Pavilion a6542 - no boot, freeze on blue HP Invent screen

I need help... My Pavilion a6542 does not start. It gets stuck on the blue HP Invent screen. The Bios menu is not accessible (F9, F10, F11 keys don't work), even if the keyboard lights are turned on.

Features:

It was working fine yesterday, and it does not work anymore. I did not any recent installation or HW SW.

The PC is only 2 years old.

Motherboard is Asus IPIBL-LB (Benicia).

I took the steps - following troubleshooting unsuccessfully:

I tried another keyboard.

I tried to boot from a bootable CD (I tried Fedora Live CD and Ultimate Boot CD), but it does not start.

I reinstalled the cables on the motherboard, I reinstalled 4 memory cards, I reinstalled the HARD drive connectors.

There is no dust or burned capacitors on the motherboard.

==> Someone can help me diagnose the problem and find the solution? Thank you!

I could see that your troubleshooting resulted in a conclusion that your HARD drive is defective, which confirmed my suspicions.

You can replace your HARD drive and try to enjoy many services for Hard Drive Data Recovery. First try the manufacturer

of your HARD drive.

Invent the screen. I took the sides off the computer. I started and I realized what was the noise that I heard and whence he came. It's the hard drive makes a noise like a fan starting then a rattling noise. Then it stop trying to load and is repeated several times, then closes. I unplugged the power supply for the drive hard drive now it
take care when I unplug it but I can't do anything without hard drive.

Your hard drive has failed. If you are still in warranty, contact HP to send a new hard drive. If you are out of warranty, it will be much cheaper to buy a retail hard drive to replace the original. Hope you have a value recovery disk?

  • Stuck on blue HP Invent screen and not loading Windows not items on the desktop after you done a system recovery

Hello, this is my first time posting here, because I'm in desperate mode!  I have a HP Pavilion Slimline s5304y using Windows 7, desktop pc that I bought in February 2010.

After getting a virus on my computer, I ordered system of HP recovery disks, and made to factory settings recovery process (twice!), however, during the Windows install process, it never cross the blue HP Invent screen that says:

-Do not turn off your PC during this unique installation process

-Your PC will restart several times during the installation process

-Messages may appear on your screen. Ignore these messages until you are prompted to restart or shut down your PC

To the bottom of the screen, it keeps saying "Please wait...". "with a green scroll bar. What I see is the buttom to start at the bottom left corner but I am not able to access anything whatsoever and I never get my desktop screen or the desktop icons. I restarted and closed several times, and as soon as I log on windows, I just get the same blue screen.

The 2nd time I did the recovery process, I let him continue overnight (just in case I was not waiting long enough) and my computer never stop as it was supposed to when the installation is complete.  In addition, the whole process, I looked the first time around and my computer never restarted as he said he was supposed to; It seems to just be stuck for the rest of the installation procedure for windows.  There finally comes to switch to "standby" mode.

I have nothing plugged on the other except the power cord, monitor, and keyboard/mouse.  I have not installed new hardware since I bought the computer.

I did a test of diagnosis and everything going on.

I tried to get help from HP Support, but because I am out of the warranty period, they cannot help me and want to charge me $99!

I don't know what else to do at this point. Can someone please?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Assuming that maybe that's a problem with the recovery discs, it is a simple work-around if you have (or can borrow) an installation disc Windows 7 at retail which is exactly the same version as your OEM installation - IE if your PC comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, it comes to the exact retail version that you would need.

If you do not access to the retail drives, you can create an installation disk yourself - just download good picture disc from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    http://www.mydigitallife.info/Download-Windows-7-ISO-official-32-bit-and-64-bit-direct-download-link...

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the sticker COST on your PC on demand, and when the installation is complete, use the 'method of phone", described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system - this method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want just a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally delivered with OEM installations.

  • HP pavilion a1547c: disk boot failure! Appears on the screen

How can I reboot my hp pavilion diskless desktop computer

The message means that the hard drive has failed.  An answer to the question "did I can restart my desktop hp pavilion diskless computer"-No.  Is there not a drive then there is nothing to make the computer.  If the hard drive has failed, then it needs to be replaced and use the recovery media for the computer or use something else, either.  If you do not have the recovery media set, it can be purchaseHERE or you can use a Linux OS for use of a temporary or permanent basis.

OR buy another OS such as Windows 7.

    Hi PCUserPro,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft community!

Did you make any changes before the show?

What is the model number of the computer?

Perform a clean boot and check.

Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

If it works, fine, safe mode, start your computer in a clean boot State to eliminate conflicts of third party software and check if the problem persists.

Resolve stop (blue screen) error in Windows 7

  • Adding RAM causes freeze or blue screen. RAM works well with Win XP

I upgraded from Win XP to Win 7.  I had problems with the installation so I removed all non-essential equipment and was able to complete the installation.  When I add more RAM, I had emoved (two DIMMs of 512 MB) to the current 1 GB DIMM, Win 7 either freezes or I get a blue screen after boot up (it does not boot up to the desktop computer).  Even RAM works very well with my old XP OS (I did a disk clone before moving to Win 7).  The card motherboard BIOS is up to date (according to eSupport) and DIMMs are the same characteristics (a 1 GB DIMM and two 512 MB DIMMS for a total of 2 GB).  Windows 7 works very well with just the 1 GB DIMM in memory 1 of 3 location, but any combination of causes freeze or blue screen.  Is there something on the way Windows 7 manages RAM which is causing the problem?  If so, is there something I can do to solve the problem?

try running Memtest86 +, which runs from a floppy disk or CD and should eliminate or
confirm whether your one or more of your sticks of memory are bad or the values of the SPD in the BIOS are correct.
Let it run for as long as you can: 2,4,6,8 or several hours, so no errors at that time then your ram is OK.

If my phone is freezing for days after BSOD. When I leave my laptop at night to download torrents, I always get the message "Windows has recovered from stop unexpected." when I woke up.

I already disabled all non microsoft services, startup items and yet the office is always freezing just after the Welcome screen, but the Welcome screen does not load too long.

The freezing of funds of more than one minute, and then it will return to normal again until my laptop went to BSOD
and received this error of UEFI "Disk hard error" after restart.

I ran the Diagnostic Test of equipment and got the result:

    Failure ID: RW042K-6MT6RP-MFPX1F-61BK03

I tried registry cleanup and defragment the disk and still no luck.

Here's one that I would recommend:

  • HP Pavilion p6-2069sc: computer hangs during the HP splash screen

    Hello.

I plug an ASUS GeForce GTX STRIX 750Ti to use in my Pavilion P6 - 2069sc, but when I start the computer after installing my GPU, the screen hangs on the blue HP startup screen.

When I try to hit the ESC key to enter the BIOS or any other keys it comes just a beep of the machine.

It is a long beep every 20 seconds or so from the computer.

When I use the integrated graphics card, everything works as they should.

I already upgraded to 550W 300W POWER supply

Because your computer has been manufacturer Sept 2011, there Legacy BIOS.  The latest vBIOS UEFI was initiated at the HP units at end of 2012.  That said, either you stay with a Legacy BIOS GPU card, or choose a dual hybrid card BIOS.  The GTX 660, or GTX 670, all of which are two high-end of the legacy card would be far superior to the GTX 750Ti.   All the current hype is looking for a lower quality card, the 750Ti, based on the more low power and some GTX offering a BIOS hybrid via Select manufacturer. The Asus could not be hybrids, as you can testify.

Based on your existing new POWER Pack, (hopefully a quality unit), 660 GTX would be good.  In my humble OPINION, an EVGA GTX 660 is better based on your power supply of the system. Please call EVGA for re - check a Legacy BIOS.

PS I have a EVGA GTX 660 and 670 in my BIOS Legacy of <>towers.  I tried an ASUS, but he did not have an ASUS motherboard. Strange, but ASUS check the fault has his own card. Cost me $50 return shipping cost, so Please check with any manufcacturer.
