank you

Now I got it. The card mother G72M is for an Intel processor with the dv6000 series nVidia graphics. The other 2, I think, use the integrated graphics card Intel. The G72M will perform better, but you risk running into default from nVidia that swept dv6000s and prompted a recall. If you can live with graphics performance Ho-hum I would receive the mother board 945 chipset, because as far as I know that those who have not caused any problems. Here is the motherboards used replacement HP for your model series. They represent the water drop in replacements except it may require some work miners dremel to breach to tell a firewire port which would not have been on your machine to the origin but which is on the replacement motherboard.

Here check this out if your computer is part of the improvement:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01087277

If it then hits free HP repair because more or less, that has to do with the motherboard that needs to be replaced.

Hope this will help. Let me know if you have any other questions.

  • Image factory - frozen at 74% recovery

Hello!  I'm doing a recovery Image Facotry with a CD and the system was stuck at 74% with 13 minutes from the end for more than an hour now.  Is this normal? I have a Pavilion DV6000 with Vista Home Premium.

Yes, there are sometimes a few hours. Make sure the wireless switch is turned on.

  • Broadcom Wireless stopped working after Windows updates

    Hello, everyone!

I have a Pavilion dv6000 with wireless network. Everything was OK, but last Monday the blue wireless light was suddenly always amber and me did not have wireless access. These are the facts about my problem:

    * I reset my laptop to factory - wireless configuration works very well

    * Windows Update all installed, but one, updates - wireless works fine

    * I installed the new Windows Live Messenger - WIRELESS STOPED working

    * I uninstalled Windows Live Messenger - wireless works fine

    * Windows Update installed .NET Framework 3.5 (it was the update of Windows I jumped at step 2)-without WIRE EFFONDRES WORKING

And now, my problem is that even if I try to "roll back" to a "restore point" before installing .NET, I get an error and I don't seem to be able to "Uninstall".NET 3.5. On the other hand, the pilot "Broadcom Wireless 802.11 g" has disappeared from the Device Manager and I don't seem to be able to reinstall it, or not reinstalling patches 'HP Wireless Manager' the problem.

    Can you help me, please?

    Thanks in advance,

    Nuno

Work on laptop of my boss's son is having the same issue... I got to work by going into safe mode device manager and delete all references to pci bridge and restart... xp detects the wireless card as well as all pci bridge components and everything is golden... update XP sp3 now and go see if only the pipes still wireless card... will put in day this post when finished... im on xp, but I'm sure it would work for vista too many... questions you can email [email protected]

    * Update *.

Installation of XP Service Pack 3 has made clear the wireless card again... is returned in Manager mode and the security apparatus and remove all references to the PCI subsystem devices except Bus PCI and ISA standard PCI bridge and rebooted and bam wireless card is back... it is quite boring... my recommendation would be to turn the builtin wireless power off and go buy a wireless usb card and do with it...

  • Reinstall Windows Vista Edition Home Premium

I have a HP Pavilion dv6000 with Windows Vista Home Premium.  This laptop has his OS damaged somehow, of great utility and inefficient clean ups.  After that failure with another attmpted fixed, I plan to reinstall Windows.  I have the original restore disks (recovery CD HP QuickPlay application (c) 2005 and the small Manual HP QuickPlay April 2005.  In this manual, it is said: If you plan to reinstall your operating system, first read... Relocation of QuickPlay... [and]... Installation of QuickPlay will stop if you try and install io QuickPlay on a laptop not supported.

That means not supported (1) with expired warranty?  This means... (2) a different from this particular dv6000 laptop?  (3)... something else?

If not taken into (1) average load with an expired warranty, and what options are there to reinstall Windows Vista Home Premium on this computer?

Neither QuickPlay application restore CD or Application and Driver Recovery DVD are the disks necessary to reinstall Vista. Do you have another drive?

Alternatively, you can try to tap the F11 key immediately after switching on the laptop to try to boot in Recovery to make a factory reset.

See the section "start a restore from the hard drive & the computer is off:

I have a HP Pavilion dv6000 with AMD Turion 64 x 2 Proccesor. It is extremely slow, only 1.80 Ghz. is it possible that I can update the graphic card of at least 2.4ish and possibly RAM too?

On the background. Assuming that it is in the earlier 6499 dv6000 series and has an AMD processor here is the Manual:

    Manual

    It's the best processor:

    AMD Turion ML-60 2.0 GHz

.2 improvement is not enough to get excited about. It tops out at 2 GB of RAM. It will simply not be able to be upgraded to be a fast computer. An SSD can help a little, but even to say a 120 gig SSD will cost $80 or more and I would not invest in this laptop. They are perhaps the most infamous laptops ever made and did not massively. There was a class action lawsuit and a silent reminder of years, involving the graphic chip nVidia.
