Advanced BIOS options

I have a z510 Ideapad.

Anyone know how I can update the BIOS for I might be able to access options such as the configuration of memory, allowing the turbo boost, serger, advanced, change the boot order (disk, CDROM, USB, etc.)

Currently, the BIOS is very simple and does not give me advanced options and information.

Hello.

In the InsydeH20 BIOS for the IdeaPads there is no such thing as advanced options to configure the RAM and/or overclocking or anything of that kind. What you see in your BIOS, it's what you get, unless you venture into some BIOS modding complicated which involves showing / locked adding features, but I've never heard of someone overclocking their laptop in this way successfully.

This is a little more advanced in the bigger brother ThinkPad series, but which mainly involves additional security features. It is not customizable laptops, desktops computers.

Changing the boot order is relatively simple in the Boot section well.

See you soon.

    Howdy all

Just bought myself the e17 aspire and I use linux and program for android uses android studio that reqquires me to use VT enabled for their emulator.

So I did a kvm - ok and here this is not enabled in the bios, so no problem, I went into the bios and NO ADVANCED OPTIONS either.

    First question is why?

I guess for least developed it wise, but for us who need only option there should be a choice to allow him so we can use it and for all those who need to use a virtual machine, it wouldn't work without it.

So the great qustion here is how the hell show this thing so I can't see the advance options menu in the bios.

Even if there is a hex code which must be turned on (1) which is it?

I can use ghex to this if necessary, but I absolutely need sound for my work and it's the first bios I've seen without an advance in option for the VT to activate it.

So this slows me down now in my work because of this.

I have to get this permit.

Any help would be appreciated, and thanks in advance and please remember I do not use windows at all, it lasted about 8 hours before I almost nut with tons of shortcuts on the hull and normal user interface was not much better either, I use linux.

I just need to activate the hidden pages in the bios the option should be there.

    Sam

lol as usual when it comes to linux no response from the support teams unless there for the weekend.

in all cases I've seen there is a updated bios update ZQN_107 so I installed and updated the bios with freeDOS (linux only here) and there are still no advance or (still hidden) power option but at least it seems that you have the default VT so I can use the KVM for android studio so I guess I can mark it as RESOLVED now.

Just thought I would update this for others who need to use VT or KVM

I still want the options in advance and be able to be UNMASKED if possible.

    Hello

1st thing to try is a restoration of the system in safe mode

    http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode option with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

  • HP ENVY AE101NX: How to default BIOS Options of OS to SSD Boot Manager

    Hi all

I added new SSD in my laptop and also migrated OS from the HARD drive to the SSD.

I have checked and tested F9 I'm able to start properly in this new SSD with incredible speed and no problem.

Now, I wanted to put this SSD as a default value in the boot options where currently it is showing the HDD and SSd. But this submenu of the OS boot manager does not allow me to change the sequence.

It shows both and by default it is starting HARD operating system disk, unless I manually interrupt using the Esc and F9.

From now the HDD and SSD are available in my laptop with OS.

Could someone please suggest How can I do this SSD as boot by default?

    Thank you

Thank you all for your comments.

I have fixed this issue of cleanup/formatting my drive HARD SSD is ready with full operating system installation.

Here are the steps that I followed before posting this question here and after this announcement.

    (1) the SSD inserted in one of the port SATA m2 available in my laptop.

    (2) using the EaseUS backup and recovery tool, I've migrated my windows 10 BONES of the HDD to the SSD.

    (3) using the BIOS options (Esc + F9) I did so that I am able to start my SSD system without HARD drive. This is where I posted here, the question on how to remove the HARD drive in the list and the default at startup SSD.

    (4) removed the laptop HARD drive and ensured that I am able to start properly the SSD HARD drive function.

    (5) fixing the HARD drive using an adapter (USB 3.0) external HARD disk for laptop and same formatted. Also deleted all partitions.

    (6) then inserted the HDD clean even in my laptop with existing SSD.

    (7) now I'm able to boot directly into the SSD as there is no bootable/EFI OS available on the HARD disk.

Now, it's showing only 1 option even if I go to BIOS Esc + F9.

    My problem is solved.

    Thank you

  • ProBook 450 G @: ADVANCED STARTUP OPTIONS

I have to be able to use a program that doesn't have a digitally signed driver.  I used this software on previous machines without problem.  With the new computer by pressing F8 does not get me in an advanced boot menu where I can choose "disable driver signature enforcement".  I've tried BCDedit patches and they no longer have what I read online.  Anyone know how to get into the advanced boot menu?

I had already tried the F8 button like on previous computers but ony opens a HP screen similar to what you have me sent on Win 8.1.  This interface has no provision for loading unsigned drivers.  I found that after escaping from this interface if I immediately hit the F8 key it would be to raise the black ' advance boot options ' familiar screen.  Thanks for your help.

Why you want to reinstall your PC? It could be that you don't need to reinstall Windows, and solutions you could solve, which is recommended.

However, if you want to reinstall your Windows, it's NOT F8, F8 key belongs to Windows and he'll fix the problems. To reinstall Windows, you must use differently for Dell steps:

    http://support.Dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/KCS/document?c=us&l=en&s=Gen&docid=DSN_347576&isLegacy=true

And for more details, you could visit the Dell Web site and search for your model and find the method to do this, or contact technical support:

  • Alternative way to launch "Advanced Boot Options"?

If F8 doesn't work is more (due to the change C drive) possible to get to the Advanced Boot Options, another way? The D drive is always there in its entirety and completely intact.

Thank you very much.  It's a great way to spare for a starting course.

I installed a linux distribution and the startup sequence I messed it up and vista was not showing or launch.  To make a long story short vista was intact and I found it and I could run but the F8 Advanced Boot Option was not engaging.  I came across a few pieces of timing when you press F8 in combination with the help of the space bar for strength in the early startup Option and it does the trick.

I wanted to do a reset to factory image and I was hoping that all the C drive could get reformatted, including on the distribution of linux, that I had created the reformatting.  Factory reset did work, but surprisingly, it does not reformat the entire disk C and left alone the partitioned on linux distro.

(I must be using a mix of things and wrong terminology here.  Maybe the reset worked well, but I had narrowed the C drive and partitioned it on linux distro was on another drive and that's why he was left alone.  I don't know).  Anyway, thanks again for you help.

  • Why Dell has paralyzed the Panel advanced configuration options of power on the venue Pro 8?

Reference paralyzed Dell Control Panel advanced configuration options of power on the venue Pro 8.

Dell must provide a patch restores full power plan setting up advanced features of Windows.

Adding a new default Dell Windows power plan doesn't bother me, but they must not paralyze the Panel Windows distribution, power options, or remove the standard Windows power management.

That has something to do with the sleep settings connected / configuration Microsoft / Dell are doing on these units. It is the same for versions place 11 MS Pro. units of vPro are different because no standby connected supports. With Eve logged onto the available settings are limited to what would not interfere with it. If you would change settings (e.g., SSD or Wifi Powermanagement Disabled) issues as sleep function in the process of disappearance and others. Microsoft also has requirements to be connected certified standby.
Again, not 100% sure if it's MS or Dell do but my guess would be Microsoft because I saw the same thing with different units.
If you turn off the connected Eve all Windows power plans are displayed and all the advanced features of power are available.

Use the command Regedit and change the following:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power
Change the value for the key CsEnabled from 1 to 0 and reboot.
1 means connected off standby active and 0.
Try it and see if it solves your problem.

BTW: by disabling the connected standby battery also will show the time remaining not only the percentage of battery life. :-)

  • Disabled Options of Outlook 2007 indexing and advanced search options

Im running Windows 7 RC1 Ultimate x 64 and I recently started having a problem with Outlook 2007. Somehow all advanced search options (hit the double arrow to the right of the Inbox "search" field to specify, body, subject, etc.) are disabled - that is grayed out and I can't use them. If I go to the search options in Outlook all under the category indexing and search is also disabled. Finally, I noticed that if I go into Windows Indexing Options > change, under the heading change of the chosen places 'Microsoft Office Outlook' is grayed out as and when I go over it the ToolTip says "indexing of Outlook emails like summer disabled by the system administrator.

I confirmed this isn't something set via Group Policy, because I have several other similar PC which presents all works very well on. The only thing I can think is vaguely remembered changing some indexing options a bit back to allegedly to increase performance, but I don't remember what that or if I did before or after loading Win7.

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
