Re: Satellite M300 - should I replace a damaged LCD screen?

My LCD screen is damaged and almost impossible to use. The laptop is still under warranty, but I understand screen damage are not covered. I don't know even how it happened. I'm not aware of any bump or impact to the unit.

It is better to spend the money to replace the screen or it would be cheaper to buy a new computer? It is a spare computer that is only used if I am away from giant, holidays, at hospital etc.

That the cost would be about, in Australian dollars?

Thank you
warrawillah

Hi warrawillah,

I think that it of difficult to tell if you need to replace the screen or buy a new computer. In my opinion it s based on the price of the new view.

You need to contact a service provider authorized in your country. Guys can order all spare parts and if you want to replace it also.

Good luck!!!

I am the owner of a SATELLITE U200 and I would use it with an external LCD display.

The external monitor supports up to 1920x1080@64Hz.

When I select the 1920x1080@64Hz option in the properties of the screen, I get an image enlarged and out of range of the scale. However, by selecting 1400x1050@60Hz seems to work very well.

It s nice that your monitor supports the screen resolution 1920 x 1080, but you should check your owner's manual.

On page B-4, you will find a list of the supported screen resolution and I must say that the resolution 1920 x 1080 is not taken in charge.
    You can select 1920 x 1440 but not 1920 x 1080.

Sorry, but the material doesn't supports his screen resolution.

  • Re: Satellite A100 - cannot get video off the LCD screen

Hi, I'm fixing a Satellite A100 for someone. I can't get the video on the LCD display, an external monitor, either the s-video port.
The system turns on and you hear the fans from the looks of the lights, the HDD seems to start windows.
I reinstalled the two RAM modules and tried to use the FN + F5, but no luck.

Is there a common problem with these machines?

    Thanks in advance.

    > Y at - it a common problem with these machines?
Sorry but I don't understand this question. I have 3 years old A100 (PSAA9E) and it works perfectly. If keyboard suddenly stop to answer should I think it may be a common problem with this model of laptop?

Back to your problem: FN + F5 will work if the operating system is fully loaded. You hear sounds? You don't see anything on the screen?
    Experiment with RGB port also.

  • Satellite Pro U300: Low resolution on external LCD screen and a station

I've got Satellite Pro U300 and LCD HP1907v and PA3542E-2PRP - docking station.

When I connect external LCD for laptop - resolution is OK (1440 x 900). But when I connect the external LCD display in a docking station - the resolution is lower(), I can't change it, and I don't have some display options under Fn + F5 (that I had when I passed this lcd directly to the laptop).

Help me find a solution, please!

Yes. Latest Dynadock software must be installed.
I checked the hardware specifications of the dynadock with DVI-d port and DVI supports a maximum external resolution UXGA (1,600 x 1,200) 24-bit.

  • Satellite Pro U300 - the broken LCD screen

    Hi all

My first post please bare with me.

I have a Satellite Pro U300, who has a broken LCD screen.
I have a replacement screen, but not sure how to go abouts it change places.

Someone at - it a service manual for this model or the tricks and tips on how to disassemble the unit to swap the LCD broke with a new one?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The service manual can be downloaded. It s not for the public and it s only for Toshiba and approved providers available I think.
On the Toshiba site, you can download the user manual, but I doubt it would be useful for you.

I think the best way would be if you go to an authorized service provider. The exchange of the LCD is a little tricky and you should have experience with this.
On the Toshiba site, you can search for an ASP. I m sure that the technicians will help you. ;)

  • Satellite A200-1DY - file iastor.sys damaged when installing XP

    Hello Toshiba users.

I bought a Satellite A200-1DY and I want to install Windows XP 32-bit. I used nLite to integrate controllers Manager storage, but when I boot the CD of Windows XP sudenlly it says that its corrupt iastor.sys (damaged in Spanish).

I wonder if its because only the file storage manager has two options the ICH7M and ICH8M and I don't know which to incorporate (I joined the ICH7M) or maybe the Windows XP that I use is the problem, but I tried diferent ones. Should I replace the file iastor.sys in the CD with the one I downloaded from the Toshibas Web page? If this is the case, where can I find this file on a Windows XP CD, I mean what dir?

If I'm not good as I say again once the problem is that the file iastor.sys is corrupted and it won't let me format my c drive to install Windows XP. Hope you can help me please, I would be very happy I'll be cheking the forum every day for today

    cyaa

    Hey Buddy,

Satellite A200-1DY is equipped with Intel ICH8M chipset so I think that s the problem because you only integrated drivers SATA ICH7M

You should try to create the disc using nLite and then include only files ICH8M.

You can download the Intel Storage Manager driver on the official website of Toshiba. It contains the correct and pre-tested driver for your model of laptop.

    > Glad to get card later if he will enter the zone, just need to know in advance how the thing is put together. Assume that it is a PCI express bus?

The wireless network card is a miniPCI module and can be removed. It should be placed at the bottom, near the memory modules

  • Satellite M40-136: network card is damage

    Hello

I have a satellite M40-136, which is a little more than 2 years. I have cable broadband installed and this had led me to discover that I have a problem with my network card (a Marvell Yukon map I think).

I had guys on the network at work to check the laptop and they say either the network adapter connection is loose or the card is damaged.
I rang one of their guys said tech that I need a new main board because the network cards are integrated on all laptops and PC WORLD.

Is this correct? If it is then it will cost an arm and a leg to fix it.

    Nicky

    Well, that's good.
Map of LAN (RJ45) is soldered on the motherboard.
Perhaps an independent technician with experience might be able to solve this problem, but in general, the motherboard should be replaced.

The motherboard is one of the expensive parts and you are right; the new Council is costing a fortune

I tried to restore in 4 different points in January, but each time, he said, that he cannot do?

have not hit this one before
    any suggestions welcome

    Thank you
    Keith

In my opinion you have no other options.
Something seems to be wrong with the restore points created in the past
Looks like you'll need solve the problem of USB printer in the other direction.

First of all, I recommend you to clean the system using CCLeaner or other freeware software but CCleaner is one of the best and free.
Then I recommend you to uninstall the installed printer software.
You can repeat the cleanup using CCleaner to remove all traces of the software of the printer.
    Reboot several times.
Then, you could install more printing software you can also consult different USB ports if it should not work

  • Satellite M300 PSMDCA takes a long time to start

I have a Toshiba Satellite M300 PSMDCA - 01800C and there are some problems with it.

First of all, when you start the computer, it takes a long time to start and activate Outlook.
I am running Windows 7Home Premium.
Computers arrow where I bought the computer told me that it can take up to three hours to go back through each process at startup?

Is it normal that all I wanted was a simple portable easy fast, but it seems that I am stuck again.

Also, when I go back to the computer, even after some time the mouse it does not provide new and pushing the Start button just a blank screen. Alt + Ctrl + delete, then he activates Windows again and then after having put my password and I have to wait for that be again loaded everything that takes so long. Any ideas?

Also I often get the message when the computer starts "error has occurred in Toshiba PC Health Monitor. He will leave the application. "Main.frm.cpp (184). Any ideas?

Quite often when I am scrolling with the mouse, the screen will turn black and flash and a message «the NVIDIA display driver... couldn't Reg...» "and he will correct itself after awhile. Frustrating!
Quite often when scrolling on the websites of the page I'm going to freeze?

I use MS Office 2010 and there is a problem trying to save Word documents and a message comes up with "a file permission error.

    Any thoughts? Thanks, Shirl51

    > First of all, when you start the computer, it takes a long time to start and activate Outlook. I am running Windows 7Home Premium. Computers arrow where I bought the computer told me that it can take up to three hours to go back through each process at startup?

    This nonsense!
The system should boot up quickly my laptop needs 30 seconds to start.
In my opinion, the system is screwed

In your case, I recommend to reinstall the system.
Did you create the recovery disk?
If this isn't the case, I think that detailed instructions should be placed in the user's manual.

After the recovery of disk has been created, restore the system, BUT save the data before doing so because the recovery disk would be to format the HARD drive and you lose data!

  • Satellite M300 - screen flashes white

Toshiba Satellite M300 on 18 months old (using Windows 7). Display has had intermittent problems. Screen flashes to a white screen. Now if the lid is moved while he was working, "white" screen completely and returns to normal when returned to 'the sweet spot '!

Have not yet tried another monitor. Driver is up-to-date. Assuming that maybe it's a "bad connection". Use turned off with the closure of the lid that changed tonight.

    Any ideas? :)

    Hi KezRev,

Theoretically, it could be a problem of connecting cable or internal problem display but you should test another monitor first. Just connect an external monitor to check the image here.

If the external monitor works properly it s the LCD cable internal or visualize a malfunction. So, contact a service provider and allow technicians to check your laptop. They can fix this problem and order new parts. :)

  • Satellite L850 - how to replace a HARD disk recovery partition?

    Hello.

Toshiba laptop Satellite L850. PSKDGA-02Y012. The original HARD drive has failed in his colleagues even mobile, so we replaced the two HARD drive after you have created a recovery USB. When used to restore the operating system to original status of OOB.
That has worked and portable runs much, but now I want to BACK the recovery partition (now only on the USB I think) for the new HARD drive.

Simple to shrink the disk HARD C: (partition 2) on the HARD disk, but then how to transfer twhats on the USB (USB recovery stick) back on the HARD drive?

    Thanks for any help.

    Karim...

    Hello karim

When you buy the notebook you will get it with preinstalled operating system (recovery image). Original recovery image is saved on the HARD disk on the recovery partition.
Each owner of the laptop has option to make the backup recovery image and create recovery media. It could be the DVD or USB support. You can do this by using preinstalled Toshiba recovery media creator tool.
This tool will create bootable recovery media that can be used for the installation of original image recovery if there is problem with the installation of image disk HARD recovery or when the drive is defective and must be replaced.

Where the HARD drive is faulty and should be replaced or the owner of the laptop to upgrade HARD drive, you can install original image created using recovery recovery media (USB). After installing recovery image, you will have the same situation as for the first boot after the purchase of the laptop. With other words notebook will have factory settings again.

In this case original recovery image is already copied onto the new HARD drive and you will also be able to start the installation of HARD drive recovery. There is therefore no reason to copy a recovery on HARD drive media.
Please note: installation of HARD drive recovery works with the factory only settings.

If you have any other questions do not hesitate to ask.

    Good luck.

  • Satellite M300 guarantee for a power adapter broken?

I have some problems with getting a new power adapter.

First of all, I don't know if the warranty covers the power supply.

Second, even if it does, the warranty (I bought a Toshiba Satellite M300, which came with a 1 year warranty, about 360 days ago) may expire before I can get the card sent to a Service Center for repair of toshiba in Victoria (I live in Tasmania.

Thirdly, I tried to call until the call line of Toshiba which was given to me by the store, I bought the laptop, but after having pierced the numbers to get a representative human (and I tried several combinations) I had absolute silence from the other end of the phone, so I can't get all the answers to all your questions and I have no idea where to send the broken adapter.

So wherever I need to send my adapter, it can be sent at the time, I will be actually return a new power adapter and is there anything else I should do to get it?

    Hello

    First of all:
Yes, the power adapter is covered by warranty (if the warranty is valid) as the entire notebook

    Second:
The standard warranty is one year. So if your warranty is still valid you should get in touch with a local ASP (certified partner) in your country and have to ask for help.
The right ASP can be found [here: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/generic/ASP_SUPPORT]

    Third:
See point 2, you must contact a local ASP.

    Welcome them
