HP Envy 17 3D | Video player

Hi, I'm looking at 3D blue ray on my laptop 3D movies, but I seem to have found a video issues 3D player. I know that when I bought this laptop, I got a player (power dvd) 3D video but when I install the 3D video software on my computer, found here (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-104362-1 & cc = us & dlc = in & lc = in... it does not support 3D video.) Is there a way I can get power dvd free 14 or download power dvd came with my laptop in support of 3D movies?

Thank you for your help and your support!

Hi, thanks for the information.

In this, the research on Windows 7 drivers provided in the link of your frist post are for PowerDVD 10. You mention that you received a (test) free PowerDVD 14. (This is not a complete version). The drivers only support the software.

The use of these drivers, you could try installing the application for PowerDVD 10. Other wise use PowerDVD 14 with Windows 7, you can review these:

Product help - a direct link to Cyberlinks support products, FAQ and support.

The PowerDVD user guide - a direct link to the user guide of the PowerDVD 14, which has lots of information and the most likely to solve your problem without contact Cyberlink directly.

I hope that they are able to help you.
Thanks for your reply.

However, I suspect that the problem may be caused by one of your addons. I think that maybe it's the MediaPlayer 3.3.2 available to you.

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

  • The update for the video player is for Windows, I have a Mac, is an another scheduled update?

I received two notifications that the video player for Firefox should be updated. When I try to install the update, I get the message that it cannot do so because it is impossible to run Windows applications on a Mac. An update is planned for Macs? Also, if an update is only for Windows, is there a way I can indicate that I don't need, so I continue to receive messages?

You have malicious software! (Yes, Macs can get malware).

Please remove this extension and see if that helps: MediaPlayer 3.3.2

You can do this on the page modules. Either:

    • CMD + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then find this suspicious extension on the right side and remove (or, in case of doubt, disable).

Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled/removed to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

  • Am I being hacked from a website of popup saying I need to update my video player?

I've been on Fingerhut. com (first time) when a popup that has engulfed the entire page said that I had to update my video player and should be less than one minute, 10 seconds actually. He just didn't feel, so I googled and he came is a scam, at least I'm sure it's a scam, I moved my mouse over the button install and the link was helpingtrk.com/base2.php. I googled url and is came up with what I thought was a a forum page, but it was another page of the scam, the url that has been http://mediaupdate15.com/418888/?v1=1 & v2 = 1 & v3 = 1 AND when I looked in my 'history', that the link had a greyed link that has been http://za1.zeroredirect1.com/zcvisitor/a7c6b420-12eb-11e5-bbcf-0a936b024545 that appears in my cookies in gray.

I NEVER clicked on anything whatsoever on the pages, my question is, just being on these pages, I got my computer infected by a virus?

If you have not downloaded anything, then most likely you are not infected. But it is worth checking:

    (1) open the Control Panel, uninstall a program. After the loading of the list, click on the column heading "installed on" to group infections, I mean additions by date. This should help discover any install/updater that can push other unwanted software. Beware of everything that you don't recognize / remember, since malware often uses sounding names important or innocent to discourage you remove. Out as much garbage as possible here.

    (2) very probably, it was generated by an ad in the site, but please check for bad just in case modules.

Open Firefox page modules using either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
    • in the Windows "Run" dialog box, type or paste
      firefox.exe "about:addons"

In the left column, click on Plugins. Set essential and unrecognized plugins 'never enable '.

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, in case of doubt, disable (or delete, if possible) not recognized and unwanted extensions.

Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

    (3) Finally, you can complete your security software regular with sweeping/cleaning of the tools listed in our technical support article: Troubleshooting Firefox problems caused by malware. These scanners on request are free and take a long time to run. If they end quickly, especially if they require the payment you have a serious infection. I suggest the specialty forums listed in the article in this case.

  • Local MP4 files always open with Firefox's built-in video player

I believe before Firefox 35, I was able to open the local links to mp4 files and Firefox would ask me what to do (open, save, etc.). Local links to files mp4 always open in the embedded video player on Firefox with no option to do otherwise. I tried setting "media.windows - media - foundation.enabled' to 'false' and it has no effect on the local links to files mp4." All the other common video formats, I've tested (avi, mpg, wmv) ask me what for, as this is the expected behavior.

    To reproduce:

    1.) enter URL: file:///path/to/video.mp4
2.) observes that the file opens in the video player built-in with no option to do otherwise

Hello, please put media.windows - media - foundation.enabled to his default preference and try to activate media.play - stand alone false instead.

  • Amazon HTML5 video player on Safari?

Today, I watched a video from Amazon in Safari 9.1.1 under El Capitan on my MacBook. Amazon played using Silverlight plug-ins, I had installed. However, a box came up that said the video would improve if I uses its HTML5 video player, that he says is compatible with Chrome (M42 version or newer), Firefox (version 47 or more recent), Edge Microsoft Internet Explorer (11 or newer on Windows 8.1 and later), on Windows 10 and Opera (version 31 or more recent).

Safari is remarkably absent from the list. Recent versions of Safari do not support HTML5?

Of course, it does. Amazon has chosen not to support Safari, for reasons known only to them.

  • pop ups continue to add to update video player and they keep opening keep tabs. How can I stop it?

New tabs keep open asking me to update my video player

If the new tabs are relentless, you may need to restart Firefox Safe mode to get little peace. It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable some advanced features of Firefox and extensions. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
    • Help menu > restart with disabled modules

Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still works

After stops in Firefox, a small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not reset).

    Any difference?

  • I get a message on the video player update. What is going on? Why do I need this? Prove that I do - too much virus there for just downloading something

A page keeps popping up saying THAT FIREFOX wants me to download this video player. I am wary of download anything these days by the virus software out there

If you receive a message pop up asking to update or install other software, then such a message is probably a scam and you should never respond to such reporting to avoid being infected by malware.

You should only update Firefox via "> about" or by downloading and installing Firefox from Mozilla and server never using a popup or a link on a web page.

  • Portege M100 - video player does not work

    Can anyone help?
Had to rebuild my beloved Portege M100, after a hard disk failure.
Everything works well except the video player.

Tried using Windows Media Player and Intervideo Win DVD, but the two close as soon as the video starts.
WMP has said that this is a problem with a codec called ivivideo forming Intervideo and Corel as they are now.

However, their site is less useful and I can't find a way to update.

    Suggestions anyone?

    Hello

    Try VLC Player.
It s small tool/player which can be downloaded for free.
    It plays most files smoothly.

In addition, you could install some packages of codec as K-Lite codec pack

    Good luck
