    Hello.

For the moment, I use memory 2 x 2 GB strips with my elite book but want to switch to 2 x 4 GB.

I know that my laptop is supported (only) PC3-10600 / memory at 1333 MHz, but I wonder if I still can't use more quick PC3-12800 / 1600 modules MHz but only gain rate supported, or is it takes exactly PC3-10600 / 1333 MHz modules?

I can change some values in the BIOS if it recognizes the fastest memory modules but works at the speed of support or should I rather get the 'right' modules and forget them faster?

    Hello

I would get a few modules of 1333 MHz (recommend Corsair). We cannot change everything related to memory in the BIOS.

  • Slot of RAM missing in EliteBook 8540p

I need help to understand if I have been cheated.

In my case, I have 4 GB installed in my EliteBook 8540p and it is only on the memory module connector.

Recently, I planned to upgrade to 8 GB and that I have to install both modules to 4 GB (a location is limited to 4 GB) but I do not have a physical location.

In the specification of the 8540 is written that there must be two or SODIMM four slots support dual channel memory.

In my EliteBook 8540p there is one.

    Is there a solution?

The module slot and soDimm primary memory is located under the keyboard. You have found the location of memory expansion module.

You will need the Service & maintenance guide to use as a reference.

I have the HP document that shows both modules of memory of 4 GB, it takes in the memory slot 1 and the other in the memory slot 3 for the proper functioning of the memory double channel.  All together right?

Not quite.  In the Elitebook 8540w, primary under the keyboard memory locations are clearly labelled '1' and '2' However, the locations of memory expansion on the underside of the chassis are also clearly labelled Opps '1' and '2 '!  There is no '3' and there is no '4' in which three vacant slots we installed the second module of 4 GB for the proper functioning of the dual memory channel?

All the facts on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

  • Add memory to my desktop PC

I have a Compac Presario desktop PC 6331rsh and need to add memory. I know that there are two locations of memory, which is currently listed with a 256 MB memory card.  Can I add another card with 512 MB of memory, or should it be an another 256? What are my options?  The Compac site has both the 512 and 256 available, but I don't know if one would require to replace the current 256 or simply add?  Can someone help me? Thank you.

    Here is your card.

Memory installed 256 MB Maximum authorized as 1 GB (2 x 512 MB) sustained speed PC2700 MB/s Type 184 pin, DDR1-333 SDRAM DIMM slots two

  • HP 15-g040au (J6L81PA): add memory to HP 15-g040au (J6L81PA)

Hi, I want to add memory to my laptop - Task Manager says he uses one of the two slots, but the HP product page says there is a location that is accessible to the user. I can't find any documentation or manual on how to access the RAM so I can't even look at the present time.

Yes, there is one or two locations?

How do I access the RAM

What type of RAM can I add/replace? (Speed, voltage, buffered, ECC etc.? I don't really understand these)

    Thank you!

    Hello

Yes, you can shop, but the new design now can take an entire day to make you add/replace RAM, not 3 minutes, as the old design. To be safe is to make sure, please use the following site to scan your machine. It will tell you exactly what you need and where to buy, or you can also use the information to buy elsewhere:

  • Can I add memory to tx2500?

    Hi all

I would like to ask a question about memory.

How much memory can I have 64-bit on my laptop? I heard that 32-bit system do support a maximum of 4 GB of memory and machines more 64 - bit support, is true for my tx2500 PC?

    My current memory configuration is:

    • Slot 1: DDR2 2GB, Hyundai, PC2-6400 (400 MHz)
    • Slot 2: 1 GB, Micron, DDR2 PC2-6400 (400 MHz)

If I found a laptop computer memory labeled as:

    1. DDR2
    2. 4 GB
    3. 800 MHz
    4. 200Pin

Can I safely replace my slot 1 or memory slot 2 with that?

    Thank you

How much memory can I have 64-bit on my laptop?

That depend on the operating system that you are installing, for example, Windows 7 Ultimate/Enterprise/Professional you can go max of 192 GB. Windows 7 Home Premium, you can go 16 GB max. Windows 7 Home Basic, you can go 8 GB max.

But tx2500 has max support 4 GB only... so you can add another 2 GB instead of 1 GB module... To make total 4 GB...

  • Satellite Pro L300 - second defective memory Slot?

Hi, I'm trying to install 4 GB of memory in a laptop Satellite Pro L300. This kind of thing, I did a thousand times before.

However, every time I install a module of memory in the second memory slot, the laptop will be a blue screen when windows is loaded. Even running memtest (via bootable cd) will result in a block, so it is not for lack of Windows.

I have the latest version of the BIOS installed (1.50)

Each module of memory works perfectly in the main location on its own.

With the help of a single module of memory in the memory secondary slot (even the original 1 GB module) translates the laptop does not even start.

Is this a known issue? Or is it just a second faulty slot?

    Thank you very much!

Maybe it's a non compatible memory module.

What model of laptop you have exactly (L300-xxx)?
    What extra RAM you bought?
    Have you checked the compatibility?

To be honest on this forum you will find many forums where people have described the same problem after upgrade. Most of these problems described was linked to the use of markets and not compatible good RAM modules.
