  I'm having all sorts of problems trying to do a reinstall my hp pavilion elite hpe-570f system. I'm trying to use the recovery partition. I can get to options and don't start the process, no problem. He has even reformat the hard drive. The problem arises when relocation of the factory software.   Given that it was me that pisses off the coast, I purchased a retail version of windows 7 unlimited and tried. The same problem.   1.) had password on boot enabled.

  2.) on the startup, received message to enter the startup password ('enter the password administrator or power on password')

  3.) took 3 tries (keyboard not responding does not correctly) to type the 8 digits of start

  4.) when I typed in password on startup, I get the message "SYSTEM DISABLED 69112228.

  Now. . (a few days later) when I start the laptop, I get say message blue screen:

  'Enter password administrator or power on password' - but now the keyboard does not allow me to enter the password in the startup.

  Can anyone help please?

  The only solution is to remove the CMOS/RTC of the device battery and wait 15mintues then reinsert on and check. Link given below for reference check 46 Chapter 4 removal and replacement procedures
