HP DV7-3063cl laptop PC: BIOS cannot locate the serial number of the new motherboard more PXE - E61: Media test failure, check
I have recently restored a HP DV7 3063 cl laptop that died a hot mother (MB). I replaced the MB with a new Board of Directors of HP when the price has been reduced to $100, updated the CPU with an announced as new AMD 640 M and applied Arctic Silver on CPU and graphics chips. I put in 4 G memory cool, got the computer to work and installed Windows 10.
However, I have several problems:
The BIOS cannot locate the serial number of the motherboard during the boot process and sends a message to the effect. I hit the ENTER button start continues.
I tried to access the BIOS to enter the serial number or other possible solutions, I found online. Help forum a HP had a BIOS software tool for editing of Compaq in 2000 but said it would only be on the desktop and HP staff will provide a BIOS for my laptop.
2. I get two error messages that
PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of
PXE - M0F: Exit PXE ROM
I didn't know all the patches for this issue, but it only delays the process of starting shortly before it continues.
Finally, the computer starts Windows, but other problems.
mhscholder,
There isn't any publicly available method to update information in the BIOS. HP only authorized service providers can update the MB after installation. You will get this message during boot every time. You also won't be able to run a recovery since the recovery media is looking for this information.
The PXE errors generally occur during the initialization of the network is listed in the boot order before the hard drive.

PXE - E61: media test failure after update BIOS on Dell Inspiron 5759
Hi everyone and thank you in advance for the help.
I explain the problem: after upgrading the BIOS to version 1.2.2 the laptop has rebooted and showed the following message appears:
Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller series v1.36 (26/11/14)
PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable of
PXE - MOF: Exit PXE ROM.
No found boot device. Press a key to reboot the machine.
I used diagnostic ePSA and the tests were all OK, then I tried to restore the default settings in the BIOS, but nothing has changed.
Anyone has any advice to solve the problem?
Thank you once again,
Vittorio

PXE - E61: media test failure on 3500 Portgege but can't get into the BIOS
I canoe get into my BIOS menu.
I tried all the keys (ESC, F1, F2, delete, etc), but then I get the message: "PXE - E61: media test failure, check cable for.
"PXE - M0F: PXE ROM of output. I tried everything, but I can not even access the BIOS menu.Turn on the laptop and hold ESC, then press F1 when prompted. By pressing F12 at startup should give you a start menu. (It's in the user manual)
The PXE error means its trying to boot from the network, because it can not find an OS on the HARD drive.
Test the HARD drive by using a HARD drive test. The Advanced test in Hitachi DFT is good. (google is your friend)

MeshaHello
It seems that the player is unable to boot from the recovery CD and the switch to boot from LAN.
The error PXE - E61 message because the LAN cable was not connected and the laptop is not able to find a source of network bootI think you should check the recovery CD and perhaps you will need a new

Satellite A30 PSA30E cannot start properly - PXE - E61: Media Test Failure
Hope someone can point me in the right direction.
I decided to use the recovery cd to format my laptop and do a clean install, because it became very slow.
It takes an age to start etc.I followed the instructions on the leaflet that was packaged with the CD and everything seems to work very well.
The files seem to be loading but after abuot 7-8 minutes (about 15% in the process) is an error page came with the following."For Realtek RTL8139 (X) /8138/ 810 X PCI.
PXE - E61: Media Test Failure, check cable
"PXE - MOF: PXE Rom of output.I noticed that the power supply has been very hot and the bottom of the computer was also very hot so perhaps thought that the power supply is maybe defective. I had an another same PSU so tried again with this.
Same problem again!
Do you think that the hard drive is faulty? I haven't noticed any problems before, except for the slow response generally.I would be grateful for any useful comment.
Hello
This message usually if the laptop cannot find a bootable device and finally tires to boot from LAN.
But if the boot to LAN is not possible then the message PXE - E61: Media Test Failure, check cable would appear on the screen.Generally, this will happen if the HARD drive is not accessible (dead or defective) or the laptop cannot boot from the disc.
I think that you should first check if it would be possible to solve this problem by using a new HARD drive.
Goodbye & good luck

I went on the Mozilla site to download to my Mac. I read the excellent instructions, but cannot locate the green arrow to start the download! I did not remove accidentally the arrow, as it was never there to be seen. I use Safari and don't have Firefox on my MAC (to my knowledge).
Thank you
PS: I clicked on the 'automatically add' and downloaded the file, but when I tried to open it, I get the message "Safari cannot read this file. Cool, huh?

Open the Firefox disk image file and drag the Firefox program into the Applications folder on your hard drive.
Do not double-click the Firefox to run from the disk image, but instead, drag it out of the DMG file. -
ITunes cannot locate the music for a specific artist
All my music does not appear on my computer and my itunes, except one of my artists. Their albums/songs appear in itunes, but they may not be located on my computer. It is the music of a single artist and two albums. It allows me to play the songs on my ipod, iphone and ipad, but when I try to play music on my computer, it displays an exclamation point and the custom find or play. What should I do?
The exclamation point means that it cannot locate the files in the iTunes Media folder.
Looking for a specific file in Spotlight. Since you know what an artist is missing, search for this artist, album or song using Spotlight. If it's on your computer, projector find. All the music files in iTunes should be in the music folder. Open the Finder, click go > go to folder and paste the following text:
~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music
Or, if you think it has been moved out of the folder of music, just look in the iTunes Media folder. It could have been placed in the right folder
~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media
If you have a backup with Time Machine, you can also enter Time Machine and restore the file (assuming that she has been saved before he disappeared).

Cannot install network printer on Windows 7. Detects the printer then it says cannot locate the driver. All my vista and XP machines have no problem finding drivers. It is a 32-bit 64-bit vs questions? How can I fix it?
Windows Server 2008 network. Printers have ip addresses. Install the drivers from the Print Manager. /Terminal Server Workgroup installation. It's the same situation with XP. The print driver names must match. If you notice the name of the printer driver that uses XP is a name different from the one that is installed when you plug in the device on the Windows 7 computer. This is just my assumption, please correct me if this isn't the case.
The real solution is to install a 32-bit driver on the XP machine that uses the same name that the 64-bit driver and share a printer using this driver or find a 64-bit driver that uses the same name as the 32-bit driver installed on XP and install the driver on XP.

Message: ' Catalyst Control Center: the application host - the host application has stopped working. "
[This is a link to the question... Click on it].Essentially, it seems that in your message subject and body in this issue, you must download and install the latest version of the device for your AMD AMD video card driver. It is an AMD problem, not a problem with Microsoft.
However, since you have not given the brand & model of your computer or video card / the device in question - the best you can do is point you to where AMD is an application that allows you to scan and find the latest device driver and catalyst for your video card device software.
