HP dv7 3065dx LCD screen reverse polarity?

Hi, I'm sure that this issue is dragged from a laptop similar model, but since I'm sure that the question involves a kind of hardware or BIOS fix, I want to be sure that I get the info on the correct exact model.

My laptop works fine when hooked up to an external monitor.

Without, it starts and I can hear the sound windows boot/logon screen and can even type my password.

The question is this: when a power supply (AC and/or battery) is active and the PC is OFF, the LCD is bright white and nothing show.

When the computer is started/activated, the screen is black and white. Without power, the screen is obviously next door.

I disassembled the unit and removed the LCD and everything seems to be intact (backlight cable, inverter, points of contact, etc.). I feel like the problem is that the current is reversed somehow so the display reads like IT when the computer is OFF (but under tension) and vice versa.  Solutions or existing threads? I read most of the patches 'black screen '...

It is hard to say chomperscody. Since it is a hardware issue, and you would pay out of pocket, I would recommend to go with the cheapest option first. Seems unlikely that the power adapter is the issue, but it is certainly possible. I think that the most likely cause is the motherboard because the keys do not work properly too. Don't forget, you can have several hardware problems.

    Warranty has expired

I wish I could give you more details but this is another post that I am currently working on and I'm trying to fix my laptop grandparents for them. Their HP laptop turns on but no screen appears. I tried reset hard and external display nothing is thus to try to connect it to an external monitor and my T.V. so with an HDMI cable. When you press the power button on the fan, hard drive, processor and the LED lights all work. I disassemble the laptop best I could without losing myself to check the defective wiring and I couldn't find anything wrong or out of place. Nothing was loose at all.

How it happened, it's from what I hear they were watching a youtube video and the sound go haywire and their screen went all white. They could not fix the screen or sound problem, so they manually stopping power button computer. When they went to turn it back on everything started upward as much as internals go but the screen stays black and if you let it run for a period of time you are not here to boot windows. I took their hard drive and tested on my computer and it works fine so I know it isn't the hard drive. Their RAM and processor are in place and appear to have no damage done to them. I wasn't able to to the motherboard when I picked this place because I didn't lose my place with the screws and connections.

IF anyone can help me solve this laptop I'll greatly appreciate. I thank you for having taken the time to read this post I can't wait to hear from someone who can help.

For anyone else who has seen this page looking for a possible answer, I solved the problem. The hard reset to laptops in now that the power button is supposed to get rid of static electricity leaves behind her question on use and General construction to the top of a constant load. How I fixed it, it was by a manual HARD reset by stripping the laptop goes down to the processor itself, release and go out for about 30 seconds. If you follow this route make sure not to wear latex gloves so also no damage the motherboard. Replace the processor after 30 seconds: (optional and what I've done - is to put a piece of copper spacer between the top of the processor and the heatsink in very thin copper). After that doing this step and put it back together my black screen problems seems to have been resolved.

  • Equium L40 returned in reverse LCD screen

The image on the LCD screen of my new Equium L40 itself changed in use. How do you put right?

You can rotate the screen in different position.
AFAIK, display position can be enabled by using the ctrl + shift + R key combination.
This really works on laptops with nVidia cards.

Other graphics cards could use another association as CTRL + ALT and upward or to the LEFT or down or to the RIGHT

  • ENVY of HP DV7 - replacing the screen 7230us

Just a few questions if you let it. Unfortunlsoately my laptop fell on the floor and the screen cracked. I have a new replacement on the way. Mind you, I replaced the screens of laptops before gently and smoothly. On each of them, in the place where the cable Ribbon which extends from the motherboard and attaches to the screen he is and was a warning label 'do not touch'. Take this warning seriously I've always avoided this and do not touch.  On the WANT DV7-7230us the place where the ribbon cable connection is made it is difficult, but not impossible, to do not touch this area. It is a possibility, I might have to hold a small area to re - attach the cable on the new screen. My question is why he cannot be touched? I somehow damage the new screen if I accidentally touch or hold this area? Just one simple answer other than 'just don't touch' would be great.  Thank you.

    Hello

I think that the warning "do not touch" is intended for the Board of LCD screen.

  • Dv7-3065DX graphics card overheating

    Greetings,

I bought the DV7-3065DX and discovered that there is a heat problem.

I have installed World of Warcraft plays when I don't envy sitting at the desktop computer. I started the game with pretty high settings and noticed that the pace was incredible. I was getting SPF 50 + to Dalaran, which is simply incredible for such a humble map.

After a few minutes, the game hangs on a black screen and I have to restart the laptop. I noticed there was of enormous heat out the vents and the fan was going nuts pump the heat out.

Rather than simply resume at Best Buy, I thought help out a little and found something interesting.

What follows is set to power personalized settings. I have reproduced the performance plugged in every detail.

When the laptop is off, WoW goes with parameters of medium/high 18 to 40 + fps which is what I expected from this card. The game works and is very nice with rock solid stability.

At the time where I have connect to the monte in arrow of the frame rates and after some time, the laptop blackscreens and must be restarted. I started running through the Power Options, and everything was in the battery exactly settings like trendy settings.

I've strangled the processor and has always had the same problem. So I adjusted the ATI Powerplay settings so when it's plugged, it "maximizes independence."

After doing that and plug in the power, the rate falls to 10-15 and the laptop stay cool and doesn't crash, although the framerate is now very poor.

My conclusion is that it seems to be a driver problem with the ATI Powerplay, which is the path of the card running too hard when it is plugged. I would remind you that when I 'Maximize Performance' on battery and laptop is unplugged, WoW is great.

Although my conclusion is that it is a driver problem, if anyone out there has the 3065DX and WoW runs great only plugged while would they let me know. If they do not have this problem then it would be possible, I have another problem so that an exchange of the laptop may be in order.

    Thanks for reading

    Update:

I'll be back the HP laptop. I have to say that once you get past this initial call of tortuous to HP, the speed in which the laptop is repaired and shipped back is remarkably good.

They replaced the motherboard, cooling system and reimagee the reader. I installed WoW back and tested the warm-ups.

The rate increases that plugged while (I fully mirrored the power settings for plugged/unplugged), but now the increase is much less and WoW can now finally run with the power supply connected.

    Thank you

  • Satellite PRO U500 - LCD screen size is reduced

    Hi all,

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro U500 with one small problem, the size of the LCD screen is reduced. I have a white border to the right and down. The max resolution is 1024 x 768.
The problem is visible also when I enter the BIOS, so I think that the problem is not Operting System drivers.
Is there a solution to my problem? I have to send in the audience?

    Thank you for the help
    Giuseppe

    H

It is really strange, especially if you see the same thing in the BIOS settings?
Since when did you notice this behavior?
Do you use pre-installed OS original you got with your laptop?

Have you done something that may be responsible for the issue described?

    I U500 and default display resolution is 1280 X 800 t, so I understand why you have 1024 X 768 on your U500.

  • Re: Satellite M300 - should I replace a damaged LCD screen?

My LCD screen is damaged and almost impossible to use. The laptop is still under warranty, but I understand screen damage are not covered. I don't know even how it happened. I'm not aware of any bump or impact to the unit.

It is better to spend the money to replace the screen or it would be cheaper to buy a new computer? It is a spare computer that is only used if I am away from giant, holidays, at hospital etc.

That the cost would be about, in Australian dollars?

    Thank you
    warrawillah

    Hi warrawillah,

I think that it of difficult to tell if you need to replace the screen or buy a new computer. In my opinion it s based on the price of the new view.

You need to contact a service provider authorized in your country. Guys can order all spare parts and if you want to replace it also.

    Good luck!!!

  • LCD screen turns off without reason - Satellite M40X

I have a problem with my laptop Satellite M40X, I work when the LCD turn off and I hear two PIF. To turn on the LCD screen I need to restart the laptop, but the problem persists after a few minutes.

    Can someone help me, please.

    Hello

Here you can compare the version of the BIOS installed on the laptop with the one published on the page of the Toshiba driver.
If you use the older BIOS, you can try to update. Maybe the update will sort this strange behavior.

But there could also be a hardware malfunction if the BIOS update does not help.

  • Portege R100 video cable does not reach the replacement LCD screen

Hi guys, I have replaced the LCD screen of my Toshiba R100, than they had in it was defective. It seemed that it was a replacement at some point however. In any case, I received my new screen, but does not reach the video cable to the top of the circuit of LCD screens. How am I meant to connect it to the screen? Is there an extension cable or what? The screen they had in there previously looked like they were welded copper wires about 8 digitizer.

Here are 2 pictures of what I mean

    Hello

Where did you buy this screen?
Are you sure that it is perfectly compatible with your laptop protected R100 to 100%?

Looks like it s not fully compatible
However, if an extra cable is necessary you can get it from the Toshiba ASP in your country.

In your case, I recommend you contact the guy and ask for compatible cable!

    Welcome them

  • Satellite 5100 - LCD screen no longer lights

Hi, I hope someone will help me on this problem.

After disassembly of the top satellite covers the lcd screen that does more, but I guess the system is working properly because I can hear windows access "jingle". I think that I reconnected it all cables (green and white connectors for the video card), but I'm not sure thin brown/white/black cable of the lcd screen. That's all

    Hi stefano88,

Why you have disassembled the LCD?

To be honest I n don't know cables, you want to say you also plugged the UPS FL for LCD display? This is necessary because FL inverter controls the backlight of your screen.

Can post you a photo of the cables you want to say?

  • Satellite Pro U300 - the broken LCD screen

    Hi all

My first post please bare with me.

I have a Satellite Pro U300, who has a broken LCD screen.
I have a replacement screen, but not sure how to go abouts it change places.

Someone at - it a service manual for this model or the tricks and tips on how to disassemble the unit to swap the LCD broke with a new one?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The service manual can be downloaded. It s not for the public and it s only for Toshiba and approved providers available I think.
On the Toshiba site, you can download the user manual, but I doubt it would be useful for you.

I think the best way would be if you go to an authorized service provider. The exchange of the LCD is a little tricky and you should have experience with this.
On the Toshiba site, you can search for an ASP. I m sure that the technicians will help you. ;)

  • Part number 2006 imac 17 inch lcd screen

Hello I have a question to try to get the correct part number Apple for a replacement LCD for my iMac Early 2006 17-inch 2.0 GHz model A1208 screen please?

And yes my computer developed the vertical lines that eventually became half of a black screen, and although I can connect on my old iMac and see half of my office, I notice that I can not open the photos or images.

So, I'm now trying to fix it.

If you know what Apple suggested replacing correct these bad LCD screens, I would really appreciate it!

    Thank you!

  • Tecra 9000 - no display on the LCD screen when you turn on

I recently got a Tecra 9000 for cheap on eBay. I am experienced with the construction and repair of computers, but not so with laptops.

The problem with this laptop, it's that do not display on the LCD screen when you turn on. It was just black, no backlight, nothing. I took the laptop all share, found no obvious problem. I had to turn it on and the screen lights up a few times trying to figure out the problem. Would it be a bad connection? Or something else?

After getting it to start work, I'll try to start to put it back together and it stopped working again. I haven't not been able to reduce it to know if it's a bad connection or a card problem.

Someone at - it suggestions? This is a problem for others here?

As you describe the issue, I think it is somehow a bad connection or a damaged cable, because it does not work once you have disassembled the screen.
Maybe you need to check all the cables, leading motherboard to the LCD and take a close look, maybe for a few scratches or strong curvature.

  • Bad monitor or LCD screen cable on Qosmio X 505?

Looking for a little help to solve my problem.

About six months ago my web cam log if I moved the monitor back or front. A month or two later the monitor should fade a bit. I have to move the monitor to restore its brightness. The monitor will now completely black if moved. I have to close it and open the lid (monitor) completely so that he could appear at the back and it still does not work the first time... I am running an external monitor via HDMI to avoid the problem... I really need to this address.

This sounds like a cable of the LCD screen or a monitor problem? Looking at what part to replace everything first.

    Thank you for your time.

You know very well that this virtual path no one can say with certainty what the problem and this question must be verified correctly.
I put t know why you don t tell us what model of laptop you have.

Anyway, if you have the new Qosmio notebook with valid warranty I recommend to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and let them solve this problem. Warranty will cover all costs.
