  Hi all, I recently bought a used Elitebook 8570p - big machine. To my surprise, when I went to burn it to a CD, I discovered the installed DVD ROM is a reader, not a writer. I didn't even know that those who exist more... Model is HP DVD ROM DT80N.

  The max is 8 GB per slot memory.

  Your laptop has only two memory slots, the maximum memory is 16 GB.

  The 8570w with the quad core processor can take 32 GB of memory because it has 4 memory slots.

  There are many differences according to the product (IE model) which is a combination of many options (CPU, RAM, video card, display...).   When I did a fresh install, I downloaded assign here on HP drivers. But one that is not completely installed is annoying me. I don't want to.   If you want to install the individual driver with the floppy drive then use your up/down arrow keys to scroll through until you find the Intel (r) 7 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller.

   

  Make sure that you scroll in both directions in the window, because a lot of people complain that they cannot find the driver in the window.  It's here - top or bottom of the initial view.

   

  This is the driver SATA AHCI specific needs of your laptop.
  

• HP Elitebook 8570p - Windows XP USB very slow and the transfer rate performance issues.

  Hello. I was wondering if anyone else knows some performance issues with the HP Elitebook 8570p and Windows XP Pro - SP3.

  I get a VERY slow start, general poor performance (waiting time when opening files and programs).

  I asked to burn in tests that show that everything is good.

  USB transfer rates are VERY slow (tried all ports of a Seagate FreeAgent USB drive, which works fine on other laptops etc.) for example a 30-minute transfer a 7gig single file of the USB HD on the desktop. Only 3 minutes to do the same on another laptop.

  I think there are problems with the drivers, like Windows 7 works very well and does boot from a bootable USB.

  USB transfer rate are also good when starting from a Windows boot environment.

  I installed HP SoftPaq Download Manager, and all the drivers are up to date.

  I think outside of the box here... Select the Intel (r) 7 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller instead.

  If it does not, I raise the white flag.

  After the loading of the page, select the version of W7 you have installed, and you will be directed to the list of drivers.

  It's worse than you think. The above specifications are for the 8570w, which is a different machine. The 8570p welded on video, whether discrete or integrated. So basically, there is no upgrade except the motherboard swap whole. It doesn't have an MXM slot. And there is no external video option on this generation of equipment that deserves to be discussed.

• 8570 laptop EliteBook: EliteBook 8570p wireless problem

  The DSS failed with the BSoD. Replaced by new SSDS. Reinstalled the operating system Windows 7 Pro 64-bit (new installation). After struggling to find the right on the site of HP drivers, Device Manager no longer shows the errors of the device. However, I'm unable to connect to the LAN. It is said there is no connection available, which is obviously not true. A workstation in the same room is connected wireless to my router dual-band, as are several other posts still further the router.

  WiFi power button stays always on and doesn't turn off, which seems strange. Of course, I want it on. The icon in the status bar displays wireless bar white with a red X.
