HP EliteBook 1 850 pointing Stick

I'm trying to figure out how to turn off the device pointing and related top row of buttons above the touch pad click.  They are typing without accidentally selecting and clicking on the thing, a pain in the thigh.  I've searched and searched and found nothing.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Tecra A2 - not do AccuPoint pointing stick work in this model?

I spilled some water on my keyboard and it has stopped working, I took apart to get out the liquid, but it would not clip back together afterwards so I inserted a keyboard in Tecra S1, that I had to spare in its place. The keyboard is identical to the A2 keyboard in every sense, except that it also has a score/trackpoint stick.

Is it possible to get the working in my A2 pointing device? The entire keyboard works as it should if it would be a great turn on the pointing device too.

    Hi banjaxt,

These two keyboard references are identical? Did you check that?

I m not sure, but as far as I know the score of the stick has an extra cable, right? You have connected the cable correctly?
In the worst cases, the cable connector is damaged due to the water

  • Why does my mouse pointer stick momentarily?

Whenever I'm on my computer and move my pointer from one place to another (read my emails or play a game online for example) most of the time my pointer moves correctly but about every 10 or 15 seconds when I'm going to move it, it freezes for about a 1/2 second. It's just annoying and sometimes screws to the top of my game, I'm in. It is an optical mouse (reducer) and plugged into a USB port. It has something to do with the refreash rate?

Have you tried using another surface (for the mouse) to see if that makes a difference?

    In addition, you can try...

    * Plug the mouse into a different USB port
cleaning of the optical probe with a q-tip
    using a different mouse

  • EliteBook 850 2: Elitebook 2 850 - how to get external monitor to the refresh rate of 60 Hz?

I got Philips information on it.  There are two parts to the solution.

First of all, the default monitor DisplayPort 1.1 out of the box, that does not support the 60 Hz in 4 K resolution.

In menu - select Setup - Select Display screen Port - select 1.2.

This will cause windows to 'freak out' and the two views to Flash and the.  I had to unplug the external monitor for checking back on the laptop screen.

Then restart the computer and reconnect the DisplayPort monitor

You will then see that 60 Hz became available on the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel.  However, you cannot set it there - the monitor will just blink on and off for a few minutes and return to 30 Hz.

    Instead:

-Right click on the desktop, and then select display settings
    -Click Advanced display settings
    -Click on properties display adapter
-Click the all channels list and scroll to the 60 hz option and apply it.

You get the dialog box 'confirm the display settings', and then it will be clocked at 60 Hz.

  • X100e point drivers stick - horrible

What happened to the great driver for the X 40 point stick? I've had my X100e for about 2 weeks now and this new driver is worse than horrible. It doesn't work in some programs (FireFox) and does not scroll in any windows operating system, it acts like a single click.

Specifically, I went with an another Lenovo/IBM because I liked the stick point of my X 40.

And where are the settings to disable the touchpad? I read in the BIOS, but there is no setting it for her.

    All keys to touch suck.

Looks like you have the generic driver from Microsoft installed. Just install the driver on the Lenovo Web site. Simple solution.

    Hi all

Has taught I'll let you know that I found the solution to my problem, it was a problem to do with the equipment in particular the keyboard a keyboard of spare lying around which I taught I'll swap out and it worked right as close as possible to the keyboard worked everything suddenly I restarted several times to confirm and is until it worked.i also wanted to do further investigation to see what part of the keyboard did not work because it has two cables Ribbon one for the point stick and one for the real keybaord.i unplugged the cable Ribbon key point and just left the ribbon cable to the keyboard in the machine and both right-click and left-click now was not working so I decided to pass cable point Ribbon stick from the work at a keyboard was not working and plugged the keyboard original back and all the buttons worked even the right so guilty was the Ribbon for the point stick cable.

    Thank you

Hi, can someone help me to disable the button located between the G and B the keyboard permanently?  Whenever I type I managed somehow to bump this button and send somewhere my cursor to the top or the bottom of the page...

Thank you for your help in advance

    Hi Planner,

Welcome to the community. Please add your system model and operating system when you post on the community. To disable the track stick, click Start, Control Panel, mouse, wait for the Dell touchpad image to appear and click on the picture of the touchpad, click option pointing stick or device selection, you should have an option to disable it.

Record: same as D9Y32UT (two displayports)

    Compatibility: same as D9Y32UT

Summary: the above four products, one (B9C87AA) is supposed to be compatible with the EliteBook Folio 1040 G1.

Click on the tab "Accessories, supplies & Services.
Click on 'docking station and port replicator.

It is important to realize that the Web page of G1 EliteBook Folio 1040 points to ALL the following as "approved" Accessories for this computer.

    1 UltraSlim HP docking station
    B9C87AA, $199

Record: does NOT say how displayports there.

But the list under "Supplies & accessories" does NOT say that it is compatible.

    -----

You are looking for under the heading supplies & accessories, it shows four products and says it is compatible.

Examining the E.B. Folio 1040 G1 list of approved accessories, it shows that three products but said that all are compatible.

Then there is the important question the products indicated as 'approved' do not show displayports how much they have.

You could take the cautious approach and say you want to buy the product that is on BOTH lists - B9C87AA - even if 1) there are apparently only a single displayport and 2) it is the highest price of the four products.  Is this not a great combination, less for more!

But if you really, really want to be absolutely sure that you get the good docking station for your laptop computer of two thousand dollars, maybe grit you your teeth and do it anyway.

When you go to the B9C87AA Web page

For your information on the laptop, the Antivirus is installed and updated: AVIRA and Spybot

What I tried to solve the problem:
    (1) I downloaded and installed the latest version of the pointer ALPS driver device that even so the same version was already installed. No result, same behavior
    (2) I tried with an external USB mouse, disable touchpad/pointing stick. No result, same behavior

    Suggestions, please?
    Thanks in advance

Maybe you can try to start with a Live CD/USB. If this problem occurs also with the OS Live the question is related to laptop. If not, it s a Windows problem and perhaps a recovery would solve the problem.

  • Satellite L305D - Touchpad does not work after installing Windows 7

I had recently installed Windows7 32 Bit there is almost a week on my Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5934, and now the tablet to the PC no longer works.

I was reduced to using an optical mouse on my computer. I've updated all my drivers and firmware etc on the windows update software and still I have not been unable to get the touchpad working. Windows 7 had installed the driver of synaptic for the touchpad pointing stick, but im guessing that he needs a special Tosiba firmware to recognize the touchpad for this model. What should I do to get the touchpad working again?

Here are the specs of my model:

    PC x 86 ACPI
    64-bit AMD Turion X 2 processor
    ATI Radeon 3100 graphics card
    Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad

I installed Windows 7 on my Satellite Pro P300 and touchpad works properly. The OS is naked and I didn't install any additional touchpad driver.

    1. Disable the touchpad and mouse, like all devices keyboard-inserted (pointer stick and buttons.)  Maybe one of these methods work for you?
      http://support.Dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/KCS/document?docid=424135
    2. Connect a USB mouse.
    3. Use USB mouse exclusively for a day or two...
    4. Problems still?

Most of the time this problem is easily explained and tested by something like the above.  A replacement test must cover the touchpad with something thick enough to prevent it being used as you type.  It takes nothing to activate these keys to touch and some people are more likely to do so (as others are actually less likely to do so).  I haven't looked into why - but given their operation, it might have to do with static electricity and tastes.

You'd be surprised how many times this is neglected.  I know you want to be something simple like the one you've apparently spent much too much money so he can be something that ridiculously simplistic - but...  Try it.  You have nothing to loose (certainly less money you already have)?

  • Envy Touchsmart 15-j040us: trying to upgrade my Touchsmart 15 keyboard

I would put the keyboard on my laptop to a backlit keyboard. I have an envy Touchsmart 15-j040us; a HP technician told me that the motherboard is C8N73AV, based on the serial number of my laptop. I currently have keyboard 720242-001 (not backlit) and it seems that 720244-001 is the correct keyboard for the backlight.

My question is my motherboard has the correct port to connect the backlight ribbon cable or not. I want to assure you that my motherboard will support the upgrade before the tear in my laptop just to find that it will not support the upgrade...

    Thanks for any help!

Your laptop has the pointer stick keyboard? I searched the manual and there is no different motherboard only so that the keyboard model so, the assumption is that all motherboards have the plugin for the backlight cable. The problem is that the process to remove and fix the backlight cable is not documented in the manual. Removal and replacement of the keyboard also appears to require complete disassembly, including removal of the motherboard.

    Manual

See p. 95. Sorry I can't be more definitive but I would say as my best guess that all motherboards have the connection for the backlight cable.
