HP dx2400 boot freeze

Hi all

I have a problem with my HP dx2400.

After I turn it on it gets stuck with the blue screen to choose the method of priming (ESC boot menu, F10 setup, F12 boot to lan, the System Diagnostics F9 and F11 recovery).

No beeps, fans operate normal...

If I remove the RAM, it will beep, like he's supposed to beep

I removed the bios battery and then I put it in and I get the same blue hp invent screen...

Any tips? Help, please

No, it still does not...

Anyway thanks for your time, I will probably buy a new motherboard...

The steps you have taken to solve the problem would lead me to believe that the motherboard no longer works correctly.

You observe a code flashes when you press the power button? a flashing red button would indicate systemboard failure.

    On-screen error messages?

You can try to recover the BIOS. Follow the procedures on this document from HP web compared to the version of the BIOS that has your PC. In case of recovery of the BIOS, then all should be well. If this isn't the case, then it is time to get a replacement PC. You can recover data from a hard drive on the computer when you install in another PC under Windows.

  • Peut only the boot without failure; A regular boot freezes on the 'Welcome' screen and fades to black

I use an ASUS laptop and everything was smooth until yesterday earlier.  I tried to start in class and it took a little longer (stopping at the 'Welcome' screen) but I'm starting up normal and thought nothing of him.  I'm going to the House an hour later and try to start and I can just connect to Windows 7 unless I Boot safe with networking.

I have no idea how to fix this, I have no CD, I have no Windows CD that's at my parents (and anyway was a CD to upgrade), I spent 5 hours essentially pulling my hair out try everything last night and this morning still will not work.  I am now in safe mode.

I would like to know all the details you guys need and how to get them and I'll probably get them to you immediately because I really need my computer today.  Thank you

  • Pavilion a6542 - no boot, freeze on blue HP Invent screen

I need help... My Pavilion a6542 does not start. It gets stuck on the blue HP Invent screen. The Bios menu is not accessible (F9, F10, F11 keys don't work), even if the keyboard lights are turned on.

    Features:

It was working fine yesterday, and it does not work anymore. I did not any recent installation or HW SW.

The PC is only 2 years old.

    Motherboard is Asus IPIBL-LB (Benicia).

I took the steps - following troubleshooting unsuccessfully:

    I tried another keyboard.

I tried to boot from a bootable CD (I tried Fedora Live CD and Ultimate Boot CD), but it does not start.

I reinstalled the cables on the motherboard, I reinstalled 4 memory cards, I reinstalled the HARD drive connectors.

There is no dust or burned capacitors on the motherboard.

==> Someone can help me diagnose the problem and find the solution? Thank you!

I could see that your troubleshooting resulted in a conclusion that your HARD drive is defective, which confirmed my suspicions.

You can replace your HARD drive and try to enjoy many services for Hard Drive Data Recovery. First try the manufacturer

    of your HARD drive.

    Hello:

I can't find any concrete info, but according to the age of the chipset in your PC, I would say it is not newer than the PCIe x 16 v1.0a.

    http://techreport.com/review/7588/ATI-Radeon-Xpress-200-chipset

    https://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express

The Radeon HD5670 is a PCIe x 16 revision v2.1 map, and most of the time that they will not work on a PC with a PCIe x 1 connector. 0 to slot unless there is an update of the BIOS available for your model, which adds support for PCIe x 2.1.

IMO, you should be able to use a graphics card with a specification file PCIe x 16 v2.0 or more, provided that it works in power supply specifications.

My conclusion: HP BIOS/USB controller isn't working okey with WD My Book when you start the computer. If you wait about 3-4 minutes, to return to the boot. If you re-create the partition in Windows 7, you might be able to speed up the process. I have converted the MBR to GPT (Google more) and reformatted it NTFS. Reducing a starter and holds a GPT formatted, cannot be a boot disk. Now, there are about 1 min delay. If there is a switch to turn off USB Legacy support, that could help. There is not, thanks to the crappy BIOS HP. You can also seek support from Western Digital and discover interesting things.

Then, finally, it'll pass the boot.

One alternative is to reinstall windows 7 with discs or install windows 10 as an alternative.

    Hello @zoboomafoo,

Thank you for all the information!

What have been the results of physical tests?  If all the past, then it seems that you encounter problems with the operating system.  If the problem is actually related to the operating system, then by reinstalling Windows will help you solve it.  This should help to address issues with malware.  Upgrade to Windows 10 is an option, however, you don't have full support of drivers.  I hope this helps.

    Kind regards!

  • Satellite L20 260 won't boot to the top, every time it freezes with no reason

    Hi all

I have a problem with my satellite of sad, after 3-4 days I installed a new operating system (tried with XP SP2 and Kubuntu) system does not boot to the top, every time it freezes with no reason, the only way is to perferom a new installation of the OS. What is a hardware problem, perhaps related to the RAM or HARD drive?
    x 10, Daniele.

    Hello

It's not easy to tell if the problem is software or hardware related.
You must install the OS from the Toshiba Recovery CD and again test the functionality

If the laptop won't boot again freezes immediately after that installation of recovery CD, and then it could be a hardware problem.
You can try using MemTest 3.5 tool.
It checks the memory of a malfunction.

  • PC laptop Pavilion 15: freezing boot screen after installing Visual Studio 2015

    Hi all

I have a problem on my laptop which is the startup screen freezing after installing Hyper-V on Windows Pro 8.1. Actully I need because it is used by Visual Studio 2015 do Andriod device emulator work

After a search internet I found that this problem is caused by the driver Ralink Bluetooth and common

I'm also thinking that I can boot windows successfully when I disable virtualization BIOS, so I logged on windows and I have tried a few solutions

    1. Disable Bluetooth device-> does not

2 - Install the latest Ralink driver-> does not

    3. Remove VEN_1814 & DEV_3298 & SUBSYS_18EC103C & REV_00-> work but the returned key after that restart so I have to delete this key, everytime I open windows, and more that's a problem with virtual switches on Hyper-V

    Any solution permanent please?

    Hello

Which driver Ralink, have you tried?

I discovered Mediatek drivers which are no longer updated.

Not sure if that helps in your case with Visual Studio.

  • Vista is sometimes freezing at boot time

A few weeks ago, I installed some new updates (as well as service pack 2, came to them who I was little surprised, but I went with it). in any case, after the updates installed, I realized that my computer work slower for some reason any. In addition, my computer freezes usually to where I need to stop and restart manually. From time to time, I can start the computer and have no problem, other times, I might have to go through about 3 or 4 manual restarts.

Tired of it, I decided I'd do a system recovery. He crossed successfully, and everything worked well. I got the drivers, I needed for my other devices and thought I'd be back again to day. Once I did, I rebooted my computer to apply the updates, signed, and less than 30 seconds of activity, I froze again.

I guess that it is a mistake to update at this point. Help?

    Hi M3lch10r,

    Welcome to Microsoft Windows Forums!

    METHOD 1

Try to put your computer in clean boot mode and check if the problem persists. To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts. This article describes how to solve problems in Windows Vista or Windows 7 by performing a clean boot.

Steps to put your computer in a clean boot:

    1. click on Start
    2. type msconfig in the Search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click continue.

    1. in the general tab, click Selective startup.
    2. under Selective startup, clear the Load Startup items check box.
    3. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click disable all.
    4. click on OK.
    5. When you are prompted, click restart.
    6. restart the computer two times
    7. see if you are able to boot without any problems.

How to perform a clean boot procedure to determine if background programs are interfering with a game or a program that you currently use
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/331796

NOTE: TURN ON YOUR COMPUTER TO A NORMAL STARTUP AFTER TRYING THE STEPS ABOVE.

Click Start, in the search box to start, type msconfig and press ENTER.
Select Normal startup, and then press apply and OK

    METHOD 2

After having tried the above method, you can also try any step from the link below to increase your computer's performance.

  • Acer Travelmate 7750 G freezes completely using Windows or Linux (dual boot). Need help please.

The problem is that the machine freezes completely without apparent reason, on all operating systems, I tried.  "Freezes", I mean there is no reaction to the mouse movements, keyboard presses and start button / stop pressed off the coast.  The gel seems to be at a random time and may occur even when the system is idle.

The Acer Travelmate 7750 G laptop came pre-installed with Windows 7 and it kept freezing.  The machine has been updated level of Windows 8, 8.1, 10, then dual boot with Linux Mint 17.3.  The machine froze on all operating systems.  I have tested software hard drive, memory, CPU, GPU and they all managed very well.  Is it someone who has knowledge about how to resolve or others troubleshoot this please?

RESOLVED - I installed a HDD replacement in December 2015 and the laptop Travelmate 7750 G works perfectly since.  Cost me almost nothing compared to the price of the laptop.  No freezing, crashing or anything else!
