  I have a HP 2542, it's for my dad, he wants to use it only as a standalone Copier, no pc attached, just lift the lid put the papoer to press on print, then get a copy at the other end. How simple is that? BUT the scanner will scan only of letter size and the original is A4 so the end of Moose is off, how do I change the scanning a4 area? This should be so simple and yet I can not find where to change it! I installed the printer on my laptop, but all the settings I found said A4 already, but the printer scans stubbornly letter! • SSO allows only local users of OS and not?

  We are small: 3 guests with about 40 virtual machines.  I only need a server to do all my stuff vcenter, and that's how I ran through 4.1.

  I intend to do a simple install, during the upgrade to 5.1.  I'd do it rather _not_ deal with Single Sign-On Donostiarra, adding and according to my Active Directory if I can help it.  Reading of the vSphere vCenter Server 5.1 Upgrade Guide ESXi, around 30-31 pages, it appears I can indeed just use SSO with local users and not need to discover AD at all.  Here again, it is not exactly clear to me.

  So I can just be local admin user on my server vCenter Server, install the SSO, then the rest and make?  No need to attach the AD?

  PS: my current vCenter 4.1 server is indeed a member of our AD (Windows Server 2008), but it's mostly just do WSUS and others.  I do not AD require otherwise.

  TL; Dr: Yes your assumption is correct, local users are working with SSO, it is not necessary for users of the AD.

  long version:

  I would still install it as a domain user, if Autodiscover fails, don't bother on this subject. As long as you use install Simple (I rather advise you to install the components one after the other) or install SSO in basic Mode, you will be able to use your local users.

  If you ever decide you need users AD they can always be added at a later stage.

  If you install SSO without using Simple install do not forget to install basic as Multisite mode and Mode HA do not support the local system users.

• Cannot open in only two JPEG files.

  I was not aware of this problem until recently, so I can't tell you when it failed.  I went to search for images in the file and now they won't open.

  I tried in the Gallery of photos, paint and PhotoShop CS2.  I get errors of each of them as written below.

  MS Photo Gallery: Photo Gallery can't open this photo or video.  This file format is not supported or you do not have the latest updates to the photo gallery.

  Paint: C:\Users| Owner | 2009 | 07. IMG_3618.jpg Paint cannot read this file.     Is not a Lea bitmap file, or its format is not currently supported.

  PSCS2: Could not complete your request because we find a unknown or invalid JPEG marker type.

  In his only two files that are July and August 2009, so the files were fine until recently, but it may have been several months since I looked inside.

  I have Vista Home Premium, I believe.

  ·         What is the file size of JPEG files?

  For now, I suggest you to copy two .jpeg files to another computer and check if you are able to open them.

  I have the HP Photosmart C7283 all-in-one printer scanner copier fax. It worked fine on my old Vista laptop and now I installed it on my Windows7 desktop. The only thing that does not work properly is the scanner. It only lets you scan files bmp, jpg & tif, but not one I mainly use namely pdf. If someone could help. Thank you very much.

  The PDF function should be available using the software of HP full feature.

  If you just plug in the printer and used the printer in OS driver is ecpected behaviour.

  For this scenario, you should unplug the printer, remove any installed device, then install the full feature software:

  1. Disconnect any USB cable connected to your printer.
  2. Enter the control panel > devices and printers.
  3. Right-click the printer icon, then select remove device.
  4. Restart your PC.
  5. Download and install the full feature software below:

  However, if you have installed the full features software and you use HP Solution Center to perform a scan, PDF file type should appear.

  If it does not appear, you have selected more likely not to install the OCR software that required for scanning to PDF:

  1. Start the Installation of the complete software functionality.
  2. Click Add additional software
  3. Select the Iris of the reading or the OCR Application and complete the installation.
  4. Restart your PC and PDF should appear in the dialog box, scan a Document.

  They used to open with Adobe, but I had to reinstall windows.  How to change this setting so that they will open with Adobe reader again.  I've been in internet options and the Protocol associated to a PDF is Adobe.

  I fixed it by removing Internet Explorer and Google Chrome.  Now it is not a problem, so it was a problem to explore not an Outlook problem.

  It is an interesting problem. I have 3 computers I want to fall under parental controls, all run Windows 7. (Computer A) works as it should with parental control. The other two are rocking. I have activate FS on B, it disables c. reactivate on C, it turns off computer b. C hard disk has been cloned to leave computer B, then C has "upgraded" to Windows 7 with a new valid license, so I suspect some ID that must be different between the two is the same. They have different computer names. I "fixed" FS on the two B & C nothing works. Any ideas?
